Pretty solid looking card tonight. Conventional wisdom says that this close to a big show, the results should be fairly predictable. Page and Omega win a hard fought kick-out fest against Lucha Bros and the Bucks win the battle royal setting up a showdown they’ve been teasing for weeks. Cody will get destroyed by Wardlow in the cage but somehow find a way to win setting up a showdown with MJF they’ve been teasing for weeks. Moxley and Cobb beat the hell out of each other which ends in another beat down of Moxley further weakening him for his showdown with Jericho they’ve been teasing for weeks.


Will they go with conventional wisdom, or do they have something else in store for us, the viewers? I’ll tell you what, folks, I am excited to find out!

Taz calling Jeff Cobb’s first match seems appropriate

Night and day for Jeff Cobb here.

NJPW: Nice guy, gets along with everybody.

AEW: Mean. Wants to kill ya.

Cobb's AEW theme would fit much better if he was in his Matanza persona.

Has a nice monster vibe to it but not soo much as a hired hitman theme.

Cobb vs Moxley was very good and maybe even better than the match they had together at last year's G1 Climax tournament.

Cobb hit Mox with a superplex off the top. But, Mox hooked the leg and pinned him.

Yeah Jimmy Havoc revealed Raven's been hanging out backstage today.

Also he's probably the backup to the backup plan if Matt Hardy stays in WWE and they decide against Daniels as the guy in charge of the Dark Order.

AEW's cage looks more sturdy than the cage setup WWE uses. Probably helps the cage extends to the floor itself and not needing to be propped up at the apron.

If AEW ever started a hardcore or deathmatch division, Cody would fit right in consider the amount of times he's bled or had bodily harm done to himself since AEW launched.

Cage match was very good overall.

Starting to think Cody might be legit crazy considering some of the stuff he's done in AEW.

This week's episode was very good overall. Last week felt a bit better or more complete but this week did just as good of a job building up for Revolution.

I think that was the best wrestling episode ever. Amazing. Everything on this show.

Wardlow needs different ring attire if he's going to wrestle in the future

His entire character is just in a different realm than everything else. The promos, the drama in his matches, his facial expressions. I feel like Cody may be the only guy left in the business who really “gets” what makes wrestling good.

The reason Cody is so amazing is because he can follow a match like Lucha Bro's vs Hangman and Omega... with F'n Wardlow. He has so much drama in his segments and matches man I am so high on that Cage Match.

Jericho has hit Suzuki level now when it comes to his entrances.
