Jeeze, how long they been sitting on this tape library for?

Bad News Gertner 03-15-2017 02:10 PM

That looks amazing

#1-norm-fan 03-15-2017 02:13 PM

lol Goddammit, this looks a million times more entertaining than actual wrestling right now. Take my money, WWE. You done good.

#1-norm-fan 03-15-2017 02:15 PM

Hopefully this is where Johnny Curtis becomes a star when he outshines everyone else as a 70's wrestling manager with a comb over.

Jordan 03-15-2017 03:01 PM

LOL YESSSS

XL 03-15-2017 03:35 PM

So what is this? Looks great, but I've never heard of it.

slik 03-15-2017 03:49 PM

What is this...

owenbrown 03-15-2017 04:06 PM

WWE Twitter get hacked?! :wtf:

#BROKEN Hasney 03-15-2017 04:12 PM

Yeah it got hacked and they got a bunch of WWE Superstars to act like they're in a 70's region wrasslin show.

C'mon owenbrown, use your head.

Shisen Kopf 03-15-2017 04:53 PM

This looks hilarious.

oh maybe I should watch the damn video  because I thought it was one of those damn backyard tard feds again.

owenbrown 03-15-2017 05:37 PM

having said that.... lol that video

Dark One 03-15-2017 06:06 PM

I have literally no idea what this is.

But I do know that it is easily the greatest thing in professional wrestling.

Also, Sex Ferguson appears to be in this, which makes it DOUBLY the greatest thing in professional wrestling.

XL 03-15-2017 06:57 PM

I was gonna ask if Sex was in it!

Emperor Smeat 03-15-2017 07:18 PM

 That was great.

Cool King 03-15-2017 08:45 PM

That looks amazing.

AirJordanFan93 03-15-2017 10:23 PM

My god. This looks like the best original content they have made for the Network.

Vastardikai 03-15-2017 10:46 PM

If this is mostly the boys doing their own thing goofing off, then it could actually prove once and for all the need to fire the writers.

Always over-reacting. Check your attitude at the door mister.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-16-2017 03:22 AM

Cena as a Lance Russell parody

#BROKEN Hasney 03-16-2017 04:23 AM

I wonder if there's going to be actual wrestling in this. I mean, I'm down for whatever, but if they actually had a full wrestling show it would be on another level.

#1-norm-fan 03-16-2017 02:48 PM

Obviously the matches would just be a joke, never last more than a few minutes and feature nothing but low/no-risk moves. But I really do hope they go all out with it. In fact, just replace Raw with this.

Big Vic 03-16-2017 02:58 PM

This seems to fit the Hardys.

Bad News Gertner 03-16-2017 03:02 PM

To be a proper Southern Territory they must have the wrestlers hitting on 15 year old rats.

Also, they have to have loser rides a mule and loser gets tarred and feathered matches.

And every match is a bloodbath

Heisenberg 03-16-2017 03:06 PM

Something to stream at work tomorrow, very nice

Dark One 03-16-2017 05:40 PM

Apparently Sex Ferguson will be Tex Ferguson.

I think I'm okay with this, although I'm guessing he won't be able to talk about cocaine and hookers, which is a bit of a downer.

rez 03-16-2017 06:25 PM

I was bamboozled. I thought this was some bullshit backyard trampoline shit until I hit the play button. cheers, WWE.

There was a pitch for Southpaw floating around within WWE as far back as September of last year.

Luke Gallows will be reprising his "Sex Ferguson" character, which he portrayed on a few Highspots.com DVD releases, but the character will be rechristened "Tex Ferguson" on the Southpaw show.

But... that can't be it...

Did Big Bartholomew get his farm back? Did Tex get revenge on his former best friend? Did Suzy ever return Chet Chetterson's call?

Leave it to WWE to build up storylines and then end them with a whimper. Fucking fucks.

Bad News Gertner 03-17-2017 11:36 AM

Lol Jericho took that wrestlers not holding the mic bit from Ed Whalen

The MAC 03-17-2017 11:50 AM

Fucking love the logo jingle for SouthPaw Wrestling.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-17-2017 12:58 PM

So damn good. Shame they're just short ad spots. Hope the reception is good enough for a short Netwwork series with half hour shows and a dumb match in there.

The MAC 03-17-2017 01:01 PM

If they ran this as a parody show with about 6 to 10 guys it would be great. However it would probably draw better than smackdown LOL.

Bring Matt Hardy in and have him destroy South Paw

#BROKEN Hasney 03-17-2017 01:08 PM

I'm probably being really dumb, but who is Chet played by?

I'm gonna need them to do Lethal Leap Year as a whole show. This has to keep going, it's too good not to.

On second thought, Johnny Curtis is so money at everything he does that I can see how you could get caught up and have a tough time linking him to his character.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Everyone else is recognisable, but he just kinda sinks into it.

Cenas hilarious as well. It'll never happen, but Curtis and Cena should pair up for more stuff.. Or a buddy cop movie.

screech 03-17-2017 01:50 PM

That was incredible. I want more!

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 01:53 PM

I couldn't tell who the champion was. TJ Perkins I think.

Also curious who the masked luchador was.

Simple Fan 03-17-2017 01:56 PM

Watched the first 2 videos, pretty funny. I'll watch the other two later. This would be great for a WWE Network show. Was Tyler Breeze Mr. McElroy?

Maluco 03-17-2017 02:09 PM

Laughed at Greg Valentine going over to Tex house and putting him in an armbar for 2 1/2 hours lol

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 02:11 PM

Upon further inspection, I think the masked luchador was Luke Harper.

Evil Vito 03-17-2017 03:23 PM

Johnny Curtis should be in as many things like this as possible, especially if they're barely going to use him on television.

He and Heath Slater are so similar for me in terms of guys I thought were the blandest people possible when I first saw them in NXT, now they're two of my favorites on the roster because they're absolutely hilarious whenever given the opportunity.

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 03:25 PM

You thought Johnny Curtis was bland on NXT? NXT was the first place I recognized him as the ideal pro wrestling superstar. The guy blew everyone out of the water from a charisma/likability standpoint every week.

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 03:32 PM

Heath Slater on the other hand did always come off as awkward and unnatural as fuck. His try hard-ness can lead to some comedy though.

Evil Vito 03-17-2017 03:36 PM

I'm talking strictly NXT Season 4 Johnny Curtis. He was portrayed as a totally generic babyface. I thought Brodus Clay and Derrick Bateman blew him out of the water that season in terms of personality and I could not understand at all how Curtis won it.

Then he did a bunch of weird ass SmackDown vignettes which amounted to nothing.

When he came back to NXT (after they abandoned the competition format) he became Creepy Curtis and that's when I realized how good he actually was.

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 03:39 PM

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/70us8fe94Fg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

From that moment it had to be either him or Brodus. They were the only ones who didn't come off as ridiculously cringe-worthy.

XL 03-17-2017 03:51 PM

I'm in the same boat as Vito on this one; didn't see any appeal in JC on NXT, but fell in love with him for his SmackDown vignettes.

Evil Vito 03-17-2017 03:54 PM

That wasn't Bateman's best work but I thought he shined best during his Bryan segments anyway.

I remember feeling gutted for Brodus when he cut the best promo of the entire season during the finale and still lost. Wasn't much of a surprise to me that they immediately put him on the main roster with Del Rio while Curtis still took months to debut formally.

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 03:58 PM

Bateman's bromance with Bryan/obviously cheating in competitions was entertaining. As a performer though I never could stand him. The way he over-enunciates when he talks is so annoying to me. Similar to the same problem I always had with Slater. Always seems like he's over-acting to try to make up for not being comfortable on the mic.

Evil Vito 03-17-2017 04:04 PM

Hmm, never even noticed that tbh. Always just chalked it up to the fact that they were supposed to be playing bombastic over-the-top characters.

Evil Vito 03-17-2017 04:06 PM

When Bateman explained the planned Mr. USA gimmick on Colt Cabana's podcast, I got sad that it never made it to TV.

He was going to come out, pose on the ramp as some American hero with pyro and explosions just going off everywhere. Then they'd go to commercial and when it came back he'd still be standing there with explosions going off.

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 04:10 PM

lol I actually started a game with the new TEW a few weeks ago and transitioned him into the Mr. USA gimmick.

Dark One 03-17-2017 06:32 PM

Sea Creature inspiration:

#1-norm-fan 03-17-2017 06:37 PM

My only problem with this series was I wish they hadn't tried to add jokes to it outside of just parodying the era. Tyler Breeze being like "Trespassing? How can I be trespassing... WHEN I OWN IT???" was hilarious. But then when he kept stopping his evil laugh in order to fix his mustache it was like "Meh..."

Simple Fan 03-17-2017 09:44 PM

Ha, wasn't even a leap year. This was good, would make a good WWE Network show I think.

Droford 03-17-2017 09:48 PM

Looking back, WWE really dodged a big bullet since it probably would have been a lot better and iconic than Mania III.

Ultra Mantis 03-18-2017 01:12 PM

Johnny Curtis is just the best.

Maluco 03-18-2017 01:18 PM

Something like this shows me the potential of some of these undercard guys. There is real personality there.

It was when the constraints were lifted and guys were given more freedom character wise that the attitude era made things so watchable.

I understand it's a massive company and they have to have some semblance of control...But let some of these guys get creative and just see what happens.

The majority of them are not doing anything anyway

Simple Fan 03-18-2017 03:56 PM

Would be cool to do it documentary style and have them in character for like a Rise and Fall of Southpaw Regional Wrestling as a Network show.

Outsider 03-18-2017 10:03 PM

This needs a network special so badly.

Also, KFC needs to bring Georgia Gold to the UK.

I don't know about everyone else but for me personally...

I think he could/should be a megastar. So saying "Fandango should be the next John Cena" makes it sound (to some people at least) like his current gimmick is WrestleMania main event caliber. So I say "Johnny Curtis" when singing his praises so I don't have to make that silly distinction.

That being said, I love him as Fandango, too. He's good at everything.

Super likable. Not remotely awkward or uncomfortable on camera or in front of a crowd. Would make the company look like a million bucks on talk shows and stuff via his personality.

And none of this is even getting into how amazing he was on the later season of NXT as "Creepy" Johnny Curtis.

Yeah, this. Don't listen to STD's lies. He was so good as Johnny Curtis that just calling him Fandango would be like referring to Randy Orton as "The Viper" or Stone Cold as "The Texas Rattlesnake".

Whether you like the "Fandango" persona or you don't, just watch anything of him in character, especially the backstage stuff where he's allowed more freedom and you can see that he absolutely owns it to ridiculous levels. Most entertaining guy on the roster.
