48 hours since losing the belt, must of hit hard on him, poor sod, save the three way dance for Summerslam

even if he is back for battleground it's going to be hard to build a triple threat with only 2 of the people on raw and smackdown.

Bit surprised they didn't do any advance warning for him like its always been rumored what the WWE does for their top stars or something similar to one of Orton's past suspensions where its a semi-suspension but keeps tv time I think.

The absence could be a good opportunity to freshen Roman up a bit.

I'd keep him off TV a while after the suspension finishes and have him return by brutalising Ambrose (who's still the champ) at the end of Summerslam. You've then got Roman as a heel feuding with the ever popular Ambrose which is something we've yet to see. Could be interesting.

He'll miss the draft. He could be a free agent when he returns and gets to choose which show he's on. Wonder what this does for the small group of fans he does have.

I could see it if they would have not announced a highly anticipated Shield triple threat less then 24 hours ago. Just wouldn't make much sense from a business standpoint of they knew about it.

Can't see them writing him off with injury or anything given the publicity this will get. I could honestly see them do the triple threat with out him there for the build. It's not like he would contribute a lot in the build on the mic anyway having to go up against Rollins and Ambrose with one liners.

Rollins could complain that he gets to stay in the match and that he's already beat him when he was doped up. Ambrose doesn't care as he'd fight anybody on anything.

You wouldn't know from the front page of wwe.com that anything was wrong. Top trending news story is the Stone Cold podcast. There's still a bunch of references to the Battleground Triple Threat, no mention of you search "Roman Reigns" or "suspension", only if you search all 3 words together.

Keep him off of Battleground, have Rollins/Ambrose fight in a Non-Title Match with the stip that the winner gets to pick the stipulation for the Triple Threat at Summerslam.....easy way to keep Reigns out....

According to the sheets, looks like his suspension won't be as strict with the time off from tv since he's currently planned to be on next week's RAW.

Orton had something similar for his 2nd suspension I think with the WWE giving themselves some leeway to how he was punished.

This whole story reminds me of when DEVASTATOR was suspended and then sub sequently fired back in season 5 of CHW. He was in a top program in CHW, and was also fighting his ex-stable mate Innovator from Team FTW.


I really like Roman Reigns so I hope they don't end up firing him like Devastator.

Given that they knew about Roman's violation before RAW last night, why couldn't they have had Rollins take out Reigns in some segment last night, have Rollins vs Ambrose at Battleground, then have that match end in a DQ when Reigns comes in to attack Rollins during the match, setting up the triple threat for Summer Slam?

Honestly hope he returns as an upper card guy outside of the main event, just don't think he has it and this is maybe one more sign that he is not handling the pressure of being a top guy.

He doesn't have the skill set to be one, and while I wouldn't wish any ill will on him, I hope he comes back with his push reduced.

Does no one think this is a work? Let's be real. WWE pulled the trigger on alot of awesome shit at MITB. It continued at RAW. But them pulling the trigger on the shield triple threat for Battleground instead of waiting until SS? Seems like they wouldn't go that far that fast.

I imagine that with his suspension ending just before Battleground that he will be written out of the match on the next RAW. At Battleground he will come out, fresh off his suspension, and watch the match from the announce table. And then he will interfere and cause a DQ. And then we get the triple threat at SS.

I've thought abiut it being a work as well. Like they seen the support that Titus got from his suspension and thought it might do the same for Reigns. Definitely feels like a work by letting him stick around til next week's Raw. I think if that's the case his suspension shouldn't start until then.

Doubt it since an outside company is in charge of the actual testing. If anything, they would stand to lose a lot of reputation if it gets revealed the WWE fakes results for storyline stuff or their own purpose.

If anything, Reigns is very lucky he got popped now and not after Battleground since he'd miss out on Summerslam for the suspension. Only a couple of ppvs each year has more than 30 days in between them.

Good riddance, send him back to mid card when he returns. He should have no place near the main event, terrible performer.

Seems insanely fucked up to suspend him, allow him to be on tv to be written off and allow him to come back in time to main event a PPV. Any goodwill he's gained with fans with his work over the past couple of months is flushed down the toilet.

Kinda defeats the purpose of being suspended. Fails presumably a ped test yet will be on tv for another week and gets to take home a check for the next ppv. Pretty lax suspension.

I'd like to see Roman Reigns come out on RAW next week and say that he doesn't deserve special treatment -- he broke the rules because he got pushed to a new level as champion, and he's got to take responsibility for it. The crowd will be cheering Reigns' absence and basically mocking the promo. Reigns can look at them in disgust and then just shake his head, toss the mic and walk out.

Battleground is Ambrose vs. Rollins for the belt. Reigns can return as a heel either after that match or during it, revealing that his suspension was over, stealing the title from his former buddy.

If someone takes out Reigns next week, who do you think it is? Lesnar? Triple H? Jericho? Corbin?

Feel like writing him off with a storyline attack is the wrong thing to do. Just admit he got suspended and go on with it. People already know he's suspended so writing him off would be kind of dumb.

Based on Smackdown spoilers, this seems to be what will actually happen. I'm just hoping they're not stupid enough to put the championship back on him at Battleground. Part of me believes they can't possibly be that dumb, but the rest of me has suffered through the past year of his booking.

But, like, holy shit--you thought he was hated before for being the "anointed one?" Just wait until he comes back from a personal fuck-up that would have torpedoed anyone else and takes the belt from the scrappy underdog everyone's wanted to see win it for the past year and a half? Oof.

Yeah, Reigns is getting the belt back at Battleground. Belt is only off of him until the 30 days suspension is up.

There's nothing about how Roman has been booked to suggest otherwise. Obviously I don't think he should be champ, but if they want to gain him some traction, why not just have the 3-way at Summerslam?

Even so, even people with a decent memory will remember Cena and Reigns losing completely. I don't think it helps your argument when you compare the face of the company with the man being groomed to take over as such. Even moreso when you consider both involved the main company title changing hands.

Shane could take Reigns out of the Battleground Triple Threat leading to a match between the two at SummerSlam. Would it be fun to see Shane bounce around for Reigns?

UGH, I hope not. It took SOFA KING long to get Ambrose as champ that I'd actually prefer to see him drop the belt no sooner than the September PPV (whether that's Backlash or Clash of Champions), and IMHO, he should drop it to Rollins and Reigns should piss off to mid-card Hell.

Reigns is not ready to be a main event player.

And yet, when Vince feels he's ready to take Cena's spot he's going to shove Reigns down our throats, because goodness knows he's already shoved the suppository that was his Survivor Series title win over Ambrose in the tournament finals up the WWE Universe's collective ass.

I'm hoping this suspension cools the jets on Reigns a little bit. A program with Jericho or something would be fine. Kevin Owens is another guy that could have a good rivalry with Reigns and help further prep him without putting so much pressure on the guy.

Hmm...well I don't know about an extended program or anything, but the thought occurs that if done well enough, a Zayn vs. Reigns match might be fun.
