Per WWE corporate site
Vince McMahon today released the following statement: “As I approach 77 years old, I feel it’s time for me to retire as Chairman and CEO of WWE. Throughout the years, it’s been a privilege to help WWE bring you joy, inspire you, thrill you, surprise you, and always entertain you. I would like to thank my family for mightily contributing to our success, and I would also like to thank all of our past and present Superstars and employees for their dedication and passion for our brand. Most importantly, I would like to thank our fans for allowing us into your homes every week and being your choice of entertainment. I hold the deepest appreciation and admiration for our generations of fans all over the world who have liked, currently like, and sometimes even love our form of Sports Entertainment. “Our global audience can take comfort in knowing WWE will continue to entertain you with the same fervor, dedication, and passion as always. I am extremely confident in the continued success of WWE, and I leave our company in the capable hands of an extraordinary group of Superstars, employees, and executives – in particular, both Chairwoman and Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon and Co-CEO Nick Khan. As the majority shareholder, I will continue to support WWE in any way I can. My personal thanks to our community and business partners, shareholders, and Board of Directors for their guidance and support through the years. Then. Now. Forever. Together.” |
CAN'T IMAGINE WHY
well im watching SD tonight now
I am surprised.
SURELY NOT DUE TO THE INVESTIGATION!
Hopefully this means a huge facelift for the company. Lemme see what Triple H can do. |
Waiting for Vince to change his name to just "McMahon" so no one can Google and find out about the allegations.
HHH to come out next NXT 2.0 and talk about an evolution and get Roddy Strong to pin Bron Breaker in 10 seconds.
Bray Wyatt will be on Smackdown later walking to the ring with Vince’s head as a lantern.
from "fuck em!" to "im retiring"..I guess something has been uncovered.
now he can buy impact and have his fun there

Saved The Board the trouble of just tossing him.
What a moment! It's finally come! Thank you Vince for everything! I hope he see's my post!
Some reports that Brock has left Smackdown now. Should be fun to watch tonight.
Not good for the stock or the product. You now have non carnies running all of wrestling. This mightbe the moment wrestling dies. In 15 years looking back on this might be it.
It’s actually fucking happened. Wow.
“Co-CEO.” We’ll see how that works.
Brock reportedly walked out saying he has no interest in working for anyone but Vince
Oh boy |
Really happy for Stephanie McMahon.
Hope order of business #1 is Kevin Dunn 'moving on' next. I also think many ideas in general Vince would say 'no' to Steph would say 'yes'....she's more fan cognizant than her father ever was. |
We’ll see.

There's still more that the WSJ haven't printed yet, and more they'll probably never be able to print.
Vince is getting ahead of something, and it must be a lot bigger than what we already know. |
Oh they still have dirt on Kevin Dunn to print it sounds like
Imagine if a story dropped Monday about Vince covering up the murder of Nancy Argentino
Take down the Beaver!
I wanna send my condolences to all the paralegals out there who wont be able to become millionaires from consensual sex. Stay strong queens.
I really can’t believe they actually did it. After every scandal this guy survived without a scratch and this is the thing that took him down. Wow.

Lots of interesting things coming out of this.
Brock probably done for good. Smackdown should see instant change. There is no one to rip up storylines 30 minutes before showtime. Tonight and RAW just became must see. Nerfect, I know you are gonna say this won't change the product, but if he is truly gone, then this will be the make or break for the company. HHH and Stephanie in charge, I do believe will fully change the game. |
If Brock does leave, this creates a huge opening for someone to offer him big dollars to go somewhere and make a bit of a splash. I can see Vince calling Brock and smoothing things over though. He wants his stock to remain high.
The idea of Vince starting his own promotion with Brock as his major attraction out the gate is surreal though. |
Supposedly been confirmed by an insider that Brock has left.
Someone get Oldberg on the line, we need a short term fix for SS.
Also Maximum Male Models gonna come out and take out Reigns.
Have a 20 man battle royal to determine new contender
Montez Ford wins battle royal, has a great match at SummerSlam with Roman |
Quote:
It’s very fucking interesting, I’ll give you that. |
No way Brock shows up somewhere else. His contract will be frozen so damn fast if he bailed.
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins would probably be the easiest thing to piece together. Unless they want to freshen things up and go in an entirely new direction. I can think of one man who is ready, willing and GABLE.
Quote:
Brock just recently signed that new deal too. If he's truly walking out like Austin, his career is over.
Vince McMahon FINALLY fucking off!
Kevin Dunn likely cooked too. John Laurinaitis probably gone and done. Same for Bruce Prichard. Only one way to celebrate the airing out of the WWE corporate offices today. From my favorite band, who are from Stockholm, Sweden. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ELtpTBf-pMU" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Joey Tempest on vocals, John Norum & Kee Marcello on guitar, John Leven on bass, Mic Michaeli on keyboards, and Ian Haugland on drums, from a Nov. 1986 video shoot at the Hard Rock Cafe in Stockholm...that is EUROPE, who may soon be about to go into the studio for their 12th all-time album later this year. =) |
Remember when Brock first returned and Triple H had to spray his stink all over him in that three match series that included beating him at WrestleMania? Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea.
Does Jeff Jarrett find his way into the main event of SummerSlam? Nashville needs a hero, baby.
Quote:
If anyone should be nervous, it is Tony Khan. With Vince in power it was easy just to write storylines and let wrestlers do their thing. But now with HHH and Stephanie in power...that changes so much. |
Gonna laugh when Vince walks out on Dynamite and is announced as the new owner of AEW.
Per Fightful, talent believe Kevin Dunn will be leaving shortly as well
Damn, I would go out of my way to tune in to the first Dunn-free show just to see if the camerawork makes me nauseous |
Oh jeez Sunmerslam is next week? They couldn’t wait til after to do this?
Quote:
I’m not sure TV-14 is the way forward. And I’m not sure I trust Triple H to be cutting edge like that. I didn’t think he was that good at it way back when he was in his 30’s. But they are possibly more open to some creative business strategies. Could they swoop in and make a deal with New Japan? Could they even reach out to AEW about doing cross-promotion? Who knows? This could all be reversed in a week and be a ploy by Vince to get the board to beg him to stay on, lol. As you said, we’ll know better what this looks like in 6 months. |
Somehow this ends with Vince McMahon vs. The Rock in the 2024 Presidential Election.
They’ve made Roman vs. Brock more interesting if they can ever get it again.
Quote:
Raw is in MSG this week. He could have waited to do it there, or maybe he wants that to be where he says a public goodbye? |
Quote:
I guess he did announce this right before the market closed for the weekend so I’m guessing company value was the leverage
But that would mean Vince voluntarily retired because he thought he was a detriment to the company. Which is crazy to think about.
Maybe at 77 years old Vince just doesn't want the smoke.
They’re lucky they’ve built up so many guys to slot into the Main Event to replace Brock.
Too bad Adam Cole is injured / in AEW, with HHH in charge and Brock gone, Cole would definitely be challenging for the belt.

That's another interesting angle. With all the HHH NXT guys in different promotions, it makes it way more interesting. Find a way to get the titles off Owens. I'd be foaming at the mouth to get KO versus Balor for the title at Survivor Series.
dutch Mantell has a youtube up about vince retiring pretty good

I wonder how they open up Smackdown. Have to make some sort of mention on it
Something to keep in mind about Triple H/NXT: It was designed to target a specific audience. It was a vanity project for the WWE Network. Just because Triple H went with Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and Adam Cole in NXT doesn’t mean he’s going to have the same gameplay for 3 hours of Raw on USA, 2 hours of SmackDown on FOX.
He might treat them better. If that’s even a good thing. Look at what Adam Cole has turned into. But I wouldn’t expect NXT to turn back into NXT let alone Raw or SmackDown to do that. But hey, if he wants to get himself over, maybe a bit of “fan service” is the way they’ll go? It would be interesting if they at least tried to give Raw and SmackDown different vibes. Hell, we might even see WWE’s extensive trademark library mined if Vince isn’t going to be opposing overall direction. |
so when does jb take Kevin dunns spot
If they truly want to make SD and RAW separate, lead the build up to Survivor Series and have it mean something.
Do another draft after Survivor Series. Let the "winning brand" get like the first three picks or something. They have the potential to spice it up. Make things really interesting. Eliminate the Hell in the Cell PPV. Let it be what it was designed for, a feud ender but not a PPV. |

Just a wild prediction: She ends the roster split.
She’s got to come out and *do* something, right?
She'll probably cut a corporate speak promo
Steph can shoot out corporate speak in her sleep
This whole scenario reminds me of Birdgirl right now. Vince is gone. Brock skipped town.
And now Stephanie is flying in. <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/oduptVqdQ7iGuDc392" width="480" height="270" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/adultswim-adult-swim-company-birdgirl-oduptVqdQ7iGuDc392">via GIPHY</a></p> |
I wonder if she’ll call WWE a “safe space”.

I’m not gonna lie gentlemen, I’m excited for WWE again. I want to see where they go with this. It’s an opportunity to finally move the company forward with a different and fresh vision.

Nick Khan is gonna try to set up a residency in Vegas for Raw

I’m pretty sure Drew is winning the belts in the UK. It seems insane to me to put him in that situation just to lose. I don’t necessarily think he’s heading into Mania with them, but I can’t see him not winning. They might try to tie it into some publicity with Tyson Fury being special guest enforcer to make sure The Usos can’t get involved.
I don’t think the overall picture will change much, but nor do I think it should. |

lol @ anyone who thinks WWE changes because of this. WWE is in the business of making money; they aren't going to change a damn thing until they quit raking in the dough at record pace.

Change isn’t guaranteed at all. But it isn’t impossible either. New merchandising deals can be struck up, trademarks brought back to monetize. In the context of content, they might decide to try and put on more urgent shows instead of sitting in a low gear to be evergreen. They might value using their history more to promote their present (for example, something as simple as showing Edge & Rey winning the Tag Titles to promote them facing Judgment Day, if that’s the plan). The new regime might have the energy and desire to put some effort into putting their own stamp on things — at least for a while — even if they are largely likely to keep a steady hand with most things. |
Lately I’ve been thinking of the contemporary nature of content. In some ways, the past is as accessible to the youth of today as live entertainment. When it comes to moving away from PPV to streaming, I think a mistake some people make is thinking that the lower price point for the Network takes pressure off the shows. Whereas it could be the case that in years time, people will look back on what’s happening now and hold that sleepwalking against the company. Even if the WWE is alive and thriving, podcasts will be made about how barren this period is, with people daring themselves to watch it. WWE is so far ahead when it comes to modern delivery of their product. Vince was, frankly, brilliant to move over to the WWE Network and then lease it out. But I’m not sure anyone has really got a handle on how well content is or isn’t going to age, and how that is going to affect perception of the live product in a few years time.

tried to watch some of SD
Viking Raiders have been renamed 'Vicious Viking Raidiers' ...Vince's presence heavily felt |
Will watch if Maximum Male Models are on... Heard Max Dupri is NOT in the building tonight however... 😒
