Triple A 06-24-2004 04:26 AM

Have you ever walked out of a movie?

The only movie I have ever "walked out of" was the first Lord of the Rings. Usually I only go to the movies if it's a movie I really wanna see and I know I will like, but I was dragged to LOTR with some friends.

Anyway, I kept falling asleep like over and over, and then my phone rang and I was like WHOOOOOO and left the theater and talked on the phone for a while until the movie was finally over.

Terrible.

#1-norm-fan 06-24-2004 04:30 AM

I've never walked out of a movie but I would have walked out of Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2 if I wasn't with other people.

yianni 06-24-2004 04:44 AM

I haven't, instead I've just sat there with mates and made morons of ourselves, laughing at how shit the movie is, prime example being Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

toxic rooster 06-24-2004 04:50 AM

OK then, you asked for it.

My honour roll:

40 days and 40 nights
Pokemon 2000
John Q
Scary Movie 2
Not another teen movie
Varsity Blues

Frank Grimes Jnr 06-24-2004 05:00 AM

Bruce Almighty

Funky Fly 06-24-2004 05:11 AM

Nah, I usually know when a shitty movie is coming. Would have walked out of Batman and Robin if my whole family (and thus my ride home) weren't still inside.

The Mackem 06-24-2004 06:52 AM

I usually don't go to potentially crap movies but I wish I had walked out on Pearl Harbour and Titanic.

Paranoid Rattlesnake 06-24-2004 07:18 AM

I've fallen asleep during the Blair Witch Project but never walked out on a movie, unless toilet counts as walking out

Boomer 06-24-2004 09:05 AM

The Rookie

My ex-girlfriend got the idea that we would buy the tickets and sit down for 30 seconds, then exit the building and go walk around until we eventually made out the rest of the night.

DaveWadding 06-24-2004 10:48 AM

Nope, never... Master and Commander came pretty close though.

Boondock Saint 06-24-2004 11:02 AM

Nah. I'll give the film at least until the second act to see if it's suckyness will improve, and by then, I may as well stay for the rest of it anyway. I did pay for it after all. My friends and I were seriously contemplating it during Hulk though. That's prolly the only one I have seriously considered it.

PoisonIvy 06-24-2004 11:25 AM

I was tempted to walk out on that 3rd Harry Potter movie.

OssMan 06-24-2004 03:06 PM

Anger Management

John la Rock 06-24-2004 03:45 PM

Scary Movie 2 was the last movie I walked out of

Gonzo 06-24-2004 03:51 PM

I have never walked out of any movies but I fell asleep in plenty. The ones I can remember are The Rookie (because it was boring as hell) and the Riddick one, which I fell asleep and got up walked around to get candy out of the quarter machines twice.

loopydate 06-24-2004 04:13 PM

I never walk out of movies.

Triple A 06-24-2004 06:10 PM

Oh yeah, almost walked out of Anger Management because it was making me so fucking angry how illogical it was.

Loose Cannon 06-24-2004 06:19 PM

No, it's pointless to walk out of a movie, at least if you paid for it. Why waste the money. And I don't go into any movies expecting a lot of logic. You can throw the most illogical crap at me and I'll sit there and say "ok, that might happen." I'm not one of those people that go, "Oh, that's bullsh**, that will never happen in real life. It's a movie, who the hell cares. Just accept it as is. The only movie I was really pissed about after it ended was "Mission to Mars." Horrible ending.

Triple A 06-24-2004 06:22 PM

Just because it's a movie, that doesn't give it permission to be completely illogical and retarded. I don't like shit that insults my intelligence. You obviously have a really low standard with movies.

Loose Cannon 06-24-2004 06:26 PM

I'm a wrestling fan, so maybe that's why I don't give a crap about logic. I guess my intelligence is insulted just about every week and I've learned to just accept it. And I do have really low standards with movie. Ever since I was a kid that's how I have been.

Boondock Saint 06-24-2004 07:44 PM

A lot of David Lynch movies are illogical but his way of film making has become rather accepted, to a certain degree. And I have accepted that, no matter how illogical some of the crap he pulls may be. If one movie can do it, so can another and if the director doesn't want to explain himself, like Lynch does so often, then fine.

Dunno, randomly chose Lynch cuz I watched Mulholland Drive again a few days ago.

America's Sweethearts.

YOUR Hero 06-24-2004 08:59 PM

Ammityville Horror, because I was scared as shit, think I was 12 or something.
I can't remember any others, I don't go to too many movies though. I'm real picky/cheap.

I have rented, and turned off a lot of movies though.

MrMeJW 06-24-2004 09:45 PM

Spider Man
Pirates of the Caribbean
Signs
Bad Boys II

I was dragged to Bad Boys II. I thought Spiderman was going to be good becasue of X-Men. Pirates of the Caribbean looked good but I hated it. Signs... I don't know what I was thinking. I hate M Night Shyamalan. I would of walked out of Anger Management but was trapped in the center of the theater.

I don't walk out.

I usually don't go to a movie if I know its gonna be shitty.

John la Rock 06-24-2004 11:38 PM

End of Days was another movie I walked out of

Bazooka 06-25-2004 12:26 AM

I walked out of Intolerable Cruelty at a perfect time. All the screens in the theatres went to commercials by accident... I was like whoa, I'm gonna use this to get into Kill Bill (which I couldnt get into being 17)

So I walked into the theatre while all of the cinema staff were busy trying to find out what the problem was, and while everyone was walking around. I got to Kill Bill, only to miss the first 15 minutes. It was the best decision I ever made at the cinema.

CosaNostra 06-25-2004 12:59 AM

Some years ago I actually walked out on a date at a movie because she had a suck attack and wanted to go see "To Die For" With Nicole Kidman.

That was so fucking awful, I actually walked out on a prospect of getting laid because I got roped into paying for that crap.

DegenerationY 06-25-2004 05:06 AM

I walked out on Paycheck. I didn't want to see it in the first place but my date did.

I payed for both of us, and I didn't even care - the movie was THAT bad

diothoir 06-25-2004 07:31 AM

Star Wars: Episode One

Only went because a mate wanted to go. Left him in there after 45 minutes.

He came out and told me it was a great movie.

I then got better friends.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-25-2004 07:53 AM

Parting shots. The part that said "A Film By Micheal Winner" should have tipped me off

The Mask 06-25-2004 10:21 AM

Never walked out, don't see the point really, but I nearly walked out of The day after tomorrow. That was some insulting shiiit.

I probably should've walked out of Ghost Ship and the Dawn of the dead remake too. horror movies are generally terrible.

PorkSoda 06-25-2004 12:06 PM

I was once watching Pirates of the Carribean and it sucked, so I stood up and yelled "THIS MOVIE SUCKS" and a guy told me to shut up, so I went over and kicked him in the gut and powerbombed him onto the floor, and security came and I Stone Cold Stunned them all and left the theatre, posing and walking like Ric Flair

BigDaddyCool 06-25-2004 12:36 PM

nope, never. Well come to think of it, once. I walked out of Me Myself and Ireine. Not any fault due to the movie. My brother got kicked out, so I felt wierd watching the movie while he waited for me. So I left and we went home.

He got kicked out because he wasn't old enough to see it by like a year. It was R, I think.

AareDub 06-25-2004 06:49 PM

S.W.A.T.

After me and a friend sat there for an hour and realized they hadn't even gotten to the main plot of the movie yet, we decided to leave. It was fucking terrible anyway.

Blue Demon 06-25-2004 07:14 PM

I walked out of 8 Legged freaks...it was terrible...and I even saw it for free

Jonster 06-25-2004 07:30 PM

Apart from to go to the toilet once, maybe twice.

Haha yeah I wanted to walk out of that, in fact I never wanted to go in the first place but my mate was trying to hook up with this girl and used to speak to her quite abit so she brought a friend and the four of us watched it. I really wanted to leave :'(

Oh and Black Hawk Down was shit and I went to the toilet and I came backand it had finished, thats not really walking out, just missing the ending.

VJW 06-26-2004 03:33 PM

I felt like walking out of Uptown Girls. I was forced to see that film and I thought it was so damn stupid.

Real Deal 06-28-2004 01:36 AM

If I wasn't with a certain group of friends I would have walked out of Mean Girls.
That was SHIT

yianni 06-28-2004 12:38 PM

I don't know why anyone would bother going to watch Mean Girls in the first place. That honestly looked like the shittest, boring movie EVER when it was advertised on TV

The Mask 06-28-2004 06:17 PM

WAIT

I actually walked out of Charlies Angel's 2.

I was absolutely steaming drunk and I kept passing out, and it ended up about 3/4 of the way through and I had absolutely no idea what the fuck was going on.

It was kind of cool, it made it seem like memento.

Then I made the mistake of seeing it sober :nono:

BlackRavyyn 06-28-2004 10:20 PM

I don't recall leaving a theatre cause a movie sucked because I normally can tell when it's going to suck or it's not worth the money spent.

Freddy got Fingered, Joe Dirt and Children of the Corn 3 - all got in free - but if I'd paid for those, I would've demanded my money back. They were utter shit. Black Hawk Down, I wanted to leave but would've been stuck outside for over an hour. Only movie I've paid for and left is I am Sam and that's because I couldn't take the camera work involved...too nauseating...

Hulk.

I walked out towards the end to go get food from the supermarket.
Took a 15 min walk, then waited for my group of friends until they came out of the movie.

That movie was the worst.
EVER.

I should've walked out of Gods and Generals. The most boring, long, ignorant movie I have ever seen.

oh and I got kicked out of Freddy vs. Jason last year, but that's it.

El Santo 07-12-2004 11:47 PM

Only one movie: "Galaxy Quest." And that's because my girlfriend couldn't understand any of the Trek-centric jokes. Personally, I enjoyed it when it came out on DVD.

We were close to walking out halfway through "Pitch Black" though. I don't know if anyone remembers now that the movie is a cult classic, but the first half of the movie was horrendous. The second half picked up the pace to make a halfway decent movie by the end, but all six of us were shifting uncomfortably in our seats at the bad acting and the worn-out cliches.

Downunder 07-13-2004 02:46 AM

The only movie I've left in the middle of was some shit with Charlie Sheen that was supposed to be a comedy, along the same vein as Flying High, can't for the life of me rember what it was called. Anyway it was #2 of a double feature so it didn't really matter.

I fell asleep during Mission Impossible 1 (later watched it on TV and realised falling asleep was the best thing to do anyway)

ColdwaVer 07-13-2004 10:48 PM

I don't really go to movies unless I'm fairly sure I'm gonna like it. The only two movies I've seen in theaters that I didn't like much were Swordfish and She's All That. Swordfish I got into for free, and heckled the hell out of it; She's All That was a case of a bunch of us wanting to make anuses of ourselves in a theater.

Same, usually because I'm with a friend or two who will for some reason like every shitty movie ever made.

RemyRed 07-16-2004 12:57 PM

Dawn Of The Dead, the crowd I watched it with was especially annoying, whatever Ving Rhames said resulted in a -whoooo [clapping]-. The guy coulda just said "Imma go take a shit" and still get the same reaction, plus I thought it was a horrible movie, left a few minutes after they killed a zombie baby. Thankfully it was a matinee.

tucsonspeed6 07-16-2004 08:01 PM

Never....I came close on Austin Powers 3, but I was sitting there like "Damn, I paid like 8 bucks for this shit. I'm gonna get my money's worth!" so I sat there all miserable. It was opening night and there were these chicks sitting next to me that I probably would have flirted with if they weren't having such a good time laughing at the craptastic jokes that were funny the first two times I saw them...oh yeah, and they stank too. I bet they came from the shithole gutters of East St. Louis....cause they don't know what bathing is there. They know plenty about crack though.

Oh, and I was miserable during Starwars Ep 2, not because the movie was bad...it was ok...it was just that the guy sitting next to me stank of freakin' nachos. Stinky nachos! and B.O.! Stinky ass shit! Get the hell outta my theater!

Anyways, I've never walked out of a movie. I always buy the popcorn/soda combo, and you get free refills on them. If I leave the movie, there goes my free refills.

I don't recall ever seeing any abyssmally bad movies in the first place though. I saw that one with Freddy Prince Jr, Head Over Heels or something. It was quite bad, but I was with these two girls I quite fancied at the time, so I stuck it out. God that movie was retarded, he like threw a knife and killed a fly with it, wtf.

But I was with a friend who hated it equally and we just kinda dubbed over their words with our own stuff.

Prichard or whatever strikes a serious pose: There go my nipples again..
Girl who is talking to him: My, your nipples look as if they have been battered with ice!

I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out. Some Trekkie guy behind us kept telling us to shut up.

Shaggy 07-19-2004 05:40 AM

I believe I posted earlier that I have never walked out of a movie and something hit me this weekend.

I actually have.

My mom dragged my little brother and I along to see Jerry Maguire when it came out. Well half way through the movie my little brother turned to my mom and kept on telling her that this sucked and he wanted to leave. He didnt like the movie so my mom just went ahead and grabbed me and we left. I really didnt leave under my own power since my mom dragged me out but still I missed out on the movie. I still havnt seen that movie all the way through.

blueskies 07-20-2004 06:46 AM

I've walked out on American Sweetheart when I had to go watch it with my cousins. They walked out too. I think there were another movie that I walked out on, but can't remember which.

I'd rather leave the theater than act obnoxious. Who knows... there could be some dumbass in the crowd who loves the shit dished to them. I'd hate to ruin their experience by making fun of their favorite movie.

And a note to those who go to a movie with the intent to laugh at it from the start: Why pay that much money just to be annoying? (This is directed more at teenage girls who desperately need to be the center of attention) Ok, if you're going to point out stupid stuff and be hilarious, at least try to be funny while doing it. Don't point at the screen and yell out about how Jim Carrey's face looks stupid. Or when a gag comes up where an unlikely situation is happening, don't inform us that the situation would make more sense if nothing funny happened. Seriously, I'm not afraid to follow you home. I have seen blood before, and I'm not the least bit squeemish around it.

I've never walked out of a movie before, a couple of friends did. They saw Not Another Teen Movie and there's a part where a male lead starts singing. The place was packed, but without even looking at one another, they literally bolted right out of their seat and slammed their hand into the arm rest. They did not make any eye contact to one another it was so spontaneous that they just got up, left and made a huge scene. Plus I remember the first time I saw Man on the Moon years back.......2 fat women got up and complained literally 2 minutes into the movie. One was like "I told you we shouldn't have seen this". Too bad. They were probably looking for a Mel Gibson movie.
