I remember how stunned the live crowd was at Taker losing (and how stunned I was watching on my laptop). Without D-Bry's amazing comeback story, would WWE have lost the live crowd at WMXXX when Taker lost? On a similar note, if WWE goes with Undertaker vs Roman this year, and if, hypothetically, Roman defeats Undertaker, is there any match WWE could put on that could possibly win the crowd back? I see Roman getting the frostiest WM reception yet if he goes up against Taker.

If Bryan had lost the main event, the crowd would've booed the show off the air.

If they actually went on with the originally scheduled borefest that was going to be an Orton/Batista main event, I truly feel like a lot of people would've left before the match was even finished. Might've even seen people just leave after Taker lost.

Yes and probably the whole event would have been a train wreck in terms of crowd reactions if Bryan lost the match against Triple H so he never gets put into the main event.

Brock only goes over Taker if they have a happy ending to the show. By this point they knew that Bryan was that happy ending. I'm sorry that sounds like a dodge, but if they had decided that they absolutely were going with their Rumble plans, I think Batista beats Orton and Taker beats Brock. If they put Reigns against Taker, I think they know that he is going to be booed out of the building. As a main event it will flop more than being a lower match. It will piss fans off more than it will deflate them. Taker's streak is gone and it is never coming back. The crowd will probably be super-psyched for the guys they do believe in -- guys like Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and AJ Styles.

If the plan really is to do Taker/Reigns and Brock/Goldberg, I think Brock/Goldberg goes on after it.

I really want to experience the Mania XXX where they did the Batista/Orton main event as planned. Seriously did they honestly think that match was worthy of headlining a WrestleMania.

I'd rather seen that than the shit show that we got with Bryan. Bryan beating 3 future Hall of Famers in one night just wasn't believable to me. Although Daniel Bryan will probably get in the Hall of Fame as well due to injury. Orton vs Batista is a Mania main event worthy match though. I would have loved to seen the original plans as well then maybe I wouldn't consider WM30 one of the worst of all time.

And Dave and Orton would have headlocked one another for 15 minutes before some bullshit table spot that nobody would have bought, with double digit false finishes that nobody would have bought.

I don't think Orton/Batista is a big enough match to headline Mania in 2014. Even during their respective primes in the mid to late 00s I struggle to see that headlining a Mania.

Hogan vs The Rock was dope because it was believable. A cruiserweight beating 3 of the best heavyweights ever wasn't. Fans can like it all they want but to me it's the worst Mania of all time.

The right booking would have been what they did with HHH and Reigns and had Bryan beat HHH in the main event because that was the feud.

I will say, in retrospect I think the booking was ass backwards.

HHH should have been champion and Bryan should have had a guaranteed shot in the main event. He should have LOST the opener in a match again Bautista (HHH would have booked this to stack odds against him) where he fights like a plucky young underdog but gets his salad tossed and powerbombed to mfing hell.

In the main event he could have beat HHH with that awesome knee after fighting from underneath the whole time where HHH's arrogance costs him in the end.

Then after that, you have a Bautista vs Bryan feud, HHH vs Bryan can keep going as well and you don't have that awful Kane vs Bryan feud
