Star Trek: Picard

I am genuinely excited for this show; fuck the Kelvin timeline and the prequels (except for an Anson Mount-led Captain Pike show); Prime timeline gloriousness all the way. I do wonder, however, if they will reference any of the changes to events, if the Kelvin timeline is incorporated into it.

Was already hyped. Picard is best captain. Then I saw this trailer....

R SO MEGA HYPE NAO!~~

Seriously though, the production looks incredible. Seems more serious in tone too, which I like. Hopefully this trailer is accurate of the final product because I feel like this could be something special.

I think we could do without B4, though; I don't want to see a bloated Brent Spiner still playing an android.

mitchables 07-21-2019 06:35 PM

looks incredible. i didn't really know what this show was going to be from all the early teases and stuff and i naturally worry about patrick stewart starting a new series at his age (just seems so frail; even his voice has lost some of the power it had when he was picard the first time around) but after that trailer i am irrevocably on-board. holy shit yes.

i think it's probably a dream sequence or some shit. I don't know if they will do the B4/memory thing that exists in the STO Timeline.

I thought I read somewhere they will acknowledge the destruction of Romulus, so this will be the prime universe.

I'm super jazzed about this though

Blue Demon 07-31-2019 03:07 PM

I have a theory: In a recent cast interview (I'll add it if I can find it) Brent Spiner himself confirmed that he was playing Data. I believe he'll be around as either something in the holodeck (hence why Picard says "I don't want this game to end," a flash back to the final scene of "All Good Things..." and thus the series, of them playing cards) and/or flash backs.

Look at the size of those women on the right hand side's hands. They look like novelty prosthetics.

OverTaker 08-08-2019 08:30 PM

Warp factor 2 engage

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-08-2019 08:46 PM

why so slow bro?

Seanny One Ball 08-08-2019 09:34 PM

That black woman's hands are not the sort of hands you want wrapped around your tadger unless the thing was built to last.

I wonder how many nightmares she is responsible for, how many men's confidence she has destroyed with one high five?

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-22-2019 09:45 PM

Well, there will be no Ferengi Captain on this series. Aron Eisenberg who portrayed Nog on Deep Space Nine died last night.

RIP.

poopfromweiner dude 09-25-2019 01:21 AM

Really excited for when I get to this

El Vaquero de Infierno 10-05-2019 05:01 PM

Mark it in your calendars, chaps: 24 January.

How come Bjorn Borg has never once been in Star Trek but he's totally fine with them using his name?

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-21-2020 04:29 PM

Oh Amazon and CBS, why are you pulling this 1 episode a week bullshit with us? I want to binge me some Picard. I will have to wait until the end of March to watch it, once all the episodes are available.

Why? Youll probably have it all spoiled by then.

Lock Jaw 01-23-2020 10:49 PM

First episode started off slow.... but picked up, and now I guess I am interested in the mystery.

"Weird" at Picard having servants, though...... would think that the future didn't do "servants".....

Shadow 01-24-2020 08:58 AM

It felt like an episode of TNG but with the budget of a movie. So good.

Can't wait for the next episode.

Seanny One Ball 01-24-2020 09:52 AM

Is Riker in it?

Lock Jaw 01-24-2020 10:22 AM

Not as a main star, but I did see him in a trailer

OverTaker 02-08-2020 05:14 AM

Yeah he and Counselor Troi will be and so will Whoopie!

Lock Jaw 02-08-2020 10:30 AM

Don't get the whole "we don't trust synthetic life forms anymore, but we still trust A.I. and computers with everything else"

Seanny One Ball 02-10-2020 04:31 PM

When Data died, so did their faith in robutts

Lock Jaw 02-10-2020 05:16 PM

Once you give them a butt, A.I. can't be trusted

Still having EHM's doesn't make much sense either. Maybe it is part of Rios being a rebel that he still uses them?

I can't really judge until the entire season is through.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-26-2020 08:04 AM

I'm finally going to watch this tomorrow, once the final episode of the first season drops.

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-28-2020 03:33 PM

Finished watching the series; I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. The season finale was a bit blah. Ultimately, I've come away feeling like it is a series that didn't need to happen, which is rather disappointing as I was excited when it was first announced, particularly given how fairly naff Discovery has been (with the exception of Anson Mount's Captain Pike; a Christopher Pike series is definitely needed).
