The CFL Hit of the Week...pfft, the year

All the Canucks on the boards, catch the highlights of the Ottawa game last night?

Did you see that sick hit Woodcock took reaching for the ball? Holy shit moment right there. And then while they were tending to him, he lost his lunch on the field.

Man, I need a clip of that hit again - it was amazing!!

MoRcHeEbA 07-17-2004 07:10 PM

Terry Ray

MoRcHeEbA 07-17-2004 07:11 PM

that's what you get when you convert a line backer to free safety though :D

Lara Emily 07-17-2004 09:50 PM

I was at the game and woah baby what a hit. Terrible game but a great hit.

MoRcHeEbA 07-17-2004 09:57 PM

it was good from my point of view

Adam Archuletta (SP?)

Even tho he's a Ram I still think he is the man

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 03:31 AM

Terry Ray who plays for winnipeg now has always played Lineback in the CFL but he lined this guy up so good the other night that the hit was worse then that one Lewis put on that guy on a monday night football game two or three years ago, it was crazy.

....

Speaking of the cfl, is there any team out there capable of beating a fully healthy alouettes team? The answer is fuck no.

They're gonna pillage and dominate like never before.

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 03:45 AM

the allouettes are boring, that's the only problem I have with them, it gets tiring to see the team do soooooooo good all year long only too lose in the playoffs.

...

They are building a dynasty babay! A few more championships and there ya have it. Right now it may get boring due to the fact no other team comes close talent wise.
This will be like two seasons ago, no playoff dissapointment.

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 03:50 AM

but they've made the playoffs like 10 straight years and have only one the cup once, that's soooo boring

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 03:52 AM

wait wait wait, I got it, you know who else was building a dynasty... the Buffalo Bills in the early 90's

ZING

Sorta like the atlanta braves eh?

ZING

I smell an inferiority complex here. Perhaps some jealousy? C'mon, what's your fave team? Clue me in.

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 03:56 AM

Bombers, I don't really care that we haven't won the cup in forever, but I like the team cause they atleast have up and down years and are always fun to watch, rather then going 9-0 then losing one game then win a few more and lose 3 more or so..

are you gonna be here in november posting on TPWW still, I wouldn't mind making a little wager on it if you would like :naughty:

Zen v.W.o. 07-18-2004 03:59 AM

...

So you prefer inconsistency to consistency. Interesting.

Well at least you didn't say argos.

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 04:00 AM

it's not really inconsistency when the last time the Bombers were in the east they punked montreal in about 4 games in one year :naughty:

then lost to the stamps in the final :nono:

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 04:05 AM

yeah were back in the west where we belong now

and as soon as we get rid of jones we'll be the best in the west

we'll figure out a bet at a later date though, but if it's the Bombers against the Als in the finals you better be ready

:D

Zen v.W.o. 07-18-2004 04:10 AM

...

Sounds like a plan to me. You're on. :y:

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-18-2004 04:26 AM

Well sure. But even then the Bombers (especially the offense) didn't even really show up until the 4th Quater. :p

MoRcHeEbA 07-18-2004 04:54 AM

yeah well Khari Jones must be hanging out with Drew Bledsoe during the Off-Season, Jones needed to be pulled about three games ago. I hope we trade him already.

Hey fuck you, buddy.

I don't get any sports here, unless it's Michigan-related. Got a clip of the hit anywhere?

Gonzo 07-20-2004 03:36 AM

I, too, would like to see this hit as I, too, only get the Michigan sports (and Braves games on TBS and whoever ESPN is showing).

MoRcHeEbA 07-21-2004 12:15 AM

http://www.tsn.ca/audio_video/

you might have to sign up to get a member name or something then go to the bottom for the Renegades/Bombers highlights. Then play them.

MoRcHeEbA 07-21-2004 12:16 AM

it doesn't look as good as it was cause of the modem speed though.

Als play spy game

Try to steal Bomber signals from stands

By KIRK PENTON, STAFF REPORTER

One of Dave Ritchie's favourite expressions is, "Loose lips sink ships." Well, loose lips -- and a lucky break -- have the Winnipeg Blue Bombers believing they've uncovered a case of CFL espionage.

As a Globe and Mail story speculated yesterday, it was, in fact, the Bombers who called the CFL with a concern that a member of the Montreal Alouettes organization had videotaped their coaches during last Friday's game in Ottawa.

The Bombers believe the Als were trying to learn their hand signals for defensive and offensive plays.

The CFL office didn't return a phone call to The Sun yesterday, but it is investigating.

"Concerns were raised by a team, and right now the commissioner's office is looking into it," CFL director of communications Alexis Redmond told the Globe.

"There is no formal or official rule (against videotaping). It's more ethical related than legal or illegal."

Apparently, word of Montreal's tactic wormed its way through the players' grapevine over the winter and ended up in the Bombers locker-room, so members of the coaching staff were told to keep their eyes open.

A source confirmed yesterday that defensive backs coach Less Browne, who was making his way from the press box to the sideline at the end of the game, saw a man in the Frank Clair Stadium stands with a video camera. Curious, Browne sat down across the aisle and watched the man -- whom Browne believed to be Alouettes equipment assistant Serge Brotherton -- focus the camera on the Bombers sideline.

When Brotherton noticed Browne, he put the camera down. That's when Browne, according to the Globe, said to Brotherton, "Tell (Montreal coach) Don Matthews we said hello."

In case you were wondering, the Alouettes visit Canad Inns Stadium on Aug. 26.

No wonder montreal always does so good.

Not haing on the CFL at all though, I actually like watching the games when I can...Set me up perfect for that comeback though

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-21-2004 05:24 AM

and LOL at video taping coaches...I don't see how that oculd work with all the variations. Unless they use a limited playbook or something. I would think just studying film and learning tendencies would work a lot better then trying to figure out hand singals

MoRcHeEbA 07-21-2004 05:39 AM

yeah, Don Matthews (montreals coach) has been in the CFL along time and unless he coaches your team you hate him basically. He is a nut job, two radio DJ's in Winnipeg used to call him at 6 am winnipeg time when he would be here and ask him how his wife was then he would swear at them on the radio, pretty funny stuff.
