:( :'(
It's been a long-time coming with his ill-health for the last 15 years. Terrible. He was the best. |
Dammit :( Not the Brain :(
|
Damn. The GOAT. Sad day.
|
Fuck.
|
The greatest manager of all time hands down.
|
Will you stop. :(
|
God dammit. At least he's no longer suffering.
|
Lots of childhood memories , sad day .
|
:'(
|
This is not fair to Brain :(
|
Sad. But I'm happy he doesn't have to suffer anymore.
|
|
I don't normally comment on deaths, but this one moves me to that point. What a legend.

Watching the 92 Rumble now. The Hart brothers vs Shawn Michaels & co is up next, followed by the gimmick battle royal.
|
Heenan: Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape!
Monsoon: Are you blind?!!? Heenan: What an act of cowardism <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/rh3lMbCJd1cM8" width="480" height="372" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/happy-birthday-shawn-michaels-marty-jannetty-rh3lMbCJd1cM8">via GIPHY</a></p> |
Heenan and Monsoon reunited again :(
|
RIP
One of the greats |
:(
|
RIP
He was an absolutely amazing manager pretty much in a class all his own |

His wit was something to behold. It's a shame we will never see anything like him again for a litany of reasons, but that's what made him so special.
|
Glad he's no longer suffering, sad to see him go.
|
Hopefully he provides a perfect heel foil to that bland white mean babyface, Jesus.

I just saw this on FB before I heading in to work.
Honestly, kinda bittersweet about it. Obviously sad he's gone, but with the deteriorated state he was in, it seems kinder that he's passed. Imagine, the full breadth of his quick wit and sharp tongue being mostly locked away inside his wasting shell. I likened it before to a world class pianist having to amputate all their digits, robbing the world of such gifts. So sad that another chunk of my childhood is gone from the world. If one is so inclined to believe in the afterlife, Gino is at the gates, and Tazz Dan is getting one heck of a WWE Legends autograph session. |

Heenan: Wow...I'm in heaven, looks like all my good deeds paid off...
*sees Gorilla Monsoon* Heenan: Oh no it's Monsoon! This must be the other place! Monsoon: WILL YOU STOP!? |

Rest in peace, Bobby Heenan.
|
I'm sure we'll see an awesome video package in the coming days.....lucky enough to catch some of his career in the '80s and early '90s. Another piece of my childhood gone. So long you humanoid.

Just listened to the Bobby Heenan episode of Tony Schiavone's podcast a few days ago, and some of those stories and jokes were hilarious.
Like the one where Bobby asked a lady if he could smell her pussy and when she said no, he replied "oh, must be your feet then." RIP Brain |
Considering how ill he looked physically, I'm surprised this didn't happen years ago! Despite all of that, in videos of fan encounters he always seemed positive, even when he could barely speak. R.I.P.
|
Heenan LOVED meeting fans. It's why he kept going to coventions , even when he was really sick. I've got so much Heenan stuff in my collection that I'm going to have to go through.
|
RIP
WWE has to give him a video package tonight right?..... I mean if they gave Snuka one.... |

ANd if they don't?
Fuck them. |
Like everyone else, I'm partially sad and partially relieved for him. Greatest manager of all time. Greatest color commentator of all time. And my favorite voice in wrestling. It takes me back to the very beginning of my own fandom and every time I put on a show on the network and hear him call matches, I get the feels....that will never change.
RIP Brain |
The 92 Royal Rumble match is my favourite Rumble match of all time for two major reasons: 1) The performance of Ric Flair in the ring and 2) the performance of Bobby Heenan on commentary. As has been said, the greatest colour commentator of all time, one of the most memorable wrestling personalities to be on TV and, by all accounts, a good man.
If there is such a thing as the afterlife, then Monsoon will have been waiting for him at the Gorilla Position aka the Pearly Gates of Heaven. |
Really sad but at the same time it's a release for him, he's been battling cancer on and off since 2002, the body can only take so much and aging doesn't help matters. It was sad to see how much he had deteriorated but he still seemed to be in good spirits regardless.
:'( <blockquote class="twitter-video" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">In every category, we debate the "greatest of all time", but when it comes to Pro Wrestling managers, there is no debate. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BobbyHeenan?src=hash">#BobbyHeenan</a> <a href="https://t.co/8rVU42luoc">pic.twitter.com/8rVU42luoc</a></p>— IllegalForeignObject (@IFOWrestling) <a href="https://twitter.com/IFOWrestling/status/909560650938015744">September 17, 2017</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

Some Bobby from Georgia Championship Wrestling 1979
|
I want to poke fun about this death, but it really hits me because i grew up on Bobby Hennan. When he managed Andre to when he managed Mr. Perfect and when he was pro Flair in the 92 Rumble. I really loved Bobby Heenan. I think he was brilliant. I've been missing Bobby for the last 15 years or so. Guys like the Rock or Austin can be replaced by big stars, but WWE has yet to be able to replace a Bobby Heenan. That says a lot. Rest in Peace Brain.
|
According to his obituary in the Tampa Bay Times, official cause of death for Heenan was organ failure due to his throat cancer.

Sad to see him go. Was great. RIP

Lol so Blackjack Lanza inducted Heenan. It's never shown because it was 20 minutes of Bobby Heenan being drunk stories that upset the family so much that Heenan's daughter was crying
