I had McAfee and Corbin on my list too. I can see something happening to set that up on SmackDown, but something doesn’t feel “right” about it. That’s about the biggest thing they have kind of been teasing that they can put together in that last week.

I mean, The New Day and The Viking Raiders doesn’t feel big enough, even if New Day are an act they’d probably like to emphasize.

Oh, I think I also had Miz vs. AJ vs. Lashley vs. Omos too. I don’t think that will be happening, but I haven’t seen Raw.

Like okay a stalker gimmick I guess but the kidnapping and stuff you mentioned is just trash. I mean there’s tons of fake shit in wrestling and when I was 11 I suppose I could put up with it but I honestly wasn’t hooked during the attitude era until 2000 because of how silly the storylines were. So I’ve never loved the storylines that stretched reality to this point, and hhh is supposed to add realism and cohesiveness to the product and this ain’t it.

I was more hooked pre attitude era tbh. I got put off by all the crash tv and the belts changing every fucking show even when I didn’t know what workrate was lol

I expected Raquel to come out before their first match as a team to beat the shit out of Aliyah and leave.

That Rollins & Riddle segment though. More of that. That's how you make shit believable. Riddle legit looks and sounds like he wants to exterminate Rollins.

Riddle sounds like a goof still (and looks). The dude is such an obvious heel...

Riddle sounded good. This is like what they wanted out of Van Dam. It’s refreshing that they want a different gear out of a guy they like. Rollins is just so fucking cheesy though. This is the influence of Broken Matt Hardy on wrestling — if you can’t talk, just talk weird and people will think you’re bad on purpose.

The match will kick a lot of ass though.

Riddle is also just a fucking beast man.
The pre-RAW parking lot footage and "separation". These little things go a very long way man. The past 3 RAWs, while I have not watched in completion, definitely has me more interested than they have in years.


I'd be all for Sami Zayn getting away from his goofy shit too. That dude can fucking go in the ring. Goofy looking as shit, but really good.


Wanna see Dexter Lumis get in the ring too.

Haven’t seen Dexter Lumis in a while. Sami Zayn is very talented. He’s got a lot of range. His clinging to the champion thing makes sense and works for him, but so does kicking it into another gear and proving he’s one of the best.

They're slow-burning Lumis following Miz around. Surely, they will have him go round with Ciampa before the "big payoff" of him getting to Miz. Curious to see the why of it though.




KO and Zayn are going to take the gold from the Uso's in a very convincing fashion, when they finally do clash. It'll be a helluva tag match that will be remembered well.

I liked the little twist with the “after we ended the interview”. Very nice.

I’m really enjoying the “Honoury Uce” thing with Zayn but I’m down for a Zayn/Owens reunion down the line.

I wouldn’t dislike Owens & Zayn as a team or anything (and I think that may have been the plan at one point), but I don’t mind them having their own path.

Feel like Sliks prediction of Sasha and Naomi returning last night will come to fruition Friday and they'll challenge Raquel and Aaliyah for the titles at Clash and win them back.

I think Sasha & Naomi will be back and challenge for the Tag Titles at Survivor Series in November. The show is in Boston, which is Sasha’s hometown.

So far it seems like most of the pro-HHH era stuff has been “Guys who weren’t deemed good enough for the main roster are on the main roster now!”, “Matches are longer!” and “People are getting their last name back!”

I’m glad the change has drawn some eyes but forgive me if I’m still skeptical.

Also forgive me if I don’t obsessively post in the Raw thread every week as I guess that’s the proper way to show a lack of interest.

I like the longer matches because it means if something is coming up I'm not interested in I know I don't have to pay attention for 15-20 minutes, which is great on a 3 hour show.

Plus if you were there live you could go to concessions/restroom and not miss anything you actually wanted to see.

I think the overall pacing has been better. 3 hours is still 3 hours, but Ido feel like its gone by faster lately.

I mean, what do you want? Cause its not like the 2000's didn't have their fair share of unrealistic gimmicks. Are you looking for it to be more real sports grounded like new japan?

That said, setting it up against a face team would be a weird way to go.

I’ve always found the Dexter Lumis stuff to be largely shit. It’s not necessarily a knock on the guy, but the gimmick is just way too much. And the name is a little on-the-nose too. You can be a little more grounded and mature by shedding that extra “there’s no way someone like that could ever exist” vibe.

I didn’t like The Fiend or Braun Strowman either for similar reasons. They’re cheesy as shit.

It doesn't need to be super real. And while 2000 had its moments of silliness (Mae Young hand birth, the culmination of the Autin whodunnit storyline), the meat of it with Chris Kreski at the helm avoided the utter shite.

I think I draw the line at stalker/kidnapping stuff. Like at that point, just have your wrestlers rob banks or sell coke on TV since apparently, they can get away with everything.

Can see where you're coming from. I guess I don't care as much as long as its not the main event. Like, the kidnapping stuff with Joe Gacy and Bron Breaker bothered me. This, not so much, since its the undercard and it involves the miz who is a more entertainment based wrestler anyway.

Tbh the taker stuff is why I didn’t watch as much raw as most. Thought he was too silly. Didn’t love American Badass either cuz he was boring.

I did. It’s a little bit his name, a little bit how he was presented with The Wyatts, a little bit the production around his “feats of strength.” He was just way too cartoonish for my tastes.

Step 1 in getting me to watch again.

Hmmm. I could do without Braun tbh.

I'm for it. Way better "giant" than Omos rn. Gives Omos more time to develop hopefully before Braun puts him over as the next monster, maybe at like WM40.

Between Tyson Fury and his rumored eventual match with Drew and now Braun coming back (he's not finished with Roman yet), Kross and whatever he's up to and Theory still running around...there is def some kind of chicanes happening around the main event.

Can see them maybe having Theory come away with a title. He'll think the match is for both, but it isn't, it's only one of them. He goes back to RAW with his new title and I won't be surprised if he is fed to someone Monday night on RAW to get a new champ who will carry the belt for a bit. Either that or we get a tournament to name a #1 contender to the now RAW title, whichever it is, probably to culminate in a match vs Theory at whatever the next PPV is or Crown Jewel if they do that in October again.

Actually maybe have the finals of the tournament at the next PPV/Crown Jewel and then the title match at Survivor Series. Give time to build the title feud.

Also, with the drastically increased focus on actual wrestling since Haitch took over, a tournament does seem rather in order. Can always book it to advance some other feuds too. Maybe end up with some match ups like Damian Priest v Edge and Rey Mysterio v Finn Balor, stuff like that. Wouldn't shock me at all if a tournament right now ended up in a Riddle v Rollins II rematch at the next PPV, winner to get the title shot.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bray back v soon with Braun back now. Wonder if they bring back Rowan too.

Wyatt Family 2.0 with Alexa gonna show Judgement Day + Dom Mysterio how to do the "dark" gimmick correctly.

I could see Braun costing Drew.

Bring back THE RYBACK instead

It’ll be about 24 hours away. I can’t help you with Peacock. Most yanks seem to pay diddly for it.

There are tiers but I don’t think the free version allows you to watch live events.

Could perhaps be the return of the Bray-Ex-Machina where when they don't know how to end a match and don't want either guys to lose, they just have Wyatt show up and attack them for some reason.
