Was maybe gonna "check it out" to "see" what AEW puts forward to "offer" on a "new show" that might have "more eyes" on it... but I see it isn't airing live in Canada, not airing until 10PM. Too late to start watching for my blood... especially having to wake up early tomorrow for work.
I can't watch live so I will have to dvr
Just a nit pick, but while I love the intro song I do not love the video package. Seems to not match the upbeat/"bright" feel of the tune if that makes sense. Video looks like it was made for generic heavy metal intro with explosions.
Excellent song choice tbh. Glad to see Miro coming back. Hobbs getting more TV time is a good thing. Don’t care about Scorpio Sky anymore. He’s whatever.

Didn’t realise it launched today. Great stuff. Already the best show of the week.
Is JR ageing really that funny, fuckrod?
Yes
Is it?
Tis.
An old man fell and smashed his face. I'm howling.
Xrod is just sad and lonely and this is the only place he gets attention, obvs. Makes me yearn for droford.
The Collision video doesn’t match the song. It’s also going to be funny if they have to change it because they get booted to another night.
No one gets AEW in Australia. If it were on TV, I MIGHT give it a chance. I want there to be a good AEW to put the bad AEW on notice so bad. Have a feeling they’re going to do all they can to shoot themselves in the foot though.
I mean, you’re featuring Luchasaurus on the first show.
Glad Kevin Kelly is probably getting paid $500k a year now.
Looking forward to the political disaster that ensues if Collision either:
A) Flops. B) Succeeds. There are people with executive positions in the company that don’t want this to do well. That’s insane to me. |
Why is Orange Cassidy being involved in this show? It defeats the purpose of having a CM Punk or a second straight-forward show at all. I hope he’s just got an International Champion placeholder slot.

You guys don't even know a callback from this very site??? Quote:
Sensitive! |
Drebin is on site with exclusive reports for all of TPWW's wrestling fans!
First one to spot Drebin in the crowd gets a prize. Look for the "Seph + Dale < Noid" sign. |
Hope you have a good time.
Does JR claim that AEW beats WWE? That sounds like more of a Chris Jericho, Dave Meltzer or Matt Hardy thing.
Not a sellout. Hard cam side fairly bare. No one in the upper deck so they didn't sell those seats. Other side fairly full.
Was a legit sellout for punks return last time. |
pipe bomb time

Hahahaha Christian celebrating with the title is so brilliant.
Good hoss match.
Christian celebrating like he won it is great. |

So I’m guessing nothing noteworthy came from the Punk promo.
Expecting big things from this. These guys are fucking machines in the ring

Still a really good promo. Worth a watch on youtube. |
Andrade vs buddy delivered
Figure 8 at the finish was a nice touch |
Have to believe this is leading to house of black vs LIJ at forbidden.
miro time
miro crush
Sooooooooo nice having good commentary in aew
Good showcase for miro's return.
This may have been the best first hour of AEW television I've ever seen.
Haven't been a fan of this whole outcasts thing, but I gotta say I like their aesthetic.

Oh god ruby soho has to be concussed wtf
Today I'm thankful for whoever made skye blue's tights
lol at nigel hamming it up during the cloverleaf.
Fucking blind tag halfway across the ring
LEARN THE FUCKING RULES |
I 100% thought this was where the momentum was going to drop off. Awful blind tag aside, that was much better than I was expecting. Good stuff.
Hopefully punk doesn't get injured again
He does not look great tbh
Looks like hes been pounding those muffins
So does dax tbh
well ftr will do most the match
JR sounds awful. Admire the dedication but maybe he should have took the night off.

Not a bad show though ftr
Just tuning in
Ok now punk is looking good. That's reassuring.
Kinda want to see a punk vs jay white program.
Love AEW.
Fucking great main event
poor juice takes the pin

If they can leave most of the dumb stuff on dynamite and deliver shows like this every week, then I'll tune in consistently.
Sounds like a good show. I saw the Punk promo. Good stuff. A bit grossed out by Luchasaurus winning the TNT Title.
Christian Cage should be the TNT Champion and Luchasaurus should just wrestle jobbers for him when he doesn’t want to work.

There’s no need for Dynamite if they just make Collision good each week.

I’m hoping Collision does well compared to Dynamite. It’d be fun if the Dynamite crew are faced with proof good wrestling can do well.
I think The Elite are waiting to sign their deals until they see how Collision goes so they can leave in a huff if they need to.
Drebin will be back with a report soon. Great show. Warm crowd hot at a few points. Tune in next week!

Obviously haven’t been able to see the whole show, but man is it good having Kevin Kelly on commentary. Honestly, just having a wrestling show where the commentary doesn’t suck is something to appreciate and a huge point in its favor.
I think it’s likely this hurts Dynamite. What are the reasons left to watch that show? I can see maybe 200k or so making Collision their new AEW priority — even if they DVR it.
And I could actually see Jim Cornette dropping Dynamite in favor of Collision too. Vote with your eyeballs. |
People don’t want to hear Cornette review shows he might actually enjoy. His “What the fuck!” rants are the only reason he reviews current wrestling to begin with.
I mean, personally I’d prefer he not review any current stuff at all but his hate rants are what draws. |
I’m not sold on House of Black as a faction or the idea of Trios Titles. What they’ve put up of Andrade vs. Buddy Matthews was good though. Some attempts to tell a story by Matthews, which was always my criticism of him. He’s just spot, spot, spot — but if he’s got this in him, then good.
I hope La Faccion win the Trios Titles and then Buddy leaves the House and goes and does his own thing. |

My favorite thing about Cornette’s modern breakdowns is when he gets something good then nitpicks it because he knows the guys will listen and be able to take it on. It’s a long time ago now, but he did it with American Alpha and Revival back in the day. You feel his passion peak and he starts going into overdrive in a positive way and it really hits you. I think he’ll probably do that with Collision, because even I noticed some obvious set-piece kind of stuff in the clips of the main event. I’m expecting a “it was really good, boys, but next time try it this way…”
When I say I can see him dropping Dynamite, I can see him dropping full-scale reviews. He’ll still do “Did you see this, Brian?” bits. Because people do love the rants. But I think he’ll push himself and his audience over to Collision, even if just to help the point.
AEW got it right. Its confident and smartly booked.
Enough of hints towards future feuds, great main event. A nice mix of new and old stars. WWE feels stale compared to this. |

To clarify: I both want Christian Cage to declare himself as above the TNT Title, but also have the strap over his shoulder and say “our title.”
Skimmed through it. Seemed good. Would probably have watched more of the Andrade v Buddy match if I had time.
If they add more titles for this show though then I’m out altogether. Brand splits and two world titles were the worst thing to ever happen to WWE. There’s already too many belts in AEW as it is, along with all their affiliates like ROH and NJPW. I assume they’ll be going with another world title though with punk having a belt in his bag. |
Punk's promo was very good (albeit not his best work and I'm not sure he was trying for an all-timer). He's a great orator. If you didn't like it, you just have a hard-on for him.
Good show. Didn't even fast forward once
Very solid debut episode I thought. Lots of good hard-hitting action. Might not be able to watch live most weeks but I’m intrigued so far.
Andrade/Buddy in particular was the tits.
I don’t mind Luchasaurus as TNT champion because Christian acting like he won the title is great stuff.
I dig the TNT Title mostly being contested between hosses. It’s a nice distinction with Cassidy having 15 minute title defenses against workhorse-style guys every Wednesday. |
They got me to bite in the main event. When they showed Dax and Cash being held at bay by BCG repeatedly, I thought Punk might’ve actually lost via passing out to the choke from Joe and that would’ve been a fascinating social experiment with that crowd.
Think they might do Punk vs Jay White next week if Punk isn’t booked at Forbidden Door
Can see NJPW not wanting White at the PPV feeling it might violate the loser leaves NJPW stip |

I have a feeling this will just get added to the rotation unfortunately. |

Punk’s promo was good. Not an all-timer, as Dale said, but it ticked all the boxes. It addressed where he was and created a narrative about his crowd reaction (“cheer me, boo me, love me, hate me”). The Bucks jab was good. Set the show up as not being about “deserving” it, or about match quality, but about the kayfabe.
He was in a tough spot and he overachieved considering his work was going to be under a microscope. |
Someone got into the guys’ ears about how to work too. You’re getting stories coming out of the action. Way better than the usual Dynamite fare.
Went out of my way to watch Andrade vs Buddy, it was a very good decision. Awesome match.
