Miz and Maryse!

Evil Vito 01-25-2022 01:00 PM

Feel like Undertaker is headlining in Texas, surely.

That's what I was thinking as well

That stupid class action lawsuit has so many names on it. I wonder if the company will ever say "fuck it" and put in long overdue names like Demolition.

The compromise is to let Demolition in but Smash needs to go in as "Mr. Hole in One" Barry Darsow.

Bad News Gertner 01-25-2022 01:14 PM

Blacktop Bully!

Evil Vito 01-25-2022 01:17 PM

With WWE willing to do some stuff with Impact.......D'Lo Brown could go in as the token beloved midcarder from yesteryear (and, from the company's standpoint, the "token black" inductee).

Bad News Gertner 01-25-2022 01:20 PM

Dude, there's only one black wrestler who needs to be in

https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/edit...042166-800.jpg

Bad News Gertner 01-25-2022 01:21 PM

Side note: the WWE has run out of old dead black wrestlers to induct in its Legacy Wing. This was evident when friggen Brickhouse Brown got in last year

Good excuse to add an extra $20 to his photo fee to have the ring included in the pic.

Demolition was my first thought.

Mr. Nerfect 01-25-2022 05:45 PM

I’m fairly certain Sylvain Grenier was a plaintiff on that concussion lawsuit against WWE. That’s another reason I found his re-hiring by the WWE to be so fucking weird, because I think he’s the only person that was on there that WWE has mended bridges with, unless I’m overlooking someone else.

So we can get Sylvain Grenier as an agent and not Demolition into the WWE Hall of Fame?

Mr. Nerfect 01-25-2022 05:48 PM

The only thing holding a guy like Taker back is if he wants to go in this year. If he’s not feeling “old enough” yet, he might want them to wait a few years.

Demolition was blackballed long before any of the recent class action lawsuits. Specifically Ax (Bill Eadie), as he and WWE have had legal.action against each other going back to the early 90's. Barry Darsow seems like he is on good terms with WWE, just not as Smash.

Bad News Gertner 01-25-2022 06:43 PM

Yeah, Eadie was apparently promised an agent role or something that didn't happen

Mr. Nerfect 01-27-2022 04:04 AM

I was trying to think of black wrestlers that are still alive the WWE could put in. You’ve got D’Lo Brown, 2 Cold Scorpio and who else is there? I may have missed someone really obvious. Made me think of something though:

What if Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas go in together? I think Haas lives in Texas.

Michelle McCool and/or Layla could be the women’s inductions. Hey, there’s another POC.

Could just see them officially confirming Batista goes in. And/or maybe Kane if he wants to take a trip and hang out with Taker.

XL 01-27-2022 04:47 AM

Ahmed Johnson is still alive. Induct him as Big T though. It’s about time Papa Shango went in. They could do a 3 Faces of Foley Rumble type deal and also induct Kama The Ultimate Fighting Machine and The Goodfather too. It’d make Charles Wright the first ever 4 time inductee but I can’t see many arguments against that being totally justified.

fundiddle 01-27-2022 08:14 AM

i can pretend i don't give a rat's patoot about no damn imaginary hall of fame, but for them to put kid rock in and not vader, that's darn close to unnerving!

Ha! Then he can come back one mo again with a hand iced out in HoF rings and play it up.

I thought for sure he had, but it turns out he hasn’t. He’s from Texas too, so that’s pretty perfect.

* Batista
* Sid Vicious (cannot believe he’s not in)
* Michelle McCool
* Slick

If they’re going to do Rey Mysterio family drama stuff down the line, maybe it makes sense to put in someone like Rey, Snr? I can still see Kane going in. He’s not first ballot, but I can just see it being used to bulk out the class. That leaves the tag team slot open. As well as a posthumous slot.

I don’t know why, I just don’t see it being Demolition. They’ve stuck to their guns on that. I believe Antonino Rocca has already gone in, but maybe they put him and Miguel Perez in as a tag team? Or Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas. Something like that.

Kane was inducted last year

XL 01-27-2022 05:21 PM

I had a weird feeling when Kane was mentioned earlier and I couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s because he was inducted less than a year ago

Evil Vito 01-27-2022 05:25 PM

I completely forgot that they even did a HOF class last year. Kinda shitty really since as far as I can tell, the speeches for the 2020 + 2021 HOF classes were done in front of a mostly empty arena. Their only real HOF "moment" was getting acknowledged at Mania.

I'd have probably skipped doing a 2021 class and just did 2020 + 2022 this year as actual events.

Bad News Gertner 01-27-2022 06:17 PM

Yeah I had to look that up. I have hardly any idea who got inducted the last two years

erickman 01-27-2022 07:43 PM

mickey james since she is going to the rumble anyway.

Sepholio 01-28-2022 11:14 AM

Observer is reporting that WWE wanted to put Jeff Hardy in this year. Jeff said no.

I'm taking the super low road here and gonna assume he was high when they asked him.

drave 01-28-2022 11:19 AM

LMAOOOOOOOO.

Why not take the HIGH road and assume that? Very funnyhausen, laugh or be cursed!!!!

I’m going to assume Dave Meltzer was high when he made up this story. Jeff walked out of a match and left his coworkers high and dry without an explanation. WWE isn’t under his thumb because they’re afraid of the all-mighty Hardy Boys teaming up in AEW, lol. They’ve worked elsewhere before. They’re their own worst enemies. They’re even older now than they were in 2017.

So let me get this straight, they fired him because he wouldn't go to rehab, but then turn around and want to induct him into the Hall of Fame, and the only source for this information is Dave Meltzer :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: come on

Too bad some workers didn't change the first L to an N.

ron the dial 01-28-2022 03:45 PM

lol he showed up at the GCW hammerstein show wearing a vinny mac mask during a match, and then proceeded to talk shit about everyone on the card from his lonely merch table after the show.

Well, apparently they fired him under suspicion he needed rehab. Jeff Hardy just walked out of a main event…just because. So the egg is on their face for some reason. That’s why they want him back.

DAMN iNATOR 01-28-2022 05:40 PM

Wonder who would induct 'Taker if Kane isn't available due to mayoring...

I’m pretty sure Kane would make himself available for that. But they could get someone like Bruce Prichard, Dutch Mantel, etc. Maybe even Michelle McCool, lol. I doubt Vince would ever induct someone personally, but if he were going to put a wrestler in…

I guess there’s Shawn, Trips and Austin too.

BigCrippyZ 01-28-2022 08:22 PM

Vince inducted Austin IIRC.

BigCrippyZ 01-28-2022 08:24 PM

If it's going to be a wrestler, there are a lot of high profile guys who could induct Taker based on the quality feuds he had.

drave 01-29-2022 11:15 AM

It'd break a lot of "tv stuff" - but how about Lesnar does it - the breaker of the streak. He can put Taker over and talk about all that, blah blah blah.

Jordan 01-29-2022 11:22 AM

I think Kane would induct Taker, makes the most sense as I can't really imagine anyone other than Paul Bearer (RIP)... well maybe Bruce Prichard but I doubt that would have the most meaning for Taker.

That's a really tough question when you think about it. Who is the right person to induct The Undertaker in the WWE HOF. You're looking for a legend, someone Taker has history with and really should be close friends with. So I think Kane is the guy for the job.

Jordan 01-29-2022 11:23 AM

2nd Pick for Taker would be Austin, just because of the star name, they are friends and it's in Texas. Makes some sense and is a good prediction I think.

BigCrippyZ 01-29-2022 07:26 PM

HHH maybe?

I don't think that they're great friends or anything but they seem to have a ton of respect for each other and have worked together quite a bit over the last 20+ years. They do seem to have become somewhat close in terms of helping or talking about career and some personal things over the years too, especially in the last 5-10 years since they've both become limited or special appearance wrestlers.

Is HHH healthy enough to want to appear or even do it though?

Sepholio 01-29-2022 07:28 PM

Taker should be inducted by a hologram of Paul Bearer speaking from the other side of the veil.

Bad News Gertner 01-29-2022 07:33 PM

Kane would definitely be inducting Taker.

Bad News Gertner 01-29-2022 07:34 PM

Wait. Better idea

They should have Brian Lee induct Taker in Faker Taker garb

Bad News Gertner 01-29-2022 07:35 PM

The Rougeaus need to be in.

Yes. I was thinking of them the other day as likely candidates. I get trapped about thinking of people from the region WrestleMania is hosted in, when that really doesn’t matter.

Bad News Gertner 01-29-2022 09:27 PM

It's a bit surprising considering Ray Rougeau was one of the French commentators until last year. I know Jacques is a pain in the ass and rubs people the wrong way but still. Jacques Rougeau giving a Hall of Fame speech is something I need in my life.

Yeah that's one of those weird cases where if Ray had the success Jacques had he would have been inducted a decade ago easy. They probably would not want to JUST induct Jacques as a Rougeau Brother, since The Mountie and The Quebecers were much more successful.

I think I knew Ray was a commentator for them, but it’s still kind of weird to think about him being involved in the WWE very, very recently.
