Nice "New X-Men" costumes. Hope it is better than the last one, especially since it is probably the last in this series.

slik 09-27-2018 02:30 AM

Good trailer.

X-Men trailers always nail the music aspect.

Sixx 09-27-2018 02:37 AM

So Mystique is always gonna be one of the good guys, because it's Jennifer Lawrence?

Lock Jaw 09-27-2018 02:53 AM

J-Law can't be evil!

It's the one thing that I absolutely hate about this franchise. She may as well be a different character.

Anyway, looks alright I guess. Not super hyped though. Was never a huge fan of the story despite what a "classic" it is.

slik 09-27-2018 03:22 AM

I think this is still the best X-Trailer overall

Yeah. I mean she had her MOMENTS of being on the right side, but so did Sabretooth for example. Mystique is still a villain.

Don't know why they are even doing the story again..... seems like there are many memorable X-Men stories to draw from.... but instead they "go back to the well". Not even a "buffer movie" between introducing Jean Grey and Dark Phoenix.... introduced in one movie, evil heel turn story the very next.

Right. She's a selfish, manipulative cunt, who once in a great while has a smidge of compassion.

Jordan 09-27-2018 09:10 AM

Looks good but I probably won't see it.

Destor 09-27-2018 10:10 AM

Always hated the new X-Men suits.

Frank Drebin 09-27-2018 11:44 PM

Meh. Not that into this one.

Rammsteinmad 09-28-2018 07:56 AM

I just don't care. Feels like since the MCU really exploded this franchise is just meaningless now. Get the X-Men in the MCU already.

Also, the suits are a bit meh. I was excited at the end of Apocalypse coz I thought we'd finally see the 90's cartoon suits we all grew up with on the big screen.

Aw well. I love the X-Men though, and I'll still go and see it.

Destor 09-28-2018 09:32 AM

this will be the last of this canon of films for sure.

slik 09-28-2018 11:34 AM

I'm not sure how I feel about the eventual MCU version of the X-Men.

Disney version of Fantastic Four I am hoping for, but the X-Men have (mostly) been well-handled by FOX. I think LOGAN ranks among the best superhero flicks ever made, imo.

Destor 09-28-2018 12:02 PM

For my money have been 4ish good fox marvel movies.

X-Men
Logan
Deadpool
Deadpool 2

The rest are meh, good enough or train wrecks.

Lock Jaw 09-28-2018 12:19 PM

I'd put X2 over X-Men, and I really liked X-Men: First Class as well.

Totally forgot about the 90s suits at the end of Apocalypse..... now I do feel ripped off.

Days of Future Past is on the bubble for me.

Lock Jaw 09-28-2018 12:50 PM

Yeah.... definitely not terrible like Apocalypse, but a bit of a letdown after First Class

Seanny One Ball 09-28-2018 03:07 PM

Sophie Turner is a terribly limited actress. Apocalypse was always going to stink but she made it unbearable.

Kalyx triaD 09-28-2018 03:28 PM

I dunno. She did what was given to her.

Fignuts 09-28-2018 03:47 PM

I enjoyed Apocalypse. I mean it had its flaws and would have benefitted greatly from being a two partner, but I don't think it deserves a lot of the shit it got.

That said, Sophie turner is not good.

Sixx 09-28-2018 03:50 PM

Yah, she sucks as JEan Grey. She only got the part because she was the most famous redhead at the time.

Frank Drebin 09-28-2018 04:18 PM

Not a fan but don't see why she sucks. Can someone give me specifics?

Seanny One Ball 09-28-2018 04:24 PM

Her delivery is wooden and she is noticeably trying harder than her peers.
She can't act.

Fignuts 09-28-2018 05:05 PM

Yeah, I mean I've definitely seen worse, but she can't deliver on a character like this. Its less noticeable in GoT because of the nature of the character and her cadence but its still there.

Destor 09-28-2018 05:06 PM

Shes fine. A bit wooden. Plays well for jean grey who is also a bit wooden. Perfect casting really.

Seanny One Ball 09-28-2018 05:30 PM

It's never perfect casting to hire somebody who looks good but can't act if they are playing the lead. You always need an actress with talent to convey the essence of the character, no matter what the character's attributes are. Nobody wants to watch something wooden. Having somebody who is completely out of their depth just makes it obvious that she was cast for her looks and commercial value above her ability.

Emilia Clarke is so tremendously bad in GOT that Sophie Turner looked fine, especially as it's a huge ensemble cast with varying degrees of ability. Also she was growing up so a lot of leeway was given.
She's a knockout but she can't act for shit. I thought Emilia Clarke was bad but Sophie Turner is truly dreadful.

Kalyx triaD 09-28-2018 09:20 PM

She aight.

Seanny One Ball 09-28-2018 09:56 PM

If she gets her red squirrel out she might just get the nut

Fignuts 09-28-2018 10:39 PM

Yeah, I'll like her if her sweater muffins pop out. Otherwise, hard no.

Destor 09-28-2018 11:02 PM

Is she full chested? I cant honestly remember ever checking her out

Kalyx triaD 09-28-2018 11:37 PM

Nice enough mounds, actually.

Fo a white girl.

Agree with everything except for her being a knockout. I don't really find her attractive and I'm pretty positive she looks terrible without make-up.

I did rewatch it.

Aside from terrible looking Apocalypse I liked it.

Sixx 09-30-2018 07:40 AM

I mean, if it's possible to make Thanos look exactly like in the comics, it should be possible to do Apocalypse justice as well.

Damian Rey 2.0 09-30-2018 11:53 AM

Thought Apocalypse was boring. Definitely a giant fall from DOFP, which is my fave X-Men movie in this series, followed by X2. Logan is their best but I consider that more of a spinoff.

Anyways, I'm not excited for this for reasons mentioned. They're just jumping right to a story they already told instead of doing something new. I do hope it's good tho so we'll see.

Loose Cannon 09-30-2018 11:58 AM

meh this seems like every other x-men film. It's a bit tiring now. and it's hard for me to take this seriously when I am a huge x-men comic fan and the Dark Phoenix storyline had the Hellfire Club and Shi'ar involved. Let's get the series over to the MCU.

Destor 09-30-2018 11:59 AM

Fox just changed their entire 2019 line up to add a Deadpool movie in december 2018 pushing this back to june. The deadpool film looks to be a pg cut of deadpool 2 to appease the mouse overlords. (Which should he hilarious)

Damian Rey 2.0 09-30-2018 12:34 PM

Wait, Shirley you're not serious?

Destor 09-30-2018 12:42 PM

100%

Destor 09-30-2018 12:43 PM

Ive read pg13 in some places but either way the deadpool 2 will release in december and has pushed back 5 films to accommodate

Rammsteinmad 02-27-2019 06:07 AM

Decent looking poster. Still not really interested in this film, the X-Men franchise has become so convoluted and confusing, there's at least three different timeline versions of Wolverine, it's like canon has gone out the window and it's just about bringing big comic arcs to life.

Still... they've always made for great posters.

Putting her in Fanke's Dark Phoenix attire is at once touching and kinda baffling.

Kalyx triaD 02-27-2019 08:08 AM

Btw there's nothing at all confusing about FoX-Men's timeline. Like at all.

Seanny One Ball 02-27-2019 10:15 AM

This is going to be awful

I mean, that’s great and all, but we’re talking about the comics. Which have jumped a plethora of sharks at this point.

RP 02-28-2019 01:47 AM

Havent they made this movie already? This feels like a remake.

Lock Jaw 02-28-2019 01:51 AM

At the very least it will prob be a better Dark Phoenix story than X3

Rammsteinmad 02-28-2019 05:43 AM

Does look pretty good. But my thoughts on the X-Men franchise are still the same.

Seanny One Ball 02-28-2019 10:02 AM

Meh. Apocalypse bored the fuck out of me. Think they may have peaked with days of future past.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-28-2019 11:53 AM

I don't feel any need to see this film, at least in the cinema; probably rent it online, unless I'm particularly bored one weekend in June.

Great film. My favourite bit is moments after that when Steven Seagal sticks a knife through his head.

RP 03-01-2019 07:30 PM

What character is Jessica Chastain playing? I honestly have no clue.

Kalyx triaD 03-01-2019 07:52 PM

Possibly a Shi'Ar representative.

Fignuts 03-01-2019 07:53 PM

Emma Frost maybe?

She could be a physical manifestation of the Phoenix force that only Jean can see.

Seanny One Ball 03-01-2019 08:45 PM

She's playing Jean Grey's father, Earl Grey

RP 03-01-2019 08:50 PM

I think she's playing Sasha Grey.

I hope you're right because if she turns out to be some nobody, than this will be a monumental bullshit movie.

I already think this movie might be a money grab.

Seanny One Ball 03-01-2019 11:22 PM

Fucking heroic, compassionate Mystique makes me cringe every time as well. Fucking awful. Why not have Sabertooth singing showtunes while you're at it?

Kalyx triaD 03-02-2019 09:21 AM

It's strange since there's a multitude of female X-Men who could have had all her character arcs in the First Class era (except in Days when Raven's mutation was very important to the plot).

Lock Jaw 03-02-2019 01:22 PM

It seems like after First Class she was certainly supposed to turn into a villain.... but because she is JLaw, they turned her abrupt face

Seanny One Ball 03-02-2019 01:30 PM

Still better than Rebecca Lettuce

RP 03-04-2019 07:30 PM

An in depth movie of Jean becoming Phoenix would have been way better than her becoming Dark Phoenix. If you're basing it off the comics.

I'd much rather have Rebecca playing the character badly as a villain, than Lawrence's soft, goody two shoes cunt.

At this point, it may as well be a completely different character.

Seanny One Ball 03-04-2019 07:58 PM

Yeah fair enough
