That "Show Up & Win" shirt Reigns is wearing is pretty cool.
His shirts since coming back have been a great touch for his new heel persona. |
The Tribal Chief thing is fucking dumb
|
 at Reigns just randomly giving a title shot and a Hell in a Cell match on the spot.
That might have been the most random announcement of a Hell in a Cell match in WWE history. |
 at WWE botching the cut to commercial.
Don't think they were meant to do it that abruptly and while Jey was about to leap off the table. Like WCW Era "we out of time" style. |
Styles vs. Jey Uso was pretty good.
So far this first hour is on track to the best since maybe the time WWE had that Saudi plane incident and needed NXT to bail them out for a SD show. |
:| at next week's show having a court segment for Otis MitB contract.
|
Morrison getting the squash treatment from Otis is pretty sad.
Hope he's enjoying whatever WWE is paying him since his current run has been mostly a big disappointment. |
Whelp if Kevin Owens gets drafted to SD, he already has his first feud set with the Fiend.
And vice versa if Fiend ends up going to the red brand instead. Then again that probably would be better considering he'd fit in very well with his spooky red lights routine. |
Riddle looks stupid
|
6-man tag match was pretty good despite WWE going overboard with the fake crowd noise during it.
|
IC title match was pretty good.
This week's episode was pretty good overall. The show did sort of peak after the first 40-45 minutes in terms of entertainment though. I give Carmella's new Emmalina-like gimmick a month or two tops before WWE gets bored of it or it hits unsavable dud territory. |
Rules announced for the suuuuuuuuuuuuper important draft. Same approach as last year from the looks of things. Two pools and picks being divvied up over two nights.
I'm sure it won't all be ignored in a week!!! Quote:
|
Hopefully they learned from last year to shuffle the order of the pick announcements before Smackdown airs since last year the list they sent for the first night was in exact order of the picks.
|
Sheamus on the board to get drafted twice.
|
Gonna laugh when the first "round" of draft picks is Drew/Asuka/Seth to Raw and Roman/Bayley to SD.
EARTH SHATTERING LANDSCAPE CHANGE! |
Potential spoilers for tonight's Draft show in regards to certain big stars moving brands.
SPOILER: show |
Big shock was New Day getting broken up
I figure that will last until they decide to not push Big E and then they will be reunited My best guess is Raw will keep the Street Profits and have SP vs New Day to unify the tag belts and send them on both brands. Which could also negate splitting up New Day if they win and can be on SD every week anyway Of course they moved Bianca Belair to SD so they could move SP to SD. Itll be funny the RAW tag team champions on SD and vice versa |

Mostly the same people isn't the same thing as EXACTLY the same people, same aliens, and same dinosaurs each and every week though right?
|
Maybe if AEW held a draft having almost everyone staying on the same show or brand.
Was going to include a Gillberg & Goldberg joke but not enough space was left in the thread header to pull it off. |
Opening talkies with Triple H & Steph was decent.
Same for the all-out brawl that happened afterwards. |

Next week's show on FS1 is going to be interesting in regards to how big of a drop they are going to suffer in viewership.
Last time it happened, SD went from 2.4 million to 880k because of baseball taking over their FOX spot that week. |
Did Cole just say "Jeff Jarrett" can't believe what he just saw instead of Hardy??
|
Lars vs. Jeff Hardy was decent at best.
On the bright side, was completly expecting them to do some lame DQ or non-finish to kick off the new season and instead they did an actual finish for the match. |

I have a feeling that there is a long term plan for Big E and The New Day. Feel like he will go into next years draft as the champion. Either he or Kofi/Xavier get traded, putting them back on the same show. Kofi and Xavier try to reunite with him and he suddenly doesnt want anything to do with them because he think he is better than they are, leading to a feud between Big E and Kofi with Xavier trying to play peacemaker.
|
Did the WWE put all the blacks on one roster so they can wrestle eachother to death?
|
6-man tag match was pretty good despite being a bit too long in the tooth. That match and the pre-match promo by New Day ate up almost 30 minutes or so of the show.
Quote:
If the rumors about Big E becoming the top face star of SD are true, he's going to have a lengthy period as a major face star before any potential heel turn happens. |
 at the same guy showing up on multiple screens behind Bryan.
Wonder how many of these people in the virtual crowd are actually watching the show right now and how many are just past fan videos being played back based on that recent report about the video wall shenanigans from NXT. |
Forgot where I read it first but Street Profits managed to become WWE's newest Triple Crown guys despite them not actually winning one of the tag belts.
Won the NXT and RAW tag belts but only got the SD tag belts via swapping belts with New Day which is how their historic Triple Crown moment happened. |
:| SD tag title match ending via no contest.
 at Ric Flair randomly showing up on one of the fan crowd screens. |
The more he keeps showing up on WWE shows, the more I keeping thinking that Adam Pearce really does look like a young bald version of HBK.
For a season premiere show, its not really doing anything interesting to build up or give a strong reason to bother watching next week's show despite not being a bad show so far this week. Same problem last year's FOX premiere show had where it was entertaining but did a piss poor job building up the next week's show. |

Like the reason NXT got busted for using fake crowd screens was because the person who outed them mentioned she was watching AEW instead that night and was also wearing a different sweater than what was shown on her screen. |
 at Braun getting hit in the nuts via Reign's kicking out of a pin
|

Universal title match was pretty good.
Wonder how USA Network feels that one of their big acquisitions from the Draft just got destroyed by Reigns. Jey Uso just snapped. Now all that's left is him getting a submission move and he'd become a badass ... nevermind Reigns just destroyed him. This week's show was pretty enjoyable overall. Only real negative was the fake crowd audio being a mess at times because WWE still sucks at proper mixing for these ThunderDome shows. |

Does the whole Tribal Chief thing lead to a programme with Samoa Joe when he’s good to return? I’d be down for that.

I’ve already expressed that Reigns/Rock is the only Mania main event that I will accept. It’s all part of the same angle in my head.
|
Just like with their camera cuts, WWE went overboard when it came to saying the word "freak" for Lars Sullivan since according to Fightful, Cole average around 3 sayings of the phrase per minute during the entire time he was on tv last night.

The new background show graphics WWE has been using for their previews since last week look pretty nice. A bit too clear or bright but looks generally better than the ones they were using before. |
The Solo cups launcher for the Street Profits entrance has been one of the cool things about the ThunderDome for entrances.
Also wonder if WWE reuses the cups for Street Profits entrances since it would be a big waste of cups to do it only once each time. |
This 8-man tag match was very good but the same can't be said for the camera work, especially when Dawkins got the hot tag and was doing a bunch of moves to multiple guys.
|
 at APA being involved in this Law & Otis segment. JBL as the judge and Farooq as the court officer.
Otis gave a very compelling argument for why he should keep the case. He won it and Miz didn't. |
|
Guess Bianca completely forgot the woman she was facing tonight was the same one who poisoned her husband a while ago.
Aced way too carefree or nonchalant instead of using tonight to lash out some more brutal punishment to Zelina. Also almost half the show is done and it hasn't really done anything for last minute builds for Hell in a Cell. |
Shorty G "quitting" after getting squashed by Lars is interesting since Austin Theory did the same exact thing on NXT this week.
Wonder if those two are going to be a new tag team or join Retribution since the group could use a few new lame or poorly booked members. Edit: Nevermind, Shorty G's quitting stuff ended up just him being as Shorty G and going back to his old persona and name. I give it a month tops before WWE gets bored of a push for him. |
:D Teddy Long showing up on Law & Otis.
This has been pretty dumb so far but also very entertaining as well though. at Teddy needing a pee break. |
Whelp Otis is losing the MitB case at Hell in a Cell.
Also lame way to not have it be cashed in on Reigns if that's the case since it was meant to be blue brand exclusive this year. |
This Mysterio Family vs. Rollins feud somehow went from being pretty dumb due to Rollins eyeball fetish to being a pretty good showcase for Dominik to now being all about Murphy wanting to bang Rey's daughter and Domink becoming a big non-factor in the story.
|
If it wasn't for Retribution's terrible booking, this never-ending Rollins vs. Mysterio feud would have zero competition for the award for the worst shit in WWE for this year.
|
That ending stuff with Reigns and the Usos was pretty cool.
The Usos getting kicked out of the Anoa'i family if Jey loses at Hell in a Cell is a very interesting choice for a stip. This week's episode was enjoyable overall but WWE might have put in the laziest effort in years for both go-home shows this week. If it wasn't for the ads and commentators mentioning a PPV this weekend, both shows were a lot more like regular episodes than something meant to flesh out the card. Only two new matches got added from this week's shows and one was made after RAW went off the air. That's five hours of shows just to come up with 2 new matches for a card that only had 3 matches going into the week. |
Apparently tonight's plans for SmackDown and WWE Backstage on FS1 were a mess according to the Observer.
WWE Backstage got canned again because FOX changed their minds late in regards to a new episode airing on FS1 while the original plans for tonight's Smackdown got shelved because of issues involving the Law & Otis stuff. Quote:

Buddy Murphy gets top notch gash
|
Buddy Murphy plows through Alexa Bliss and Mexican Alexa Bliss.
|
WWE unbanned the Buckle Bomb at least

 at Jey Uso's voice cracked when he started his promo.
Guess he's becoming a man now. |
Uso sounding like a little kid when he/she gets punished or grounded by their parents.
Meanwhile Reigns keeps delivering gold with his mic work since starting his new heel persona. |
Yea jey sounding like the red headed step child
|
So if Survivor Series is supposed to be the one time of the year where RAW peeps get to fight Smackdown peeps and vice versa, then what is the Royal Rumble supposed to be?
The one time of the year where WWE mostly forgets what they did the past few months? |
Owens vs. Ziggy was pretty good.
Wait ... even Survivor Series now has an actual tag line for its show this year. "Best of the Best" is some pretty blatant false advertising considering who is in RAW's Women's team. |
That interview segment with Lars might have done more to hurt than help Lars "freak" persona. Almost started to make his monster persona feel more goofy until right near the end. Then it went in sort of a twisted direction.
|
Someone screwed up with the layout of tonight's show since it went start of entrances for women's qualifier match to a sudden Rollins & Mysterio Family video package and backstage segment to going right back to finishing the women's entrances.
|
Whoa! Wasn't expecting a consolidated weekly Smackdown thread.
|
RAW vs Smackdown makes no sense this time around. The draft occurred just a hot minute ago and the characters are still "settling in" their new positions.
|
 at Natty whiffing on the dropkick.
That women's qualifier match was bad. Not sure what was worse, the one on RAW or the one tonight. Leaning towards RAW mainly because at least SD had Bianca winning their women's qualifier match. |
Carmella is the undisputed queen of Smackdown. Girl has been on the show since 2016.
|
I'm having quite a difficult time getting behind recent def rebel produced themes.

Whoever came up with this Mysterio Family telenovela stuff really should have been tossed out of a window or door during Blue Brand Creative meetings by now.

Makes perfect sense

Ceasro launching Montez Ford into the virtual crowd area was amazing.
Got some really good air with that toss. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">WHAT JUST HAPPENED!? <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SmackDown?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#SmackDown</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/WWECesaro?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@WWECesaro</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/MontezFordWWE?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@MontezFordWWE</a> <a href="https://t.co/dAEMFh4aMe">pic.twitter.com/dAEMFh4aMe</a></p>— WWE (@WWE) <a href="https://twitter.com/WWE/status/1322347075019956225?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 31, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
Street Profits vs. Cesaro & Nakamura was pretty good.
Montez almost botched the frog splash finish since he barely managed to hit Nakamura. |
 at that production botch during Sasha's entrance.
|
Thought sasha outfit was cream colored but that yellow was hideous
|
Jey gonna get this?
|
If Sasha somehow drops the belt to Bayley next week, I'm probably going to be in tears from laughter.
|
There ya go jey
|
Welcome to the samoan dynasty
|
Damn! Jey barely connecting with the splashes.
|
Surprised Jey beat Bryan for a spot on the Blue team for Survivor Series.
Then again, makes sense with his post-match heel turn because of the Reigns stuff. |
This week's Smackdown was enjoyable overall.
Middle part of the show dragged in quality but the first and last 30+ minutes were mostly entertaining and/or very good. |
Holy fuck...HEYMAN....MANAGING Reigns AND (hopefully) THE USOS?? The NEW SAMOAN DYNASTY?? FUCK YES I'M IN!
|
Ok, but why?
|
I thought The Uso's were no longer in the family if they lost to Reigns at HINC?
