Punisher

I want this so bad.

Don't talk about the show. Just console me for a bit. Compliments welcome.

Lock Jaw 05-15-2017 08:21 PM

Feel like Daredevil season 2 was maybe the first time I enjoyed Punisher..... I like the whole "brain damage" angle they added to him.....

I will check out his series, but think he might be best as a supporting character/loose cannon and not as the focus of an entire series......

Swiss Ultimate 05-15-2017 08:58 PM

I enjoyed the ultraviolence. Punisher's acting was a cut above too, so that helped.

Swiss Ultimate 05-15-2017 08:59 PM

I hated the movie and never read the comics.

Lock Jaw 05-15-2017 09:25 PM

Never saw the movies..... read some comics......

Just always thought/wondered why the heroes never threw his ass in jail and kept him there. Seemed like a villain that should be stopped quickly.

The "Max" series was better, as it was in a world without superheroes, but even then I just keep thinking "this guy should prob be in jail"

Swiss Ultimate 05-15-2017 09:30 PM

Oh definitely. The only way Punisher works is if corruption is nearly total and the mafia is running around like ISIS murdering people in the streets.

Swiss Ultimate 05-15-2017 09:33 PM

All vigilantes obsessed with non-lethal takedowns, but handing out broken necks and concussions like candy make me smile.

The Batman games were fun, but I pretty much assumed most of those people I knocked out were dying from brain bleeding.

Destor 05-15-2017 09:36 PM

Which book was it that kingpin was raped in? Whatever that was was the best punisher story...may have been Max

Swiss Ultimate 05-15-2017 10:14 PM

Holy fuck.

Which movie?

Swiss Ultimate 05-16-2017 02:42 PM

I never saw the straight to video one. The Dolph one sucked as did the one with Kevin Nash.

Swiss Ultimate 05-16-2017 02:44 PM

I actually own the ultraviolence one with Jigsaw. Filmed like a horror film.

Which straight to video one?

The Dolph one was the first one. There is no straight to video Punisher movie, unless we're talking cartoons.

alvarado52 05-16-2017 03:12 PM

He may be talking about Warzone? Im assuming so anyway since he clearly mentions Dolph and Jane's Punishers (by my count there's only three Punisher films, unless im forgettings something).

It wasn't straight to video.

Swiss is mistaking but he's reffering to Warzone as "straight to dvd"

Sixx 05-16-2017 03:42 PM

Oh.

I know most people say it was shit, but I really enjoyed it. It was super violent and had badass Ray Stevenson and not pretty boy Thomas Jane.

Sixx 05-16-2017 03:44 PM

Come on, you can't tell me this isn't art.

Destor 05-16-2017 03:57 PM

I liked it.

Rammsteinmad 05-16-2017 04:26 PM

Punisher: War Zone is an awesome movie! People watch a film titled "The Punisher" and expect The Shawshank Redemption. It's incredibly violent, brutal, and gritty, and Ray Stevenson was brilliant as Frank Castle. Just switch your brain off for a couple of hours and revel in senseless violence.

Fignuts 05-16-2017 05:02 PM

Yeah, warzone was great. The most comic accurate version thus far, though I love the Daredevil version too.

I thought the Thomas Jane version was a great revenge movie, but they totally missed the mark in their portrayal of the punisher. He's supposed to be psychologically unhinged, and emotionally detatched. Not sad and mopey.

Sixx 05-16-2017 05:05 PM

Yeah, I liked the Jane version as well, it just didn't feel like a Punisher movie.

Also, his backstory was ridiculous. Instead of his wife and kids dying, the bad guys wiped out like 40 Castle family members. And that skull t-shirt he got from his kid...

Rammsteinmad 05-16-2017 06:35 PM

I do think the Daredevil version of Punisher was by far the best portrayal though, but that's due to having plenty more than two hours to develop the character.

Yeah out of the 3 films, liked Warzone the most since it fit the character the best.

The Jane version was somewhat decent as an origins type story but agree about the transition to the actual Punisher character not being great.

Been a long time since seeing the Lundgren version but think it also did a better job with the actual character itself.

Swiss Ultimate 05-19-2017 09:23 PM

So Warzone had a theatrical release?

Emperor Smeat 05-19-2017 10:30 PM

Yeah but it was really bad in terms of box office revenues.

It also grossed $2,049,059 internationally, bringing it to $10,100,036 worldwide, making it a box office bomb comparing to its $35 million budget.

Add another $10 million in DVD sales and it only made a little over $20 million in the US.

Wow. Being deployed takes you out of the loop.

Yep I saw it opening night. Had to drive a bit over an hour to find a theater playing it. Damn great film. Made up for the abortion that was the THomas Jane Punisher.

Swiss Ultimate 05-25-2017 04:27 PM

He was too nice.

Hated his neighbors so much. Hated the popsicle scene too.

November.

Swiss Ultimate 09-05-2017 07:48 PM

I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.

NINJAS DON'T DO IT FOR ME ANYMORE.

slik 09-20-2017 03:31 PM

Looks good!

Swiss Ultimate 09-20-2017 03:37 PM

SO FUCKING GOOD. NO NINJAS ANYWHERE.

Kalyx triaD 09-20-2017 03:45 PM

That's a hot trailer. Hope he gets a hallway fight/oner fight scene.

El Vaquero de Infierno 09-20-2017 04:27 PM

Punisher and Metallica = I'm sold!

Swiss Ultimate 09-20-2017 08:05 PM

HE IS SO DAMAGED.

Blonde Moment 09-20-2017 09:40 PM

One and half million views already

JimmyMess 09-20-2017 10:45 PM

that may have been one of the best trailers I've ever seen, movie or tv.

Swiss Ultimate 09-21-2017 08:35 AM

I'M HOPING FOR OCTOBER RELEASE, ALTHOUGH I THINK IT MIGHT BE NOVEMBER.

Rammsteinmad 09-21-2017 10:48 AM

Fucking brilliant trailer, and syncing the onscreen action to 'One' was really creative and well done. Can't wait for this!

Swiss Ultimate 09-21-2017 02:50 PM

I WANT THIS NOW... RIGHT NOW.

Lock Jaw 09-21-2017 03:21 PM

I hope Punisher isn't straight up presented as a hero in this

Swiss Ultimate 09-21-2017 03:34 PM

DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT.

KIRA 09-21-2017 04:08 PM

Am I the only one that enjoyed the Tomas Jane Punisher?
The fight with Nash is one of my favorite fights ever.
And his killing Saint is sooo satisfying.

Emperor Smeat 09-21-2017 04:52 PM

His buildup to becoming the Punisher was great but he didn't really feel like the character afterwards.

Ray Stevenson was a better Punisher in terms of the actual character.

Kalyx triaD 09-21-2017 05:00 PM

Jane-Punisher was a better film overall, tho. Technically speaking.

What Jon-Punisher does it take the complexities of Frank Castle and have in a technically sound production that's not merely gratuitous in presenting the violence of Punisher's side of the Marvel universe. There's even a pinch of Dolph-Punisher there with the 'man who doesn't die' mythological angle.

Swiss Ultimate 09-21-2017 05:17 PM

THIS PUNISHER IS A MAN POSSESSED BY A FORCE OF FUCKING NATURE. HE'S SO RUTHLESS AND UNRELENTING, BUT AT HE SAME TIME BELIEVABLE AS A HUMAN BEING WHO JUST GOT HIS LIFE UTTERLY BROKEN AND IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE IT GO AWAY.

Sixx 09-22-2017 06:04 AM

I liked the Jane version as an action movie. I really don't buy it as a Punisher film. And the beginning was stupid as fuck, they killed like 40 Castle family members. His backstory is supposed to be dark, this was just ridiculous.

Kalyx triaD 09-22-2017 06:10 AM

I'd call watching your whole family die at a reunion fairly dark.

RP 09-22-2017 11:58 AM

I want lots of blood and lots of bullets

Swiss Ultimate 09-22-2017 12:09 PM

YOUR WISH IS GRANTED.

I SAW THE JANE PUNISHER ON DVD AT THE END OF BOOT CAMP. MY MOM HAD JUST DIED AND I REMEMBER THINKING IT WAS JUST SUPER WEAK. NO EDGE TO IT AT ALL.

IT WAS ENTERTAINING ENOUGH.

Swiss Ultimate 10-02-2017 10:27 PM

I'm tired of waiting.

Kalyx triaD 10-04-2017 09:20 PM

NYCC panel was canceled in response to the shooting. Wonder if others will follow. Also probably means the footage was gonna be wicked.

Swiss Ultimate 10-12-2017 07:20 PM

Punisher ultraviolence is going to be on par with Daredevil season 2.

Baby Punisher would be awesome.

RP 11-13-2017 12:04 PM

I just think he skipped shoulder day to be honest.

Kalyx triaD 11-13-2017 09:55 PM

He's wearing a vest.

It's out now.

Sixx 11-17-2017 07:06 AM

Oh, awesome. Didn't know shows on netflix are out that early in the morning.

Kalyx triaD 11-17-2017 07:11 AM

Technically last night.

Destor 11-17-2017 12:24 PM

Notice that Swiss is not online. THAT MAN IS BINGING

slik 11-17-2017 12:53 PM

I'm looking forward to watching this later

Sixx 11-17-2017 12:58 PM

Downloading now.

Lock Jaw 11-17-2017 01:00 PM

Watched the first episode. Enjoyed it.

Sixx 11-17-2017 01:14 PM

IMMENSELY!?

Helmsphere 11-17-2017 03:43 PM

Going to try to watch this when I can. Sadly a life issue came up. Girlfriend got knocked up and decided to terminate it. Not sure if this will be the best thing to lift my spirits

Sixx 11-17-2017 03:48 PM

You know when you put it this way it sounds like she got knocked up by someone else. :)

I knocked up my gf would be the safer way to put it.

Yeah totally worded that wrong. Was just kinda in shock to be honest, never have ever had a scare in my entire lifetime, then it just happened. I mean I just told her it was her choice and I feel she made the right choice. But I dunno, it keeps me up at night.

Destor 11-17-2017 05:37 PM

I doubt frank castle shoots any babies. I think youll be safe.

Sixx 11-17-2017 07:59 PM

I actually googled Bernthal shirtless. Cause I was just "whoah, how jacked he got for this"

Sixx 11-17-2017 07:59 PM

Good thing I'm single now, cause that could probably worry a bitch.

Destor 11-17-2017 08:46 PM

Ep 101 was very good

Sixx 11-17-2017 10:04 PM

Battle in ep. 3 is amazing.

Sixx 11-17-2017 10:14 PM

Anyone noticed Madani's desktop? Chuckled at this.

RP 11-17-2017 11:36 PM

I'm just 1 ep in. It was good. Not great, but good.

Kalyx triaD 11-18-2017 03:35 AM

>>> Eps 11.

Destor 11-18-2017 10:31 PM

110 was world class story telling

Destor 11-19-2017 01:10 AM

Finished it....so fucking good

Kalyx triaD 11-19-2017 04:12 AM

He needs to be in Defenders 2.

Destor 11-19-2017 09:28 AM

Nah put him in heros for hire 1. His interaction with DD is played out

Sixx 11-19-2017 11:12 AM

Why the hell would he be in Heroes for Hire?

Lock Jaw 11-19-2017 11:24 AM

Still only 3 episodes in, but keep him the F away from other heroes. He works so much better when he is off in his own corner. When he is with other heroes it is always just "why aren't they arresting this guy"

Sixx 11-19-2017 11:46 AM

Remember when in Civil War he joined Team Cap, saw two villains in the team and murdered them on the spot? That was glorious.

Sixx 11-19-2017 11:49 AM

About the show: NOT ENOUGH SKULL ON HIS CHEST!

I mean, I know it makes sense in the real world not to prance around with a huge skull on your chest when you're like public enemy number one, but still. I love that skull. :(

Yeh, well, of a completely different team using the name. Wouldn't make sense to just throw him in the with Luke Cage and Iron Fist getting paid to do shit.

Destor 11-19-2017 12:27 PM

Still better than rehashing the DD conflict

Destor 11-19-2017 12:27 PM

He'd be best ised asa guest star like kingpin in DD S2
