Like.......wouldn't you just have Finn team with Rollins and Ambrose? There's a high probability of a Shield/Club match in these next few months anyway so this could somehow build to that. That way you don't waste Angle's return in such a rushed, nonsensical way.

Somehow WWE manage to make the Kurt Angle in-ring return and a clash between former Bullet Club leaders suck.

These matches should be the culmination of months worth of build up.

Maybe if they’d not made one match so top heavy they could have spread the stars they have across the card.

They could have just run an angle with Bálor and come back to the match when Bray is good to go.

Fill a bit of time with Jinder making an appearance to “call out” Lesnar - knowing well that he’s not in attendance, and move the Kick Off matches to the main card.

It’s a B level PPV that won’t gain you any network subs because they’ve just given the rest of the year away for free.

Rumors are this could be a viral meningitis, but we're hearing that is FALSE and it's the story WWE wants to circulate.
There is a good possibility WWE will hotshot a storyline they were saving for way down the road and align Finn Balor and AJ Styles, forming "The Balor Club."
WWE was/is scrambling to fix this with any one they can. We're told even Daniel Bryan's name was in the mix, but he was likely told he'd lace up and go out, but wouldn't take any bumps and just stand on the apron the whole time. Bryan has been dying to get back into a WWE ring and there's no way he'd turn down anything promising that could lead to a full time in-ring return.
WWE has had 2 emergency meetings today already and are having another at 4:30 EST.
Kevin Owens is off the current Smackdown South America tour. We're being told it's unrelated and for personal reasons. However, it seems far too likely a coincidence that it happens the same day everything else is blowing up.
We're being told that in the next 30 days anything, with the exception of contracted ROH and NJPW workers, is possible right now.
NXT is being told to possibly prepare for not having Cole, Fish, O'Rielly, and Galloway.
Don't be shocked to see Lesnar pop up either. WWE isn't afraid to use an extra date on Lesnar and re-arrange the currently plans for him.

I think the issue in this thread here is you have people who are still emotionally invested in WWE storylines and characters, and then you have people like me and Hasney who have completely given up on that, and only watch for the matches themselves.

Sounds great. I wasn't as down on Bray doing the Sister Abigail stuff but Styles vs Balor is way better. Hopefully they get Gallows and Anderson involved some how. Angel returning is great as well and replacing Reigns makes it even better.

If you want to use these matches/return to ring action to boost PPV “buys” you don’t put it on with 2 days notice as a knee jerk reaction.

In kayfabe Kurt Angle got the news Roman wasn't available, and stood looking at his phone in bewilderment until he ran out of time and was just "F it, I'll do it myself"

Meh I just love the idea of him wrestling in a WWE ring. He'll be slower by a few steps, but he'll still be kurt. Plus, relatively fresher than he would have been during his TNA run. Will probably pull out a few extra stops.

I have no problem WWE doing this.

I have a problem with putting him in a TLC Match, a match that often includes Heinous bumps. So either they protect him and in turn, Rollins and Ambrose more then likely get injured.

Or we see Kurt's last match ever.

But none of the matches on this card or any card this year have had a decent build. The fact I haven't heard about this match being discussed for weeks in advance and having some crappy reason for the match means I'm much, much more excited than I would be with whatever build WWE would shit out.

In a perfect world, they wouldn't use Angle at all, I don't think they wanted to. It's a B-level PPV, no need for Angle.

Balor/Styles (if Vince lets them have their way) has the potential to bring the house down. And give NJPW a boost in Bullet Club merchandise sales. Even if it's a throwaway and the crowd is chanting "Bullet Club" during the whole match, it'll be something to see.

Angle stepping back in the ring is.........interesting. Strange move since this would have been the perfect chance to let Jason Jordan get a chance to prove himself since his storyline has gone completely nowhere since the Alpha breakup.

At least I don't think they have ever had a match but coming out of nowhere makes it intriguing. I'm sure they kill it and might even get the Good Brothers involved in someway, assuming they don't have the mumps as well.

Anyone complaining about the lack of build is assuming WWE would have been capable of a good build anyway. At this point, I say they cram everything they can into the next 6 months or so in a frenzy and then burn Titan Towers to the ground along with all known footage of Raw from the past 15 years.

I have been very uninterested in Finn Balor. Everyone here takes his load on the regular but I'm still trying to figure him out. He has an entrance where the fans can play a part, other than that I see a cruiserweight who plays dress up every now and then.

Well I am excited for this show to sat the least.

Although I'm excited about the "idea" behind the replacement of Angle for Reigns, I'm pretty sure I know how it's really gonna go... Angle does his entrance, blah blah blah, some one will sneak attack him (most likely Strowman or Kane) and he'll be carted to the back. Very doubtful that we'll see any offense or significant bumps from Kurt. I see this more of a PR-hype move than an actual match-booking move since it was promoted as The Shield's first match back together. I can't wait to see Angle's first legit match back, but this could set the seeds to it down the road. Kurt vs. Strowman or Kurt vs. Kane in a retirement match would be intriguing.

Styles vs. Balor = mind blown, so yeah, I'm excited to see how they handle the kayfabe storyline into bring AJ over. Maybe a favor for a favor thing between Shane & Steph or Shane & Kurt.

I am one of the biggest Kurt Angle marks and even I think this will be a shit show of a match where angle will be injured out early on or have little to no interaction with anyone or anything. AJ vs. Balor on TLC feels like prematurely ejaculating, sure you got the end result but it was a shitty, pointless ride.

AJ/Finn could easily set up something in the future and probably won't be a one off if it a program they are rushing for sake of sickness. Keeping them apart after the match could also be a good thing as its won't be a fued that is burnt out in 3 months. Then again they could easily find away to move AJ to Raw if they really wanted to go with that program now.
