Hall Of Fame 2019

Any news on who’s going in to the Hall Of Fame in 2019 haven’t heard anything yet and normally names are starting to get tossed around ?

Evil Vito 12-30-2018 11:44 AM

Usually the headliner is announced in January via press release.

Probably The Rock

xrodmuc316 12-30-2018 12:29 PM

I am betting Jim Neidhart considering they are using his death in storylines. It is a natural payoff.

It's in the New York area, and since they treat every 5 year anniversary as just a little more special, I can see this being the year Vince himself goes in. I don't know if he would book himself as the headliner though.

I have a feeling Taker walks away after Mania 35, so I can see him getting the Flair treatment of going in as the headliner, then having his last match the next night.

I think WWE will also break their rule of only one deceased entry, and elect Bam Bam, again cause of the location, with Mania at Met Life Stadium.

I think this would be a good year for Sable, probably the only way WWE gets Lesnar to show up to a HOF event without inducting him.

Christian might finally get in as well.

Not sure who else.

A.J.K 12-30-2018 12:43 PM

If Vince goes in this year, Stone Cold should be the obvious choice to induct him.

Rammsteinmad 12-30-2018 12:48 PM

Weren't there rumors going around that the nWo (yep, I still type it like that) would go in as a stable?

RP 12-30-2018 01:54 PM

I hear Chris Benoit is a possibility

Stickman 12-30-2018 02:17 PM

Who’s going to be the unwarranted inductee? Every year they have head scratchers so I’ll say The Smoking Guns

RP 12-30-2018 02:44 PM

What about me

What about Lock Jaw

ClockShot 12-30-2018 04:10 PM

Supposedly The Rock is going in since they switched around Hall of Fame and NXT shows to complement his schedule.

xrodmuc316 12-30-2018 05:46 PM

I like how people keep complaining that it is hypocritical and isn't fair for WWE to keep Chyna out cause she did porn.

But it's not that she did porn, it's that she did a porn spoof of WWE, which included her fucking "Vince" and "Stephanie" characters.

I get WWE wanting to stay completely away from that.

You know, if WWE welcomed Hogan, Snuka, Warrior etc back, hall of fame etc

With Benoit at this point it's Never Say Never, even more so with the decrease in big name headliners. They're running out of big names.

Sooner or Later, Benoit, Owen Hart and Chyna will be inducted. Owen on the otherside of the other 2.

And what was Owen's offense?

Why wouldn't he get inducted?

Martha not allowing that to happen.

RP 01-02-2019 07:04 PM

Chyna is being blackballed because she has a huge clit.

Rammsteinmad 01-02-2019 11:40 PM

Do people still actually want Benoit in? I mean, he's still one of my all-time favourites based on his work, but I'm way over the fact that WWE don't want anything to do with him. Can't believe there are still people out there that think WWE are being unreasonable.

Mr. Nerfect 01-03-2019 12:52 AM

Lol, I don't think anyone thinks he's going to go in.

Mr. Nerfect 01-03-2019 12:53 AM

The only realistic headliners are really Rock, Batista and Undertaker. Well, maybe Triple H too, but he's not going to let himself be portrayed as old. Maybe DX? I don't know.

Rammsteinmad 01-04-2019 05:27 AM

Could Kane be a headliner?

Anybody Thrilla 01-04-2019 05:29 AM

Maybe if Martha won't let Owen in, they'll induct The Blue Blazer...as portrayed by Mo of Men on a Mission.

Well, if they inducted Koko

What's the story here?

Fignuts 01-05-2019 10:19 PM

Koko deserves to be in based on his work in the territories and being one of the earliest successful black wrestlers.

Most people only know him for his WWF work where he was just above jobber status despite being fairly over with crowds, so they scoff at his induction.

Fignuts 01-05-2019 10:22 PM

Also Bull Nakano deserves a spot. AJW was selling out arenas and filling stadiums long before the women’s revolution, and Nakano was one of their greatest talents I believe she holds the record for longest title reign.

The MAC 01-06-2019 02:08 AM

Gene will be a shoe in

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-06-2019 02:16 AM

Mean Gene is already in the Hall of Fame.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-06-2019 02:17 AM

Bertha Faye before Bull Nakano. America first America number 1

#1-norm-fan 01-06-2019 02:32 AM

Koko absolutely deserves to be in. People should stop using him as he the “Well if HE can get in...” example. The guy was crazy over. Which should be the first requirement with anything else being a distant second.

Anybody Thrilla 01-06-2019 04:48 AM

Is Bertha Faye not already in?

Bad News Gertner 01-06-2019 09:06 AM

Noppers.

There are far worse wrestlers in the Hall of Fame than Koko. With Wrestlemania being in the New York area this year, I hope to hell they finally induct Cyndi Lauper. She's one of the main reasons why they have a show today.

I don't get why they haven't inducted her. She was fucking awesome in her role.

Shisen Kopf 01-06-2019 10:00 AM

Tatanka should go in. He had the REAL greatest streak in rasslin history

johnsmagic 01-06-2019 09:52 PM

Should there be a criteria for someone to be inducted

I.E Title reigns, popularity ( merch sales) , longevity... Most sporting organization will have a certain criteria around their respective HOF

Not true, you are only eligible for the HOF if you murder 0-1 people, not 2.

There are 2 things considered:
1. Can Vince make money off their induction
2. Have they missed Vince off

1 is most important, the more money Vince can make, the less 2 matters, see Ultimate Warrior.

Although, if Vince REALLY likes somebody, they can still get in even if it won't make him that much money.

Not when it comes to women’s wrestling. Also, Bertha Faye was Canadian, you fucking goof.

Like Nakano, Faye deserves a spot mainly for her work outside of WWE. But Nakano’s impact was much greater in that regard.

Fignuts 01-08-2019 03:09 PM

Cindi Lauper should absolutely have been inducted to the celebrity wing by now. Should have been one of the first really.

Bad News Gertner 01-08-2019 04:56 PM

She's arguably the biggest omission from the Hall in general

Evil Vito 01-09-2019 03:03 PM

Lauper was on Raw back when Heath Slater was doing his schtick of getting beaten up by a different legend each week. It's crazy that she isn't in.

Evil Vito 01-09-2019 03:04 PM

Also, I'm sick of people bitching about Koko B Ware being undeserving every year. You shitfucks don't deserve Koko B Ware.

Mr. Nerfect 01-09-2019 09:28 PM

I thought Cyndi Lauper turned it down? To hear she showed up since if she’s turning it down is weird. She will probably go in, Triple H will work his magic, and Hogan will induct her to get him out there.

The Rock seems more and more likely given they are running out of black wrestlers to induct. I always thought they could induct Slick, but he did sue them. I do see Sable, Torrie Wilson or Stacy Keibler going in as a “pioneer” of women in the Attitude era, but I’m really surprised Bull Nakano is not in yet. Thinking about it though, I can see the Jumping Bomb Angels going in to promote the new Women’s Tag Team Titles.

They do one posthumous induction. Would not be surprised if this is Vader. He talked a lot of shit while alive. There’s no major scandal about his life and no one blocking it. I could see Christian going in as a lower-card entry as a guy people know but is retired. Gets Edge on the billing too. Eric Bischoff gets thrown in too, but for some reason I expect him to be in a Minneapolis group with Brock and X-Pac, even though I don’t think they will run Minneapolis. Oh, I do see them putting in Johnny Saint.

I just randomly thought of One Man Gang. He’s not in, is he? Could see him as someone “retro.” I can see them putting in someone from lucha libre’s history. Bertha Faye is another candidate for posthumous. Leilani Kai could find her way in. Or do they put her in with Richter as The Glamor Girls? Maybe Lauper inducts them to get her into talks?

The Rock, Christian, Johnny Saint, Jumping Bomb Angels and Cyndi Lauper.

Bad News Gertner 01-09-2019 09:28 PM

Lance Storm said that about Cyndi regarding her turning it down and she replied "that's news to me"

Mr. Nerfect 01-09-2019 09:32 PM

Well, Lauper going in makes more sense now then.

Mr. Nerfect 01-09-2019 09:32 PM

Especially since they will want Hogan to induct someone.

Bad News Gertner 01-09-2019 09:34 PM

It really should be Wendi Richter who inducts her

You mean Judy Martin but I doubt they induct the team.

I've never understood the love for Victoria

Fignuts 01-10-2019 06:00 PM

Pretty good in the ring for the time, cool finisher, fun gimmick.

Mr. Nerfect 01-10-2019 07:37 PM

Yeah, I love me some Victoria. She seems “cool.” I don’t think she’ll go in. I think it will be Michelle McCool inducted by Layla (and maybe Vickie Guerrero).

Vince can be petty. I wonder if Lance Storm will be inducted this year just so that Chris Jericho doesn’t get to induct him? Edge & Christian could do it.

johnsmagic 01-17-2019 05:21 PM

See under " my criteria " that I would go with don't see how Lance Storm could possible be considered.

I'm not saying that he is or that he should. I don't consider the WWE Hall of Fame to be anything other than tokenistic PR anyway. I'm just saying that Vince can be petty and Jericho signing with AEW could potentially spark the big man to put Lance Storm in and forever marginalize his history and friendship with Chris Jericho -- at least in Vince's own mind. Probably not, but it wouldn't shock me in the slightest.

They'd call him one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all-time; a decorated champion; a bright spot of ECW and WCW during their dwindling eras; highly regarded by his peers; one of the most underrated of all-time. He wouldn't headline, but as an opportunity for Edge & Christian to get up and tell some jokes and Lance to open with "If I can be serious for a moment..." there's a chance something like that could go down.

Mr. Nerfect 01-18-2019 06:13 PM

Sid Vicious not being in yet kind of surprises me. He's one of those guys that could borderline headline.

They're probably saving him. He's been on RAWs in recent yrs so I doubt he’s on bad terms w/ WWE. At this point I just come for the video packages.

I’d say you’re right. They don’t really have any giant names left that they aren’t interested in actively using. The Rock, Batista, Undertaker, maybe Kane and Big Show. They don’t really have too many headliners left. I guess spaced out that takes you 7 years forward, so then you can think about Cena, Triple H, DX (to put Michaels in twice), Jericho, Daniel Bryan, etc.

Makes sense. The Undertaker has always been a good shout for the WWE Hall of Fame even while wrestling. His act is presented as "timeless," and it's not like Hall of Famers need to retire now anyways. But something about The Rock and Batista being in Hollywood makes their induction seem "premature."

Is it the idea that they might possibly come back?

Mr. Nerfect 01-22-2019 05:20 PM

Yeah, but it also ages them. Something about The Rock, especially, just feels like you present him as a guy perpetually in his prime. Slapping the Hall of Fame sticker on him makes him seem way less urgent in my head.

Would make sense considering he was originally rumored to get inducted last year before WWE swapped him out with someone else instead. Also was the only person on the leaked list that didn't get inducted in last year's class.

Mr. Nerfect 01-25-2019 01:46 AM

Bam Bam makes sense as the posthumous. The Undertaker as the headliner. Cyndi Lauper as celebrity. Michelle McCool as the woman. The Glamour Girls as the group. I can see Johnny Saint going in. There are maybe two more spots. X-Pac going in one of these years makes sense.

Mr. Nerfect 01-25-2019 06:48 PM
