Apparently Gunther and Nakamura had a real banger. No surprise there.

Felt like a more rounded ep of Rampage. If Sky Blue can work out her punches she has real potential I reckon.

The DBry Garcia segment was good, I thought Garcia played his part well.

The crowd seemed to want to boo the Trustbusters which is great although I agree Parker needs to hit the gym to be that monster.

Sonny kiss has never interested me, with this turn maybe that changes. I liked it, fresh direction attached to a stable that looks like it will get some airtime.

I liked Keith Lees promo too, he stayed away from the crazy words simple and to the point.

There’s a reason WWE cut Parker Bourdreaux.

Why you got us guessing Gertner?

It’s a shame Ronda sucks so bad at promos, because this renegade gimmick is getting the crowd on her side something fierce.

It doesn’t seem to have gone quite how they expected it to Liv is getting “you tapped out” chants, Ronda is getting more cheers than boos. They’ve lined up Baszler (heel) as Liv’s first opponent so it seems they want Liv as a face, but then you’ve got the whole Shayna-Ronda relationship. They’re exchange was interesting.

I’ve a lot more faith than this regime and “roll with the punches” though and take the story in a direction that makes sense.

They could just be rolling with the punches, but I think it’s intentional. They had to know Ronda was going to get cheered for snapping against Liv, even if she was supposed to tap at the same time as the pin. Liv’s promos have been coded a little bit with “I only tapped because I thought I had won” sort of stuff. It’s not heavy yet, but she’s going to be Bo Dallas, I think.

She has to go against heels at this point to continue positioning her like Rocky Maivia. It’s too obvious and defeats the purpose if she starts going against faces and you know you’re supposed to boo her.

The Ronda/Shayna stuff is interesting.

I don’t know when it will hit AEW and AEW fans that WWE doesn’t let go of top prospects unless there is something pretty major missing from them.

Just to go back to this: The stuff between Ronda and Shayna is an effective way of keeping Ronda plugged into the story without putting her into the match. It creates a bit more drama as to who is going to win since both women have got potential pathways with Ronda.

I want to see Ronda vs Shayna at WM

Just watched this edition of SmackDown. Such an easy watch. Everything flows so well. Everything happened with some sort of purpose. You can tell Heyman is involved now.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Gunther. What professional wrestlers, man. I don’t get where this “Nakamura is lazy now” bullshit comes from. Every time I see him he has a good match and gets over. Gunther is just tremendous at what he does. How can people whinge about the IC Title not meaning something?

Shayna Baszler is actually really likeable, imo. I’m naturally on her side against Liv Morgan.
