Me too

Even if i only get tickets for 1 shows i'm still giong for both days as I know from past experience that there's always some touts about

Rob 07-14-2004 02:38 PM

£60? Are they serious?

The CyNick 07-14-2004 02:48 PM

Thats going to be a tough trip. They'll be coming off one PPV in early Oct, then have the trip overseas for the TV tapings and house shows, and then for the RAW guys they have a PPV the Tues after they come back.

At least all the shows will have strong crowds, so they should get a decent payday out of it.

Still, tough run.

:y:

Cruiserweight 3:16 07-14-2004 05:29 PM

Does it really matter how much they cost??? I'll be getting my tickets for BOTH shows for free!! :)

Ricky 07-14-2004 05:33 PM

How's that then?

The Ravishing One 07-14-2004 05:36 PM

*listening*

Cruiserweight 3:16 07-14-2004 05:45 PM

It's because my wrestling teacher knows practically everyone in the business (well anyone major from like 10 years ago and beyond). The guy is respected big time from everyone and he can get tickets easily for free - he's even managed to allow me to wrestle before in a WWE ring whilst the crew are preparing for the event. I've met alot of the Smackdown wrestlers before, but I didn't go to the Raw show in May and I missed out on seeing HHH, Benoit and Stephanie McMahon (surprised to hear that she was there)

Jonster 07-17-2004 09:35 AM

I might be there. :shifty:

Depends on me grandma.

addy2hotty 07-17-2004 09:38 AM

Got my tickets, floor for both. Not too bothered about being right at ringside coz of the signs....

Going by myself though which is bad, but my mates couldn't afford it...*middle of the month syndrome*

Dave Youell 07-17-2004 11:46 AM

Just got this of a poseter on UKFF.com

Maximum Capacities:

Oct 7 Thu Sheffield, England (RAW) 12000
Oct 7 Thu Belfast, Northern Ireland (SMACKDOWN) 6000 SELLOUT
Oct 8 Fri London, England (RAW) 10500 SELLOUT
Oct 8 Fri Belfast, Northern Ireland (SMACKDOWN) 6000 SELLOUT
Oct 9 Sat Frankfurt, Germany (RAW) Festhalle 13000
Oct 9 Sat Florence, Italy (SMACKDOWN) The Palasport 7800
Oct 10 Sun Turin, Italy (SMACKDOWN) Mazda Palace 9000
Oct 11 Mon Nottingham, England (SMACKDOWN) 10000
Oct 11 Mon Manchester, England (RAW TV Taping) 18330
Oct 12 Tues Manchester, England (SMACKDOWN TV Taping) 18330

Potential maximum attendance for the UK shows = 81,660.

Bear in mind, when Summerslam 1992 came to England, it was a one off show, with no house show tour based around the event, and the previous UK tour having occured 4 months earlier. and Summerslam ended up doing a paid attendance of 78,927.

So for every show on this tour to sellout, including the tv tapings, the maximum number of people attending the 7 shows combined needs to exceed the huge Wembley Stadium crowd figure by nearly 3000.

these numbers are huge!

Ricky 07-17-2004 11:48 AM

Anyone know how to find out how many tickets are left? I wasn't really that bothered about goin as I assumed they would all sell out this morning and I would have to go on my own anyway as none of my mates like wrestling but I suppose I could try and find 20 quid for a cheap ticket if there's any left.

There's tons of tickets left, the arena floor hasn't even sold out yet.

Ricky 07-17-2004 11:51 AM

Well there's no way in hell I'll be able to get £60 for a good seat, hell I haven't even got £20 to spend really but with a bit of begging :shifty: I might be able to get it

Ricky 07-17-2004 11:55 AM

Also I see that because the Smackdown house show date has changed it means that it will be happening at the same time as Raw. A gutter for people who splashed out to go to the Smackdown house show.

There's loads of odd 1 or 2 seats together all over the place. Pick them up before the touts do.

I'm not surpised they haven't sold out that quick. If it was just Raw and Smackdown alone with no house shows it would, but people aint made out of money, when in the US they have to travel out of states between house dates and for this one they are doing 5 shows in the same country within 5 days of each other and another 2 in Ireland. Plus we have alot smaller land space and most fans will only go to 1 event.

I think the WWE tried to bite of more than i could chew with this one, In April when they do this again, they shouldn't do the house shows with it

tucsonspeed6 07-17-2004 12:37 PM

So I take it that Raw won't be live while in Manchester....unless you guys want to go to a show that starts at 2:00 am.

The show is from 7:30, they will most likely tape it and show it via tape delay at its normal slot on Monday night in America, and on Friday night on Sky Sports.

Ricky 07-17-2004 03:57 PM

Does Raw actually start at 7:30? I assumed they were gonna film Heat first and then Raw at 9pm like they usually do in America :?:

I'd imagine Heat will probably be first, maybe some dark matches, hopefully with some British guys. I would imagine Raw will start at 9pm, if it's going to be Live on Sky Sports (and I couldnt imagine Sky missing an oppotunity to) it'd have to be at 9pm to avoid trouble from the ICC

Good, the more the better.

So, so far confirmed for "The Great UK TPWW Raw and Smackdown Meet Up 2004" (i'll work on the name) is:
HardKore UK
King Jericho
Tornado
and imagine Dave Youell will be in aswell....

Few drinks before making our way to the M.E.N sound good...?

Cruiserweight 3:16 07-17-2004 06:32 PM

Hopefully I should be at either show (if not both) and I'll probably have a bit of a match in the ring way before the fans are allowed into the arena. Would so love to appear in a dark match instead though.

Cactus Sid 07-17-2004 06:36 PM

I'm definetly considering it, but you know....uni and everything, especially if I'm just starting then

King Jericho 07-17-2004 08:36 PM

Yeah i'm totally in, sure Dave and Ian will be as well

Like i was saying Hardkore UK earlier, doesn't it feel weird/awesome to be saying 'I'm going to RAW/Smackdown!'?

Cos like  this is going to be awesome.

[/Marking out] (for now).

I'd really like to, but the problem lies with which Uni I end up at.

If I do well in my exams and get to the course I wanna go on, I start back on the 11th of October, if I do badly then I start in September, so its a tough line, and by the time I know, I wont be able to buy tickets

:(

I wonder if they will use any UK workers in any dark matches

Doubtful... it'd be good if they did (considering how I'll get a bit of a chance in the ring beforehand anyway), but it's unlikely. Apparently the WWE aren't even interested in seeing UK wrestlers performing American pro-wrestling anyway but instead wants them to perform British Wrestling moves, so any UK workers that do attend either show probably won't impress!

Actually it's quite likely. They also tape Heat and Velocity so they might need job guys.

Well I suppose the idea can't be ruled out considering they'd probably just want the British guys to just bump their arses off... but the point I wanted to get across is that they'll never impress the WWE road agents enough by copying American moves.

Rob 07-18-2004 06:22 PM

American moves? Never knew they had origins.

I know for a fact that WWE have looked at two British guys with a view of signing them. I dunno if either will get a match though.

Cruiserweight 3:16 07-18-2004 07:31 PM

Well it's the idea that Americans perform certain moves e.g. dropkicks, which they don't want British wrestlers to use - they wanna see more basic groundwork performed by them instead. However when shows are booked in the UK, the promoters want the workers to use the moves used in the WWE to get a good reaction from the crowd, so wrestlers who do get an opportunity to show their talent can't necessarily use their moveset because it won't impress them as much. The WWE do look at British talent, but from what I've seen and know of at the moment, they don't seem to be that impressed.
