Big Vic 01-31-2025 09:27 AM

Alex Shelley is still wrestling? Haven't heard that name in years.

Lock Jaw 01-31-2025 11:26 AM

Curious to see how MCMG can move these days... 2 out of 3 vs DIY could be fun I guess....

But of course the main attraction is the Rumble.

Feel like Kevin Owens gets a lot of world title shots at the Rumble and always misses out on being a part of them...

Big Vic 01-31-2025 12:30 PM

Do I remember hearing like D-von never participated in a rumble?

Lock Jaw 01-31-2025 12:37 PM

I guess last year Owens only had a US title match... year before that he fought Roman.... three years in a row with no Rumble appearance for Owens cause he's busy fighting for titles

Not only that, they actually captured the WWE Tag Team Championships in their 3rd match in WWE after already having beaten DIY immediately before the title match. They lost them last month to DIY after 42 days, then they won a #1 contender tournament 2 weeks ago and the 2 out of 3 falls match announcement between them and DIY was made on last week’s SmackDown!.

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2025 04:15 PM

Big spotlight for DIY/MCMG here.

I’ll probably watch the Rumble close to live for the first time in years. They’ve done a good job hyping this one. I’m curious to see how they put it all together.

Jey Uso is probably going to be #1 or #2 so he can do the big entrance.

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2025 05:50 PM

Pulling for a Chad Gable win. I think he’s got a good chance.

Lock Jaw 01-31-2025 06:45 PM

I think I had the idea a couple of years ago that there would be a tournament to see who fought Roman for the title at WM, and the winner of the Rumble would fight Gunther for the IC title and I had Chad Gable booked to win that Rumble.

Gable wins the Rumble, Christian wins the tournament. :y:

xrodmuc316 01-31-2025 08:09 PM

There is gonna be some fuckery in the men's rumble for sure. Thinking they are gonna go with Cena to face Gunther.

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2025 10:07 PM

I’m leaning more towards Punk.

rez 02-01-2025 01:08 AM

I think the whole dang thing will get cancelled because xrod and noinfofect will collide their small brains. booom. cells for fish to evolve.

OssMan 02-01-2025 11:22 AM

OssMan 02-01-2025 11:23 AM

Did they remove the "universal" championship or what . . .

Roman won both, then when Cody beat him they quietly dropped the “Universal” from the “Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.”

Mr. Nerfect 02-01-2025 05:00 PM

I like MCMG. DIY are talented guys that don’t hit. That 2/3 Falls should be a great match though. It plays into how DIY first won the NXT titles. I’m sure the audience will eventually be willing to “get up” for it. It’ll probably be one of the more noteworthy tag title matches on PPV in some time.

Mr. Nerfect 02-01-2025 05:50 PM

When I saw Carmelo Hayes was confirmed for the Rumble, I thought he might get dumped out and get into it with a jaw-jacking Pat McAfee or something. Now I see that Hayes had something on SmackDown with Tyrese Haliburton. I can see something going down there, re: Hayes vs. Indiana.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:08 PM

The benefit of not really following the product is I have no fucking clue who will win. Stayed away from betting odds, twitter etc. love the Rumble.

DAMN iNATOR 02-01-2025 07:13 PM

I’m dreading Cena winning the men’s RR and winning #17. IMO Nobody should break his/Flair’s record. Wouldn’t “feel right” for a part-timer to win a world title with < a year before retirement.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:13 PM

The stats on the bottom of the screen are a nice touch, alas also a depressing realization my eyesight is getting to the point where I might need cheaters.

DAMN iNATOR 02-01-2025 07:14 PM

Don’t think they’ll do it, but would be cool to see Bayley win the women’s RR and become the first woman in history to win back-to-back RR matches.

DAMN iNATOR 02-01-2025 07:17 PM

First NXT/TNA wrestler in this year’s women’s RR. Will they ever have an NXT wrestler win a RR? 🤔

DAMN iNATOR 02-01-2025 07:20 PM

#VINTAGEWardrobe Malfunction

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:22 PM

Someone is definitely going to walk to the ring so slowly that the interval expires before they get there.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:29 PM

I yearn for the days of everybody on the roster having an identifiable theme where you know who it is as soon as the music hits. I have no idea who anyone is until they’re shown on screen and, unfortunately, it’s a problem in the stadium too. Not a good combo when added to the usually acoustic issue a football stadium has.

slik 02-01-2025 07:29 PM

I like the stats on the bottom of the screen

slik 02-01-2025 07:29 PM

My predictions:

CM Punk
Charlotte Flair

Bad Bunny returns to eliminate Logan Paul

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:32 PM

Just remembered that for how deflating it is to hear how little of a reaction most of the entrants are getting, it’s gonna be 10x more lifeless and depressing in Saudi next year █:(

Cole saying Bayley is a Hall of Famer. Probably someday, Cole, but not yet LOL.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:48 PM

Not unique to this Rumble but the blatantly inconsistent entry windows always makes me laugh. I appreciate that for AEW’s casino gauntlets they openly say “yeah, there are unlimited entrants and they intervals are random”

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 07:53 PM

Holy shit Jordynne Grace is awesome

DAMN iNATOR 02-01-2025 07:55 PM

Damn, it’s really been 2 years since we last saw Alexa Bliss...

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:10 PM

Oh dammit…in my paid Rumble pool I had #19 in the women’s Rumble and #27 in the men’s

If Charlotte wins there’s probably no way they’re gonna double down on #27 winning, even if it is the “lucky number”

Kinda want Cena to win now just for the two Rumble winners to take a picture captioned “we win lol”

DAMN iNATOR 02-01-2025 08:28 PM

PLEASE do not let Charlotte Flair win another women’s championship...would be nightmarish...

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:29 PM

Boring winner. Mostly boring Rumble pacing wise but there were some cool moments near the end

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:30 PM

Feels like very little happened for most of that match because they needed to fill the ring for the “Nia eliminates everyone” spot

Lock Jaw 02-01-2025 08:30 PM

Women's Rumble was pretty meh this year.... usually it has been good... runner up lady had a moment of "I could get in the ring, but I gotta wait"

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:35 PM

My biggest critique of modern Rumbles is for how much the luck of the draw is supposed to matter - you have 2-3 people lasting an hour every year. Because they insist on big names being the first 2 entrants every year

slik 02-01-2025 08:39 PM

Shelley and Sabin's first wwe ppv in front of 70k fans

slik 02-01-2025 08:40 PM

This Rumble has bigger attendance than WM did last year...or will this year, just a larger stadium than either venue.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:42 PM

I was wondering why MCMG/DIY had a way longer video package than I ever thought they’d get and then remembered I paid for the adless Peacock for this show and that if I hadn’t, this would’ve been when I was having commercials shoved at me.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:44 PM

More themes with voiceovers or sound effects at the beginning.

Def Rebel should be arrested for war crimes.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 08:54 PM

DIY will always be one of my favorite stories because they weren’t even planned to be signed at the time WWE was signing everyone. They took a chance booking opportunity and turned it into lucrative careers, maybe the biggest feud in NXT history, bunch of titles between them etc.

owenbrown 02-01-2025 08:58 PM

Charlotte Flair wins again?

McAfee having to do a nod that said “probably not” at the notion of getting into the HOF someday is funny. He knows only one punter has ever made it and it’s just nearly impossible.

Probably a better chance he goes in as a contributor as some of the other media guys have, which is a depressing enough thought. Can picture a 70 year old McAfee standing up there in a HOF jacket colored tank top.

Roxanne came pretty damn close!

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 09:15 PM

70,000 strong loving the Codester!

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 09:16 PM

AEW PPVs certainly run too long but I appreciate them more after seeing this. No bullshit, right to the next match.

15-20 minutes of stalling between matches is obscene

slik 02-01-2025 09:20 PM

Cody for sure going to do a goofy looking moonsault during this

That is the perfect description of AEW, an endless exhibition of meaningless wrestling matches. Nothing matters.

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 09:23 PM

Roman holding the belt for 3 and a half years straight to Cody having a presumed year+ long reign is funny to me. Would love KO to throw a wrench in it and somehow get the win here.

maybe this should be more than a 4 match card

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 09:24 PM

KO winning followed by a Sami Rumble win would be really fucking cool

owenbrown 02-01-2025 09:24 PM

also why do I feel that KO is not winning this?

Roman probably winning the Men's Rumble

4-5 matches is pretty standard for a Rumble PPV, especially with 2 Rumble matches. But the pacing in between is hilarious. And it’s all due to contractual obligations with Peacock. They show ads and everyone else sees random stalling efforts.

Probably nice for the people there live to take a piss and get a beer without missing a match at least. Makes for bad at-home viewing tho.

owenbrown 02-01-2025 09:45 PM

this is so lame

owenbrown 02-01-2025 09:45 PM

KO buried

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 09:47 PM

MOTN so far but that’s not saying much

Hoping the men’s Rumble can salvage this pretty boring show

slik 02-01-2025 09:47 PM

KO vs Cody was great

owenbrown 02-01-2025 09:49 PM

they will never make KO world champion will they?

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 09:52 PM

I think Cody asked the ref if KO was ok and just selling, and when the ref told him yes he then went to the table to do his planned celebration spot

That Alabama Slam spot could’ve gone horribly wrong

owenbrown 02-01-2025 09:52 PM

this Royal Rumble is the AFC South of Royal Rumbles because it is in Indianapolis

owenbrown 02-01-2025 09:53 PM

Why was Sami out there if he was a non factor?

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 09:54 PM

Big E, get your ass out of that suit and into the Rumble!

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:01 PM

Rey at 5’6” is one of WWE’s most egregious height inflations

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:04 PM

Ok this is a fucking awesome way to start!

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:06 PM

"2 OF THE MOST RECOGNIZED WRESTLERS ON THE PLANET!"

Michael Cole cracked me up with that one lol

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:11 PM

I can't believe Rey is 50 now

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:13 PM

More action in these first few intervals than 90% of the women’s Rumble. Good choices to get this set of wrestlers in there.

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:14 PM

Otis outweighs any 2 of the first 5 combined lol

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:16 PM

Here comes a lot of eliminations

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:19 PM

LOL Tozawa

are you fucking kidding me?

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:21 PM

That dude is concussed for sure holy shit lol

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:21 PM

Bron Breakker is the man

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:21 PM

Otis saying “nah fuck you” and tossing the streamer over the table cracked me up

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:28 PM

Oh shit

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:36 PM

LET'S GOOOOOO

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:36 PM

So happy for Joe Hendry getting this moment

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:40 PM

The force at which Bron hits spears is incredible

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:41 PM

what's the over/under on how long before Bron becomes a world champ?

xrodmuc316 02-01-2025 10:44 PM

When did Finn get rap music?

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:44 PM

what the fuck is Finn Balor's entrance music?

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 10:53 PM

Holy shit next year will be a decade of AJ in WWE.

Decent chance he wrestles long enough where his WWE tenure lasts even longer than his TNA one. Would be awesome for him to do one last TNA match with the working agreement.

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:54 PM

Here we go... Cena's last Rumble?

owenbrown 02-01-2025 10:56 PM

whoever eliminates Cena will probably get booed out of the building

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 11:11 PM

Fuck they’re gonna actually go Cena/Paul at Mania aren’t they?

owenbrown 02-01-2025 11:16 PM

Cena's gonna win huh?

Evil Vito 02-01-2025 11:16 PM

They showed restraint with the mystery entrants in this Rumble and it’s a good thing

Hendry is the perfect fun mystery guy, him and a few injury returnees are surprise enough

Lots of surprise entrants usually only happens when WWE don’t have faith in their roster. The 2012 Rumble was particularly egregious for it, like 7-8 surprises in that one including all the announcers.

The field for this one was loaded. Shitload of star power and that’s what people want to see. Glad they didn’t shoehorn McAfee or someone else in there. Handled it beautifully.
