Oh wow. TK going into major meltdown “Eric Bischoff calling out Vince McMahon” mode. He’s so fucking awkward and insecure, and it’s telling he feels the need to make himself a TV character. Not a good look for AEW. Bush fucking league.

Yeah, it's pretty cringe-worthy. Tony isn't naturally funny/charismatic so this comes off really embarrassing imo. Somebody has to tell TK "no" sometimes...

Look, he’s got a hard gig: No one can say he’s lazy. But none of these positions have been earned, and he doesn’t do well in any of them. He is not a good performer. He is not a good booker. He hasn’t proven himself to be particularly smart nor mature enough to handle these sorts of roles. Fulham FC have been knocked down. The Jaguars fucking suck. AEW runs off viewers and has lost its TV slot. Now he’s hearing that WWE are looking to big dog the working relationship he was bragging about and filing trademarks for. But that’s his fault. He is the guy who appointed himself to these bought positions. It’s hard to feel sorry for a guy who won’t fucking delegate to smarter people.

And if I’m New Japan and I’m hearing TK cut a passive aggressive amateur promo on a business guy who doesn’t even really have a public profile, and has presumably been nothing but respectful in business dealings, I’m fucking kicking that asshole to the curb. Especially as they use my promotion and my talent, that I have so kindly lent him, as some sort of bragging rights like they’re pawns in his fucking game.

Normally I'd agree,but AEW has been more than happy to take shots at WWE in the past, with about the same subtlety as a brick through a window. So it's hard to say if this indicates truth to the rumors because its really just par for the course, for AEW.

My general rule of thumb is other promotions should never mention WWE.
Back in the day WCW, pre-Nitro, rarely ever mentioned them. They'd acknowledge they existed but that was about it. If I am watching one company ideally I don't want to think about the company I am not currently watching. |
