Chelsea Green ran into bad luck getting hurt on her main roster debut, but she may have asked for her release as she's pretty openly tweeted about how she wasn't getting booked despite recovering

I really thought Kalisto was gonna be huge. A Luchador who does cool moves and speaks English.

Of that bunch Kalisto is the one I'd imagine companies will compete for. He's good at what he does.

I'm surprised at Billie Kay since I gathered she was featured prominently on SD and was fairly over. She's not a particularly good wrestler (at all) but she seemed to have a solid gimmick.

After Wrestlemania, taking a look at the roster.

Nah. This isn't Black Thursday. Vince called the maids in. It's the annual spring cleaning of the roster.

I'll chime in further when I get off work.

I'd be all for the IIconics in AEW. Don't need to give them a big push or anything as there are plenty of far superior in-ring women's workers there but other than Britt Baker the division is sorely lacking personality.

Out of that list, the only real notable loss is Samoa Joe since at least on commentary he was better and more enjoyable to listen than almost all of WWE's other commentators.

Chelsea Green was the biggest dud mostly because she barely did anything notable during her time in the company even if some of it was due to injury issues. She didn't even get a real big push in NXT which shows not even Triple & co. thought that highly of her.

WWE really needs better timing with their releases and pay freeze announcements since if Johnny Ace is claiming its due to "budget" reasons, then maybe don't release a company report a couple days prior revealing that you shelled out millions to upper management for their yearly compensation.

Velveteen Dream is still employed as of right now.

Don't forget Jordan Devlin as well since the allegations against him was just as bad as the allegations against Dream.

That feels about right.

Billie and Peyton would thrive better as a team and in Impact before making a potential jump later to AEW. Would also give them a chance to get rid of any WWE stink and not be seen as just another WWE castoff going right to AEW.

Joe could also go to ROH as well since he has some great past history there.

Well, Joe is the big name on that list. Don't know if he got clearance from his Doctor to get back in the ring. Wouldn't be surprised if Impact called him up. Would be interesting to see him in AEW, but only as a backstage guy like a coach or something.

Any usefulness Gronk had for WWE evaporated the moment Bad Bunny showed up and caused their online shop sales to skyrocket. Same for him generating way more mainstream interest and social media talk for the company.

According to Fightful Select, Samoa Joe's release was less due to "budget cuts" and more over issues of him wanting to wrestle again while WWE wasn't willing to medically clear him.

Both sides ended up agreeing to go their separate ways leading to his release yesterday.

The IIconics being released is funny to me. Not funny "haha", or even funny at them, but like... weird. A couple of years ago, WWE was insistent that they were going to be the biggest thing ever. I'm not saying they're godawful, but I feel there were obviously better in-ring girls than them and there are better looking girls than them in general. They were poised to be the act that the whole women's tag-team division was centered around in spite of that... and now they're post-Wrestlemania housecleaning fodder.

To put in perspective how weird that seems to me, let's substitute them with, say, Roman Reigns. Given his current position, status, push, etc... then they decide around, say, September or October to just not give him anything to do, then unceremoniously release him during next year's April sweepstakes.

so joe was not ready to be a color guy, he might be able to get a short term deal with aew before he is forced to do another role like color or mouthpiece.

Not too surprised with many of the releases really , the roster including developmental is massive and if they are going to be doing the post Wrestlemania call ups then they need to clear some space.
Maybe the Iiconics could have stayed but they will get opportunities and a pay check elsewhere.
I am not too aware so asking with the international guys ie Wesley and Kay (Royce is married so I’m guessing is ok) what is the score with them staying in the USA if they are unemployed as guessing they are there on visas.

Tucker fascinates me in terms of opportunity - he's not a guy that's going to be able milk his WWE career for much on the nostalgia circuit, because he doesn't have much value in that regard without Otis. Nor is he going to immediately have major promotions clamoring to book him aside from AEW Dark-esque enhancement matches.

We don't know what Tucker outside of WWE looks like, because I don't think he's wrestled anywhere else. But if he still wants to wrestle he's someone who strikes me as more than talented and capable enough to reinvent himself and prove his worth elsewhere

I can see him either pulling a Thomas Santell and completely transforming himself on the indies, or else having a good run as an import somewhere like NOAH or one of the smaller Japanese promotions. There's just something about him that makes me think we haven't seen his best yet.

Mojo had a job for so long because of the possibility of having Gronk, it's as simple as that. Without Gronk Mojo wouldn't have had his biggest win, and he would have been let go years ago.

Meltzer only stated that it was a rumor going around backstage that a second wave was going to happen and possibly yesterday.

Usually whenever WWE does releases, its either in multiple waves close together or its one big wave with some trickling afterwards and NXT rarely being spared.

Last year's mass release took several days to a week to finish.


He still has sources but way less from the wrestlers side since they've mostly went to Fightful during the past couple years. Fightful even took over the late Casey Michael's role as being the go to outlet for wrestlers in NXT.

WWE thought they had a checkmate over the dirtsheets when they allowed talent to feud with Meltzer on Twitter without realizing the rest would just move on to other sheets outlets to leak news since Fightful and others were not on their blacklist.

That's my theory.

Joe has some name value. If he can get cleared, he can go pretty much anywhere. I don't know if he'll go AEW, because he takes the business and himself seriously. That is something to be mocked down there. I'm guessing Impact or Japan.

Mickey is interesting. I can see her going to either NWA with her husband or AEW, who sorely needs a veteran talent to teach some of their girls how to work. Either way, I can't wait to see Mickey vs. Thunder Rosa.

Chelsea Greene will likely go back to Impact. It'd be the best fit for her.

Mojo Rawley needs to reinvent himself if he's sticking around in wrestling, but he probably isn't.

Tucker isn't that big of a loss, to hell with what delusional marks think. The dude threw down a paper with his lines on it in front of the camera and is wondering why he wasn't used like his tag team partner, who is actually charismatic and entertaining.

The IIconics (I mention them together for a reason) have more value as a pair than as a solo act. That said, is the one girl weird looking or did she just have the WWE makeup cannon explode in her face? I ask because the WWE makeup cannon has a habit of making pretty girls look really ugly.

I'm sure Kallisto will be fine. He can always go back to Mexico.

Bo Dallas is going into real estate, from what I have heard, and good for him. He was a decent talent. If anyone would benefit from going to NWA as his real name, it'd be him. He can ride that train for a few bucks.

I'd actually like to see Joe in njpw for a short run, before he goes to AEW. Maybe even as a G-1 entry.

I just want to see him against Ishii and Suzuki.

I don't think AEW would book Joe in silly nonsense. Miro was booked that way because it's what he wanted for some reason.

Joe has the clout and veteran status, where I don't think they'll make Joe do anything he doesn't want to.

The only way WWE releases Samoa Joe is if they genuinely believe Joe is at risk of a life threatening injury.

Like DBryan and Edge, amirite.
