First match was good... idk about putting on another multi-team tag match right after though... but at least it was kinda short. This show seems like it will be very long...

Juice vs Sabre Jr was pretty good overall.

I wonder if they do some sort of bait-and-switch and have Billy Gunn subbed out by one of the other guys in the match to give Tanahashi something with more meat?

Heard bad reviews of the Tanahashi and team versus Billy Gunn and team tag.

Finlay (or Finaly as he was called) was decent. Tempura Boys were good. Tanahashi is limited right now. Gunn was God Awful.

Match wasn't that good overall even by NJPW multi-man standards and Tanahashi didn't really do anything in the match.

Seems NJPW just wanted to save Tanahashi from doing any real work till tomorrow.

God, that's a shame. It's not like I expected him to be good, but I was hopeful that this would be an opportunity for him to give it his all and let himself be carried to something that wasn't offensive. I had a perverse joy in seeing him and Tanahashi. Now I am worried.

I know its a staple of NJPW and all but I'm not digging all the 10 man tags..

Like Triple A said its for the IWGP title but this weekend is more like a pre-G1 appitizer event than the actual tournament itself.

There were rumors for a while about NJPW wanting 2 days of the actual tournament to be in the US before changing their mind. Still kept the G1 name since most of the people involved are in the tournament.

2nd half of the show specifically Tag Title Match Omega/Elgin Ishii/Nsito and Cody/Okada was a really good 2 hours. The first half I could have done without other than the ZSJr match

ZSJ vs Ishii intrigues me.

I thought the Los Ingovernables vs Team Liger match was pretty strong. Lethal vs Page wasn't quite as good as some of the second half matches, but it told a good story with lethals injured ribs.

Glad Okada won, but Cody went a long way in proving he could one day win the title.

Pleasantly surprised by the Ishii upset.

Never been a Juice Robinson fan, but he impressed me a great deal tonight. Love Sabre Jrs work but god damn, would it kill him to bulk up a little bit?

Omega vs Elgin stealing the show. Incredible match.

Oh and Jim Ross is still amazing. When Cody hit the rainmaker, JR's reaction was so great, that for a split second he made me think Cody might have won it.

Impressed with the crowd too. Thought there would be a bunch of smarks putting themselves over with stupid bullshit chants, but everyone was just supporting wrestlers and booing heels. Kudos, LA.

Saw/listened to the main event on kind of a bad quality feed. Did JR slip up and call Cody "Rhodes" a couple times or was I hearing things?

Just finished watching the show. I liked the flow of thr card, first match was your typical ROH style match which was a decent opener. 2nd match was a showcase of lucha libre and I enjoyed it. Lethal/Page was ok. My least favorite match was the tag match with Billy Gunn. I get hes a big name in America and all and probably be a quick squash for Tanahashi but Billy looked bad. Juice vs Sabre Jr was better than I thought it would be. Realky impressed by Juice and Sabre Jr. looked vetter than he did in CWC. G.O.D vs War Machine was a good match but Omega/Elgin stole the show. I liked the story the main event told with Cody not really taking Okada serious while Kenny knows Okada is no joke.

I've heard ROH commentators call him Rhodes as well. I believe as long as he isn't billed as Cody Rhodes and Rhodes doesnt appear on anything visual or merchandise its fine.

"Rhodes" has more value as a wrestling name and probably as a way to still fight to try to get the rights to use it. Whole situation revolves around him being upset the WWE never really let him honor his father after his passing and not allowing to do so normally on the indies.
