So let me get this straight. AEW puts on the greatest episode of wrestling of all time, and then WWE just decides they have to have a PPV immediately after. And we’re supposed to believe WWE isn’t terrified of AEW. LOL give me a break 😭😭😭😭

Bit surprised they actually managed to fit two rings and the giant cage in the Capitol Wrestling Center's ringside area since the venue looked a lot smaller on tv after all the renovations they did.

The face team having the advantage in this Women's WarGames match really does feel weird.

Especially since it was Dakota and not Raquel that started off for the heel team. Raquel has been booked as a heel powerhouse recently so her having to deal with odds stacked against her wouldn't be as odd from a WarGames logic perspective.

This womens division is way way way better than anything AEW has for sure.

That's been the recurring theme with NXT's version of these matches, especially now that they do two of them per event these days.

Yes but its been more piecemeal than the Undisputed Era vs. McAfee and his boys feud.

Like the whole feud revolves around Candice destroying Shotzi's tank which then added in the Rhea vs. Gonzalez feud that already had their blow-off moment happen and everyone else got added in mostly to fill up the team spots.

I'm starting to think they should just replace the WWE womens division with all these women.

That was a pretty cool and brutal looking double stomp by Dakota.

If they do the flurry of eliminations in this match with like 5 girls being pinned in 5 minutes, it will ruin this match.

And you know it's going to happen because thats what WWE does.

Meh i thought it was elimination.

That might have been the weakest or worst ever NXT WarGames match not because of the ring action but because it felt a bit of a mess in terms of pacing and them stalling to pad out the time.

Also having a somewhat anti-climatic ending.

Pretty decent spot fest. Io the best thing to happen to women’s wrestling since Asuka. Hope they have big plans for her.

It is pretty crazy how much better WWE’s women’s roster is than AEW’s. Who is AEW’s best woman? Would she even be in the top 15 of WWE? Doubt it.

I'd probably put her somewhere in the low 10-15 range if the women's rosters were combined.

WWE has a very talented overall women's division helped by all the hoarding they've done over the years but also has been handled piss poorly on the main roster. NXT has a ton of quality but probably too much depth for its own good since its the drip feed callups hasn't been helping the main roster divisions.

Yikes at Thatcher's bloody ear.

Ending felt a bit abrupt in the sense it seemed like the match still had some juice left but that Thatcher vs. Ciampa match was a very good hard hitting brawl.

Then again the ending felt abrupt because Vic Jospeh's pinfall call was very flat or bland unlike Mauro would have done if he was still around.

That match was ok

They should have Ciampa help Gargano win his title back tonight and reunite DIY.

Vic Joseph is even worse than Michael Cole with the forced fake excitement... killing me

This strap match has been a bit boring so far. Then again almost all of Lumis' matches are like that because of his ring style.

Dexter Loomis needs a new name.

Ouch at that chair spot to Grimes.

Strap match was decent at best but was also one of the dullest ever in TakeOver history.

Still can't get into Lumis matches in NXT outside of the cinematic one he had at Halloween Havoc. His gimmick and ring style doesn't really fit with NXT's style.

Why didnt they show Loomis hogtie Grimes.

NXT security must be sleeping on the job since a random vulture managed to sneak into the venue.

Barrett is the only thing saving this broadcast team. All the hate Renee Young got for Raw, she was still better than Beth.

Also, Damien Priest might be my favorite theme today.

Going to laugh if Priest wins considering he got the jobber-like entrance treatment for this match.

IT WAS AUSTIN THEORY ALL ALONG!

:| at Ruff's title reign being a big pile of nothing in the end. NXT literally gave him the title just to pad out the Priest vs. Gargano feud since they sort of booked themselves into a corner for it.

That NA title match was going on very good until the shenanigans dragged it down.

TakeOver WarGames has been a very solid upper mid-tier TakeOver show but really lacking the holy shit or amazing moments so far.

Just suddenly realized the sound effect used for the WarGames countdown buzzer is the same as first part of The Fiend's lights out sound effect.

Was wondering throughout this whole show why it sounded like something I've heard before in wrestling.

Imagine if it were Rich Swann instead of Ruff.

:lol: at Fish walking to the other ring to beat up someone on team McAfee instead of breaking up the Figure Four McAfee had on Cole despite being right near both guys.

Guess McAfee must have accidentally bought a Japanese table since it didn't break the first time.

:lol: at Cole getting nailed in the nuts and then quickly no selling it.

This WarGames match is starting to get a bit too long now.

Show seemed too long... used to always be like 2-2.5 hours for TakeOvers

:lol: NXT couldn't resist inducing the usual WWE/NXT style fast paced spots fest for this match since that was the one notable thing missing until the end.

Match itself was amazing though and easily the best from tonight's show.

Pat McAfee was crazy with some of the stuff he did and was willing to take in the match.

TakeOver WarGames was very entertaining overall. Still stays in the upper mid tier for TakeOvers despite that great Men's match. Only real negative was the somewhat boring Strap match that should have never been on the card and the Women's WarGames match having some issues because of some poor booking decisions.

Yeah, NXT insisting on having 2 WarGames matches and the typical 5 match TakeOver card for WarGames events these days meant it was only a matter of time before it get too bloated.

After tonight's show, I wouldn't be against them going back to just 1 WarGames match per event. Having 2 per show just exposes how much WWE reuses the same booking ideas for these matches considering they all devolve into weapons and spots fests after a while. Plus the usual NXT booking mentality for main event matches.

According to Fightful, Candice LeRae is currently assumed to have suffered a broken arm from the Women's WarGames match.
