I wonder if the bull guy is next...what was his name, the one with El Matadores?

Bad News Gertner 05-06-2016 11:41 AM

Alex Riley's theme was so great

They fed Riley to Nakamura and released him?

Helmsphere 05-06-2016 11:44 AM

How could Vince release his own son? That bastard

Bad News Gertner 05-06-2016 11:46 AM

Summer Rae released

Helmsphere 05-06-2016 11:48 AM

Also, with the Cruiserweight Classic, how could you not have the last ever Cruiserweight champion in it.

A-Ry I kinda understand, I mean i like the guy, and the talent was there. Plus the pop he got against Miz when he turned on him was huge, However I'm beginning to wonder if that is just the case, that the Miz is actually that awesome as a heel as Sandow got the same reaction (Sandow is the good, so I don't think it was completely Miz there)

Could of atleast put Colter back with Swagger, it sucks, but I believe Swagger is close to being released as well, which makes me sad, because he has clearly improved alot since his World Heavyweight Title Run back in 2010

EL TORITO

Summer Rae is Fandangoing off into the sunset as well

Summer Rae's released ended up being debunked ... at least for now.

Source came from a fake Joey Styles Twitter account while the others were from the legit account.

This is turning out to be a depressing Smash Mouth Friday,,,,,

The Destroyer 05-06-2016 12:01 PM

Cameron's gone.

Heisenberg 05-06-2016 12:03 PM

I'm afraid to take lunch and come back to a surprising release

The Destroyer 05-06-2016 12:03 PM

I think you should be fine. Not like any of these have really been a surprise.

The Destroyer 05-06-2016 12:06 PM

Bye bye to Santino as well. Amazed he was still under contract.

Big Vic 05-06-2016 12:08 PM

still, no sources cited.

Seth Rollins has been released.

Just leave that page open and hit F5 once in a while. They're updating it as they go.

Big Vic 05-06-2016 12:10 PM

:)

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-06-2016 12:14 PM

About time for all of them. Unless Zeb is going to get moved to a creative/producer job. He's getting up there in age. Might just want to retire with his remaining backhair.

Sixx 05-06-2016 12:37 PM

I thought Hornswoggle was released years ago. Huh.

Barrett and Sandow...I knew this lunch thing would be a bad idea

Evil Vito 05-06-2016 01:37 PM

I felt WWE did Barrett a real disservice early in his career. First off I think he should have been a bigger deal than he was coming out of the Nexus angle, which in and of itself could have been built into a marquee Mania program rather than Cena systematically killing the group as constructed within a month of being "fired". And then after an injury they spent weeks building him up as a badass bareknuckle fighter only to make him a standard chickenshit heel within two weeks of his return.

I don't fault WWE for not doing much of importance with him the rest of his career beyond that, his body just betrayed him constantly so I couldn't blame WWE for just treading water with him after that. Great talker though.

And Sandow...man what a waste. The guy oozed charisma and wasn't a slouch in the ring. The crowd got so red hot for him as Mizdow and I think he could have springboarded from that into a regular contender for one of the midcard belts, at the worst. Barely ever using him on TV after Mizdow ended was criminal.

Emperor Smeat 05-06-2016 01:37 PM

:-\ Sandow's gone.

Sixx 05-06-2016 01:38 PM

Look at the bright side, Hornswoggle's got the time to make like 5 more Leprechaun movies now!

That'll be the one people will be unhappy about then.

Stupid given how over he seemed to be whenever he appeared, but not surprising considering they hadn't really done anything with him in a year.

Nicky Fives 05-06-2016 01:41 PM

Barrett's the only one that doesn't make any sense in my eyes, but after the way he's been booked, I don't see why he wouldn't leave....He's got enough WWE experience now that he could get decent money doing indies and maybe even take some of that barely-existent TNA money until they die.....

Thank god Cameron is gone, absolutely useless since the day she was hired and never improved at all...

Frank Drebin 05-06-2016 01:42 PM

Lol that Cameron wasn't good enough to wrestle or even interesting enough for Total Divas.

Frank Drebin 05-06-2016 01:43 PM

Sandow vs. Dalton Castle is gonna be epic though.

From what he tweeted it sounds like he just wants out of wrestling for a while rather than just out of WWE.

Simple Fan 05-06-2016 01:46 PM

It would be indeed. Sandown seems like a good fit for ROH. Could see Riley and Cameron ending up in TNA.

Simple Fan 05-06-2016 01:48 PM

Yeah see Barrett going home and maybe even get in to acting.

Yeah, WWE squandered several big moments with him.

MitB case got cut short because the WWE's idea of bringing prestige to the World belt was to just toss it on Cena and then quickly merge the titles. Didn't want Sandow to be possibly around for any of it.

Mizdow ends with the WWE having no clue what to do with the post-split from Miz and wanted Big Show to have the Andre trophy.

Even something like the new Mega Powers was starting to get over but got cut short because of the Hogan mess and WWE having no clue on how to salvage the gimmick.

Frank Drebin 05-06-2016 01:54 PM

Well, at least with Hornswaggle and El Torito out of the way, Austin Aries has a clear path to the main roster.

slik 05-06-2016 02:00 PM

I would lol if they released Baron Corbin

Innovator 05-06-2016 02:01 PM

Sandow is going to make a lot of money on the independent scene

Heisenberg 05-06-2016 02:07 PM

I would watch TNA if Sandow went there

Frank Drebin 05-06-2016 02:07 PM

Damien El Patron

Sandow in Chikara would be absolutely wonderful.

Black Widow 05-06-2016 02:18 PM

I can't say I give a fuck aside from Sandow.

Innovator 05-06-2016 02:21 PM

None of these phase me, even Sandow. They were never going to give him a proper role on the show, for whatever reason.

Evil Vito 05-06-2016 02:22 PM

None of these are surprising at all, I'm more just bummed at the wasted potential of Barrett and especially Sandow.

Stickman 05-06-2016 02:39 PM

I really liked Sandow, the guy was given various amounts of chicken shit and always turned it into chicken salad. Somebody at the top doesn't like him which is too bad, he was the goods.

Emperor Smeat 05-06-2016 02:39 PM

Some current speculation Randy Orton might be among those getting cut. WWE's website suddenly took down his webpage although could just be some lingering bugs with their new website design. Others who got released today still have their wrestler pages online at WWE's website but moved to new sections.

didn't think WWE was allowed to cut anyone who's off on injury.

They'll probably cut Ryback and Adam Rose due to their "New Era" piss

The annual "Spring Cleaning" day has arrived.

Bummed out about Barrett. Loved the Bad News Barrett character, but we all knew he was leaving sometime soon. I guess with everyone getting pink sliped today, he took advantage.

Just a few hours after several WWE talents were released, two of those talents are already booked for Global Force Wrestling/WrestlePro shows.

Hornswoggle and Zeb Colter have both been announced for the June 11 show in Keyport, New Jersey. You can check out the announcements from Global Force Wrestling below. Hornswoggle will be using the name 'Swoggle.'

drave 05-06-2016 04:58 PM

Your new GFW Champion, Swoggle.

Disturbed316 05-06-2016 05:20 PM

A lot of dead weight being cut, that's best for business.

Yes, Sandow was entertaining at times, but when his biggest gimmick was being someone else, he was doomed once it was over.

Ultra Mantis 05-06-2016 05:23 PM

Wouldn't be surprised if Sandow was the rumoured second guy who opted not to renew his contract.

Stickman 05-06-2016 06:36 PM

Could have sworn Santino retired years ago.

Yeah but he wore terrible tights that proved he wasn't smarter. Nobody with brains would wear bright pink/purple tights. Should have gone for blue velvet or something classy.

Austin talked about Sandow on his show. About how time WWE will do stupid shit just to see if you have gumption enough to say No. Forgot the episode might have been a shooting the shit with Ted Fowler.

#1-norm-fan 05-06-2016 06:49 PM

Nah. Rumors. His WWE profile was down for a few hours and I guess that's what got people talking.

#1-norm-fan 05-06-2016 06:51 PM

"Oh shit! He's getting massively over in the midcard scene! Better take him off TV immediately and then release him!"

Mr. Nerfect 05-06-2016 07:16 PM

Sandow is the one that makes me the most annoyed. You'd think you'd find something for Zeb fucking Colter to do though.

Mr. Nerfect 05-06-2016 07:16 PM

Going to be honest, I'm a bit worried for Fandango, Adam Rose, Jack Swagger and even Tyler Breeze right now.

This would be the perfect time to release Darren Young and Titus O'Neil and not get much shit about it.

Sandow is definitely massively overrated by those here, and was not anything special..... but The Miz did get him really over, and I will agree that it was "weird" how they didn't do anything with that.... but at the end of the day no big loss.

In a group of releases though? Especially if you negotiate early outs for guys like Mark Henry who are going to be stepping down soon anyway. What's Darren Young going to say? "Oh, they fired me because I'm gay and black"?

I wasn't even a fan of him winning Money in the Bank and I think he was a lot more than what he ended up. Perception made him special eventually. But the WWE never did anything with it post-Mania 31. A real shame. Guy could have been an over component to any show he was on, which matters in the mid-card as much as it does the main event.

Mr. Nerfect 05-06-2016 07:32 PM

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Zack Ryder end up in this slew of releases. Sort of a washing their hands of the problem once and for all sort of thing.

They're not safe because of what they will complain of it of, they both fill a quota in a publically traded company that's trying to portray themselves as progressive.

Mr. Nerfect 05-06-2016 07:53 PM

They can always hire another gay guy.

Out of the group, I'd say Rose is the most likely and Breeze the least. Rose recently reposted his doctor's note online after taking it down while Breeze got scheduled recently for an upcoming NXT tour against Nakamura.

WWE probably going to let Swaggie's contract expire since it only has a couple of months left.

DAMN iNATOR 05-06-2016 09:01 PM

Most of these I can understand but WHAT THE EVER-LOVING FUCK @ Sanyino?! He would have been just fine with doing occasional comic relief like he had been in recent times.

Also, really enjoyed the Santina storyline until a certain "presumptive" Republican nominee named Donald J. Trump killed the character...

Lock Jaw 05-06-2016 09:13 PM

He can not be under contract and still make just as many appearances as he has in "recent times"
