idk, i want to be excited for it, and i see a lot of people being all on board after watching the trailer but i'm not really any more or less interested in this for having seen these couple of minutes of footage

Since the get-go, this film has not particularly interested me, and the trailer has done nothing to change that.

Opposite effect for me. I was pretty "meh, whatever" about everything, but now that trailer has me hype.

I'm interested to see how Phoenix does. Liked what I saw in the trailer and I'm typically a fan of his. Also want to see where they go with this. It looks interesting enough and far more intriguing than the Leto joker we got in suicide squad.

But it could be a total bomb and complete miss by the director and his team. Which would be a shame since Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam have started to help right the ship for DC movies.

I thought the trailer was really well done. I'm on the fence because I cant tell where this movie is going. I doubt they make Joker out to be a sympathetic character. But the trailer shows a lot of that. I'm thinking there is a fuckton more to this movie and we're being a bit mislead. I could be wrong. I got a Rob Zombie ( directed movies ) type feel to this movie. A sick, dark dude. I think this movie might be really dark and i'm ok with it.

I think they'll be some natural sympathy to his character if it's going the route I think it is. The Killing Joke is beloved, and it sympathized Joker's character. It didn't make the story any less effective.

We'll see. It's got people talking, and not in a "this looks shit" sort of way, so that's a good start.

After so man duds, lets hope DC are getting things right. Im not a fan of someone different playing the same character so close to someone else. I guess you grow up with 'your' version of the character and associate that one as the best.

Didn't like how Spiderman got re-booted....then rebooted again.

Looks meh to me. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was absolutely incredible, and a whole new level of acting. But otherwise, I've never really been massively into the character and always thought he was a bit overrated.

Yeah, no one was gonna beat Jack Nicholson's Joker before Dark Knight came out either.

Different portrayals. Ledger's Joker wasn't the kind that would bust into a room dancing to "Party Man". Doesn't mean one was better than the other.

looks good to me. Seems you need to be a full-on snob/hater/derp not to at least be enticed by that trailer. Joaquin Phoenix is a fantastic actor. Not the same a weiner-boy jared leto.

Metacritic giving it a 75 right now.

Great reviews right now from everybody except from critics from TIME and Vanity Fair. That's why it's down a bit.

Roger Ebert guy had a bad review as well. Based on the excerpt used for RT, I can tell I won't like anything he writes.

I want to see Joker today, but just the thought of buying the ticket awakens my white rage. I listened to Nickelback on a loop all night last night. I dont think I should leave the house.

lol not that Rotten Tomatoes has much credibility anymore, but I find it funny that the rating for the movie dropped about 15 or 16 percentage points after Todd Phillips spoke out against Woke culture.

Films good. By no meansa masterpiece (a phrase that has been thrown around a bit too much imo) but would definitely recommend it

The media acting like this is the first movie with guns in it and the first movie that is dark is fucking ridiculous.

Its not half as violent as the trailers were. Less guns too.

Film had a 55mil budget (premarketing) and is already at 40mil. If it doesnt this weekend then by the end of nextweek it will be in the black (including marketing)

That's because people who are both in the woke culture and happen to be published film critics submitted their woke reviews and dragged the score down.

Marketing is likely betwee 20 and 35 mil. So if its high end they won't hit profits until Saturday next week. If its low end theyll see profits on sunday

Word of mouth is going to carry this film. Gonna be a big hit for WB.
