They intentionally put Bryan and AJ on Smackdown because they knew they’d upstage Edge and Orton and they most certainly did.

I legit loved that Miz/Morrison music video

I refuse to believe Edge/Orton will be the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever in a world where King Mabel vs Diesel at SummerSlam 1995 happened.

Supposedly the taping for the Edge vs. Orton match was around 30-35 minutes in length so depending on what WWE did for edits and post-production, likely going to be another lengthy match from them.

Yeah Fightful reported earlier that happened and WWE keeping it hidden since they don't want normal fans to know the match was taped beforehand.

The IIconics are somehow worse than ever before

They looked way better during last Monday's Triple Threat tag match.

Doesn't help the crowd hasn't been that active during it.

Women's tag title match was decent at best.

Nikki and Alexa somehow managed to pull off one of the worst ever looking double team moves.

Can't believe Strowman went from Revenge of the Nerds and Bloodsport to WWE Champ, what a guy.

For a feud meant to be very personal, this match doesn't feel like it at all.

I didn't expect a clean win for Sheamus, that's the first surprise of the night.

Jeff vs. Sheamus was decent at best.

Probably the sloppiest match Sheamus and Jeff have had in their WWE careers considering the amount of miscues that happened.

Music video wasn't even that good to begin with so maybe it was a good idea on WWE's end.

WWE already going overbaord with these audio enhancements.

fink with the ring intros was a nice touch

WWE going all out for this match just makes the rest of the show look even worse by comparison.

I prefer the piped-in crowd noise

If they did it throughout the show, it wouldn't feel as awkward considering the crowd beforehand struggled a lot to be this energetic.

Wonder how this would have sounded with a real crowd around. Its been pretty good but not really worth the "enhanced" reactions WWE has been giving it.

Apparently the "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" is just a typical slow style Orton match but if it wasn't an actual boring slog to watch.

I'm enjoying this match. The announcers seem genuinely excited calling the match.

This was never actually going to live up to being the greatest wrestling match ever BUT WWE has given 2 really great matches in 48 hours although the rest of Backlash was totally ignorable

Edge vs. Orton was very good overall. Not "Greatest Ever" tier by a long shot but still the best match on tonight's show and a ton better than their Iron Man match was at Mania.

Feel WWE going overboard with the "enhanced" audio stuff hurt more than it helped since the match really didn't need it at all. If anything, the rest of the show would have benefited a lot more if it got that treatment instead.

Backlash was pretty much very forgettable until the last 2 matches and cinematic thing between Street Profits and Viking Raiders.

It was a great match, of course not the greatest ever. That match and the Street Profits/Viking Raiders/Tozawa/Brauns car whole thing saved the show.

It was as advertised The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Crisp and intense, I hung onto every turn as if the next moment could be the last! Anticipating each bludgeoning move as these two legends throttled each other for nearly an hour. Randy Orton is the true Crown Prince of Pro Wrestling and Edge is the one Highlander of our age. Returning from another time to clash with the titans on the grandest stage of them all. 5 Stars.

A few too many kickouts - but really good match, a for sure MOTY contender

For some reference, their match at Mania 36 was almost 37 minutes long.

Edge vs. Orton was way better than I thought it was going to be. Orton is so fucking good and, man, Edge was fucking on. Don't know if the guy struck me as that good a worker back when he was full-time, haha.

Haven't seen Bryan vs. Styles yet, so it might not even be WWE match of the week. When it comes to producing the best in-ring content, WWE is still far and away the #1 US promotion, as much as it sours the average internet fan.

Jordan omogbehin is going to dominate

The aggressive promoting as “Greatest Match Ever” is just search engine optimization. So now if a new fan searches for the greatest match ever they get a match between two guys who have basically never worked outside of WWE.

A hidden highlight of the match for me was Randy looking up to the sky before he did the three amigos. Kind of a subtle apology for the “Eddie’s in hell” bullshit from 2006.
