CM Punk offered 1 Million Dollars To Wrestle Again

5 Star Wrestling founder Daniel Hinkles has put out an offer to CM Punk to join their mega tournament tour ( 128 wrestlers over 30 weeks) :

"We've been trying to contact CM Punk on and off for well over a year. We wanted him on the first show we did in Edinburgh in 2015. I've tried going through friends in the industry, I've gone through his website and sent dozens of emails but the opportunity has never been this big. We want to offer CM Punk $1 million dollars (£770,000) to come and join the 5 Star Wrestling tour starting June 10. It's a genuine offer. We'd love to hear back from the man himself. We want to do this with him."

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-18-2017 04:08 PM

Do they know what a contract means?

RP 05-18-2017 04:09 PM

He's busy trying to win The Challenge.

Destor 05-18-2017 04:18 PM

Swiss Ultimate 05-18-2017 04:26 PM

Sounds legit.

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-18-2017 04:53 PM

Would a million cover his breach of UFC contract?

Maluco 05-18-2017 04:59 PM

I am sure UFC would release him from his contract of he wanted out. He is a terrible fighter and the reality is probably setting in that to fight again would risk embarrassment and that the UFC doesn't appear to be keen anyway .

I don't think he would ever get the money from this deal, but I doubt there is any question that he could walk if he wanted to

JimmyMess 05-18-2017 05:49 PM

Punk vs. Jason Ellis

DAMN iNATOR 05-18-2017 06:50 PM

:lol::lol:HAHAHA a million. Why would he take that when he could probably command $2-$5M for a year somewhere else that won't insult him with an offer?

Who is going to pay that exactly? $1 mil for 30 weeks is bonkers.

Swiss Ultimate 05-18-2017 08:36 PM

I'll take it.

Its be funny if he took it and only wrestled once

Ruien 05-18-2017 10:59 PM

Would CM Punk bring in that much revenue?

The question you would have to ask yourself is it worth it as a lanch pad, is your product good enough that you could snowball and recover it down the road.

Because no, in 39 weeks you will not get that back.

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-18-2017 11:47 PM

I thought the latest rumor was he was signing with NWA?

Destor 05-18-2017 11:53 PM

Im sure there was a rumor about him signing with literally everyone.

Lock Jaw 05-19-2017 12:24 AM

I signed him earlier this week

Does UFC have a non-compete with all pro-wrestling promotions? Not considering the legal issues, it wouldn't surprise me if they did, just not sure if that's the case or not.

Funny, I heard he'd resigned with Impact Wrestling. You work for them now?

Sixx 05-19-2017 09:25 AM

I want to see him getting dismantled in the UFC again.

Yeah but he brought in a lot PPV buys

Rammsteinmad 05-19-2017 09:59 AM

Am I the only one that thinks a 30-week tournament is excessive? I'd lose interest after about a month.

Yeah, you gotta think long-term. I'm sure they know they wouldn't make their money back DIRECTLY from having Punk on the show but if it were to get enough eyes on them to where they're making more fans to give them more money for years to come, it would be worth it.

That being said, it probably wouldn't work out that well.

#1-norm-fan 05-19-2017 11:10 AM

I would like to see Billy Corgan get Punk involved with the new NWA though. He would be an awesome face of that brand to build on.

Nope. Tournies should be no longer than the G1 which is too long for my taste to begin with.

Rammsteinmad 05-20-2017 07:03 AM

How long is that? Five or six weeks?

Cool King 05-20-2017 09:38 AM

This could all be a cunning plan to just sell tickets.

The "Early Bird" tickets for their shows were £15 and were available for a good while but as soon as CM Punk was even mentioned, a few of their events had sold out of their "Early Bird" tickets almost instantly.

Nothing is set in stone but just mentioning the possibility of CM Punk appearing (even though that possibility is incredibly low), has managed to sell a bunch of tickets for a few of their events.

Now, I planned on grabbing a few of those tickets myself but my friends were being assholes and didn't get back to me in time if they were up for going or not, so now the "Early Bird" tickets are sold out for Dundee.

Now, I just plan on waiting to see who will be officially announced for the event and see if it's worth my £30 or not.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-21-2017 03:13 PM

I am delighted to announce that @CMPunk will participate in our 128 man tournament starting June 10th in Liverpool. Get your tickets now!

https://mobile.twitter.com/DanielHin...56005843718145

I don't buy it and if they haven't signed him, way to look like a cunt before bombing on UK national TV with the deal they've got.

Fucking carnies

#BROKEN Hasney 05-21-2017 03:15 PM

10pm UK time tonight. Hear from #5StarWrestlings newest participant @CMPunk in the 128 man tournament live via our official facebook page.

Might be a fake account entirely now that I think about it. No-one has verified him?

Swiss Ultimate 05-21-2017 03:16 PM

CM Punk is too old to be the face of anything.

Cool King 05-21-2017 03:17 PM

I'll need a photo of CM Punk holding a <s>TPWW</s> 5StarWrestling sign before I buy any tickets.

CM Punk should sign with Lucha Underground just because.

CM Punk is still alive in the Challenge. He beat Shawn Merriman

They have a TV deal in the UK and have John Morrison and Rey Mysterio as regulars. I guess they feel if they could do something as attention grabbing as getting Punk, it would be worth the marketing cost.

Moose Knuckle 05-28-2017 10:38 AM

Ahh. I didn't know that. Still, that's a lot of money for one person, and a lot of faith to put in Punk, Morrison, and Mysterio. Especially in 2017.

mike adamle 05-28-2017 10:39 AM

I think they should get CM Punk in the tourney and have him lose in the first round

Moose Knuckle 05-28-2017 10:41 AM

That would really be worth the million.

They have a tv Deal?

Yeah. They had an event on Channel 5 Spike UK a couple of months back and the 128 man tournament is going to be on there too.

Moose Knuckle 05-28-2017 02:07 PM

Jesus, 128 participants? Is there anyone other than John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, and possibly CM Punk in there that anyone has actually heard of?

If thats your reaction to people you've never heard of how will ever hesr of new people

Moose Knuckle 05-28-2017 03:52 PM

I was mostly asking so I could hear who the other participants were, not because I was uninterested in seeing the newer talent. But obviously having talent in there that I've heard of is going to draw me into the product more than people I've never heard of. It's up to those new guys (and the ones I've heard of) to deliver and keep me drawn into the product though.

That and I figure they'd have more people I've heard of if their willing to offer one of them a million dollars.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-28-2017 04:09 PM

They were supposed to have McIntyre but obviously not now. Looking at who they've had on other events, probably RVD, Carlito, Magnus, Moose and some other Lucha Underground/AAA talent.

There's 30 shows throughout the UK for the brackets with the final in Manchester. Not sure if all of them will be televised, but if they are, it's quite cool as like a "season" of TV or whatever.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-28-2017 04:26 PM

Oh, here's the first night poster:

They're actually running in the biggest arenas in the country, basically all the arenas WWE do. That's some goddamn confidence.

This is everyone announced so far based on recent reports. More already signed up but didn't get publicly announced yet.

Hopefully he has another EPIC entrance like he did at Bound For Glory

#BROKEN Hasney 06-01-2017 08:47 AM

Whole show isn't happening due to the Manchester bomb for some reason. Even though they're not there until December.

It can't be that the shows had barely sold any tickets in their huge arenas and they were looking for a way out or anything.

JimmyMess 06-01-2017 09:02 AM

Haha cancelled. Fuckin twats!

Cool King 06-01-2017 02:35 PM

Everything has been rescheduled for February next year.

Cool King 06-01-2017 02:35 PM

Maybe CM Punk isn't available until then.

Hope he has a few MMA fights in the meantime. Loved the last one.

Considering how pissed off some of the talent is, it might be a 1 man tournament if it actually happens
