The Undertaker retired after WrestleMania 32?
Is Undertaker Retired 4 ever?

He should put Cena over before he leaves for good. It's the way to do business.
|
Cena/Taker at Mania is too much of a money match to pass up next year.

I wish he would, but no, I don't think he will.
|
Dallas isn't even his hometown.
|
I don't think Taker is retired.
Like a lot of people, my belief is that Taker will have one last match at Wrestlemania with John Cena next year. Cena will retire Taker. |
I hope so. I'm not that bothered about seeing him wrestle anymore, but on top of that, with Shane running Raw and Undertaker retired, it would have been a hilarious finish at WM.
|
Every1 seems to want Taker to face CENA at WrestleMania 33...what if Taker has a more low-key final opponent in a 10-12 minute match...someone like KANE or THE BIG SHOW...That way he can have a stress free match where he hits his signature spots while taking some light/easy bumps of his opponents offense.
|
lol @ the very thought of anybody getting excited over Taker vs. Kane or Taker vs. Big Show in 2017
|
Anyway, no. I feel like if Taker knew that it would be his last match, he either would have jobbed to fit the stipulation or they never would have put the stipulation in to begin with and he would have said straight away that it was his last match ever.
Mark Calaway will get the Ric Flair sendoff the night after Mania when he does retire. |

Anyways Michelle will whip him into shape for WM33.
|
No, I'm still going to hold out hope that Taker gets inducted I to the Hall of Fame next year and challenges any other Hall of Famer to a WM match. Sting answers and they both officially retire after Mania.
|
I think he retired, after the pinfall I am pretty sure he cried. Then the taking off the gloves does kind of signify he is hanging up the gloves. But I am sure once he gets his paycheck and sits on his ass for a year he will get a phone call to come back next year.

People outside of Texas think you posted this through a computer attached to a cow, so I'm pretty sure explaining this will be for naught, fair Texan Champion |

Baring them being hilarious inept, feels like if this Mania was Taker's final, the WWE would have done a lot better job hyping it up or like Vito said give him a post-Mania RAW send off.
Reports like these have been popping up after Taker's Mania matches for years and every time he ends up reconsidering within a few months later. If he does really decide to retire this year, could see either SummerSlam or Survivor Series as the big event to do it. SummerSlam because its usually the 3rd biggest WWE event of the year and Survivor Series because it would tie into the ppv he debuted at. |
If this actually was Taker's last Mania I'm kinda sad he didn't get into the Rumble match. He had worked at SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Mania. May as well be in the Rumble and hit all of the Big Four on the way out the door.
|
Hopefully not, that WM32 match wasn't that good.
|
They've gotta do Taker-Cena. They've just gotta.
|
Why? I sort of like the idea of it being forever in peoples minds as not happened. Better than having every match up done to death.
|
cena/taker has been done to death?
|
I hope he can wrestle Cena. Undertaker vs John Cena is a personal dream match of mine.
|
According to the Observer, the WWE backtracked on pulling Taker out of the European tour. Will be on next week's Smackdown show in London and then at least two more shows before the tour ends.
|
Good. Undertaker vs John Cena is the ultimate dream match for a guy like me.

No I mean Surfer Cena. Don't try to put words in my mouth, dammit!

John Cena versus Undertaker at Mania would be great.

To be completely honest, he should have retired following the loss to Brock. If he had no intentions of retiring following that match, then he should not have lost. "The Streak" should not have been conquered in what was not his last match ever....
|
I had liked the idea Lance Storm came up with several years back right around the time The Streak became the most revered thing in wrestling.
Basically you just have The Undertaker come out and cut a promo about how he has accomplished everything and the streak is the only thing he has left. And when the streak is gone, he'll retire. Basically it spoils the fact that someday it would end. But it makes every Taker WM match even more of a must-see because it could be his last ever match. |

Just... have it happen that once and don't do it to death.

You can have Taker vs. Sting as your "what if", Cena vs. Taker would be huge. |
Stinger is done guys, I know his doctor and I've seen the x-ray's, it's quite disturbing. He needs surgery if he ever wants to take bumps again.
|
Can he still safely wear face paint? I hear that's pretty risky, too.

The real question is: If Taker vs Cena happened in a non-biker/rapper capacity on an episode of Smackdown, would Shisen still tape it?

I don't think it would. Wouldn't be any worse than Taker/Shane in my opinion.
|
It'd definately be better than Taker vs. Kane or Big Show. Can't believe anyone is suggesting that in 2016.

I dunno, should I tape that hypothetical smackdown?

Taker for President! Every time he ends a speech, he rolls his eyes back. Then the graveyard symphony plays.
Ok i'd settle for GM position.. |
Unless something goes wrong with current recovery Taker will still be wrestling. But I suspect the seeds will be planted that his run is coming to an end.
|
The seeds that his run was coming to an end were planted in 2011.

Poll response: ohhhhh yeeeeeeeees

My gut tells me that even if Taker decided he was done at Mania this year, he'd still do one last match for the company putting over someone knowing it was his last. He got to work with Luke Harper at Survivor Series, but if he enjoyed that, I could see it being Taker vs. Harper one-on-one. Honestly though, my personal preference right now would be Rusev.
There are very few guys who reach the sublime with their subtlety like Rusev. He's got the size and skill needed to be a believable in-ring match for Taker, and his gimmick -- although I would give it a few contemporary tweaks -- makes for a believably hungry challenger for Taker. It also puts Lana back in the spotlight, and hopefully the heat on her has gone wayside, because she's got the charisma there to be a leading lady for them. There's a Macho Man/Sherri type of dynamic there, although it could be Macho Man/Liz if they turned the two. |
While I think Rusev would be a good choice to put more momentum behind, I don't think he's the right guy to end Taker's WWE career.
You have to think of things like you're creating a video of The Undetaker's career in WWE. To end it on a guy like Luke Harper or Rusev just doesn't seem epic enough. I look at this career ending thing as something special. Flair's WWE career was ended by HBK and HBK's by Taker. Neither HBK or Taker needed those wins, but from a legacy standpoint you had these ICONs ending their runs. So with that in mind, the only guys who could do it would be Rock, Austin, Cena or HHH. The good thing about one of those four guys is you can keep having big matches where they retire each other. Austin likely never wrestles, so maybe he's out. But the other three would work. Cena is probably the right guy. Forgot about Lesnar, he would work too. But probably the wing choice since they have had enough battles. |
Couldve built up Wyatt and ended it with him. You can still do it but it'll be a lot harder to pull off

i don't think he should wrestle anymore, but on the other hand it would kinda suck if shane was his last match

Going into Wrestlemania 30, Wyatt was the strongest heel in the company outside of Brock, and the gap wasn't that wide. If he would have won the feud against Cena and been protected throughout the following year, that match would have felt iconic. It would have had the same magic that Jericho vs Micheals had. But it's all hindsight. TAker lost to Brock, and wyatt was booked to lose so much that he lost that intimidating aura, and their match really didn't have any real hype at all going in. |

Who did Flair and HBK pass the torch to? Hell, Andre did the favours for Hogan when Hogan was already well established as the man. Austin had his to this point last match against The Rock, who was also well established at that point. You need a moment. Wyatt going over Taker is not a moment on the level of Taker beating HBK or HBK beating Flair. |

Apparently Shane and Taker had talked about having the match before.
