AEW better have some tricks up their sleeves tonight, because the card they have announced for tonight doesn't hold a candle to tonight's NXT card.

More spectacle for AEW than substance.

Cole vs Gargano for the NXT title might be around 30 minutes long if the stuff from the Observer about how commercial breaks are going to be handled is any indication.

No commercial breaks for the 1st 30 minutes and then picture-in-picture and popups for the majority of it.

I love Matt Riddle, but I legit thought that was a Carmella or Liv Morgan type in the right photo. I wouldn't say that to Riddle's face though.

I think Riddle vs. Ciampa could be a hot feud, and it wouldn't surprise me if the tensions between Riddle and the locker-room are exaggerated or even fabricated for the purposes of setting up a story between the two.

It's obvious Triple H is playing the long game with NXT. I hear a lot of commentators talking about how they're taking the ratings far more seriously than AEW and all that, but Triple H has really layered this shit. There's a plan with this stuff.

It's not that there's anything "wrong." She just doesn't connect for whatever reason. She's got a case of the Ember Moons. If they want to a Women's Tag Division, put those two together long-term and see if anything shakes out.

I see the strings with everything Mia's doing. Everything's a set piece.

I honestly think going to full commercial would be better. This is like an ad break, but you can see that nothing's happening and therefore have no interest to "see what happens."

I feel like I would like Mia Yim more without all the head baddie gimmickness. One of those cases like Bianca Belair where they are going so overboard on the gimmick that it becomes distracting.

Feel like this match is a mistake and if we got quarter-hours, lots of people would be flicking over to AEW right now.

Have had a crush on her since Stardom.

I don't mind the look or the entrance presentation. I don't mind what it *means* though. As an aesthetic, it's fine, but NXT has this way of giving everyone an aesthetic but you don't know anything about it.

I think she'll grow into something a bit more natural for her, overall, but right now it just feels like something she's been assigned.

Mia's selling doesn't get me any sympathy for her either.

Want her to be a heel that gets her ass kicked.

Next match on AEW is Pac vs Page, which is the match of the night for them I believe. It's the one time tonight I'm giving AEW my top attention.

I wish there was more of a story to this. Like, Thorne's a tag team specialist going into singles like Gargano once did, and Thorne feels that the fickle fans and favoritism has given Gargano too many shots, so Gargano is wrestling him to prove that he is, in fact, Johnny Wrestling.

I still wonder to this day of Shane is pissed at Nick Miller leaving him high and dry lol

I like that they're presenting Gargano like an NXT legend.

Haha, maybe. I imagine he would understand though. Some guys just want to wrestle and others want to specifically be in that system.

Thorne impressed me there. Thought that match had good psychology for a modern match. Thorne's aggression was right there and he scouted a lot of Gargano's stuff.

Shayna is freaking awesome.

I feel like Gargano's status as a top guy in NXT should lead to him being hunted.

Love Shayna.

She's got this bad-ass bully vibe, but there's also this arrogance. She kind of reminds me of Shawn Michaels in this weird way.

Shayna feels like she is a cup full of ice away from cancelling the show and walking out at all times. I love it.

Candice LeRae looks regal.

I like that Candice hit the springboard from the bottom rope. Work to your stature.

I like this is LeRae's "indy style" against Shayna's MMA-based style.
