The Mask 07-19-2004 03:36 PM

I get paid like £6 an hour and I do fuck all else bar going to the cinema and buying CDs really.

I'd go even more if I didn't waste so much money on beer

FakeLaser 07-19-2004 03:45 PM

There's rarely anything playing that I HAVE to run out and see in theaters. Usually I end up going if there isn't shit to do, which is a lot of the time but yeah, it's pretty expensive.

Mike the Metal Ed 07-19-2004 04:00 PM

£5.50 I think.

el fregadero 07-19-2004 04:15 PM

$6.50 last time I went.

Blue Demon 07-19-2004 04:23 PM

$8-$10.75

Halfiax, Canada

Xero 07-19-2004 04:39 PM

$6.50 any time before 6pm any day including weekends... After that it's like $12...

I only go to the one Lowes around here in Central Jersey... It's huge (I think 18-25 theaters) and is pretty great...

The Miz 07-19-2004 04:50 PM

$6, but the only time I ever go to the movies is at the dollar theatre on tuesdays cuz they charge 50 cents for a ticket. i live in Seattle Wa.

Ian 07-19-2004 05:10 PM

6 quid.

Marik Ishtar 07-19-2004 05:31 PM

Well, in my town there isnt any theaters, so I go to the nearest town, in another state (which is in Tennesee) and there, children get in for $1 and adults I think is $2. Its really cheap there, but I have went to another theater which is $5 or $6 a person.

Gonzo 07-19-2004 06:05 PM

$6.50 matinee for the old people who do that sort of thing, but $8.50. Upstate New York, near Albany.

Arashi Kage 07-19-2004 06:06 PM

Southern Ontario

$13 at large places like Silver City & Galaxy.

$9-$10 at Cineplex Odeon in one of the malls (price could have gone down, haven't been there since Galaxy opened)

$2-$4 at the last 6 screen independant theatre in the city (the oldest one too).

Requiem 07-19-2004 06:18 PM

Samurai_Star_Sailor 07-19-2004 06:25 PM

loopydate 07-19-2004 06:30 PM

mitch_h 07-19-2004 06:53 PM

Hamilton Canada

I think it's around $8.50 to $12.00

DaveWadding 07-19-2004 07:08 PM

anywhere from $5.50 to 8.50 herre in Phoenix.

#1-norm-fan 07-19-2004 08:04 PM

Brenden is the main theater. Before 6 it's $6. After 6, it's $8.75.

Galaxy 8 is the theater that gets all the movies once they are done showing them at Brenden. There it's $4.50 all day long but on Tuesdays, they have a "buy one ticket, get the second one free" deal.

So basically, I try to go see SOMETHING on Tuesday @ Galaxy 8 even if there's nothing really great playing simply because it's only $2.25 for a ticket.

AlphaBean 07-19-2004 09:03 PM

I think the Mall of America theaters attempt to remain on par with New York and Los Angeles. If it's not 10 dollars there, it will be soon.

Lara Emily 07-19-2004 09:05 PM

At my local Indie film Theatre: $5.50 with membership which I have

Cheaper Fanous Players theatres: $6.75

Bigger theatres (both Famous ans Cineplex): $9.95 every day and at all times of the day except Tuesday when it's $7.75 all day long.

Yeap. It also depends on the theather. I like stadium seating, so movies in that setting are typically more expensive to see.

In any case, I try to get a matinee ticket, which is like $6 in NYC.

DegenerationY 07-20-2004 09:06 PM

8.50 for a matinee.

$10 most places I go to

Shaggy 07-21-2004 01:59 AM

I live in Spring Texas, which is basically Houston Texas

The cheapest I have seen a movie ticket here is 3.30

At the theater I go to its::
4.50 (if you go to the first showing)
5.00 (if you go before 6:00)
7.50 (after 6)

I rarely go to the movies at night. I try to go to the first showing our one early in the morning so there is less people. Only time I go at night is if there is something big out and some people want to meet up.

BCWWF 07-21-2004 02:54 AM

They just went up to $8.00 at nights here, but cheaper on Tuesdays, and matinee's of course...

Twin Cities

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-21-2004 02:57 AM

I am not sure, I haven't paid for a ticket in so long (Got a lot of friends that work at the cinema) I think its anywhere from $9.00-9.75

Penner 07-21-2004 12:45 PM

It used to be like $12.99 but now its $7.99

There's bigger theatres that still have $12.99 though.

Markham, Ontario

MVP 07-21-2004 05:15 PM

$4.50 for matinees and weeknights, $6.50 for weekend nights.

All at the cheapest movie theatre in Biddeford, Maine.

YOUR Hero 07-22-2004 09:49 PM

13 bucks I think.

Too much for such little variety and quality.

Jonster 07-22-2004 10:13 PM

£4.10- £5.60 depending on quality of seat :-\

Ogen 07-22-2004 11:20 PM

Smitty 07-23-2004 02:16 AM

Haha, I haven't paid to see a movie in 2 years, I got the hook up. I think it's up to $9 now.

Seat quality?

WTF. Never heard of that concept for a movie theater.

First come first serve everywhere I've ever been.

Master Shake 07-23-2004 03:35 PM

All the early shows at the mainstream theater are $5.50, and after that, its like $7.50.

But a new little theater just opened up, and it's only $4.50 all the time, and free for college students, because they only play independant films and documentaries and stuff.

They opened this weekend with Napoleon Dynamite and Super Size Me

The Naitch 07-23-2004 05:20 PM

$12

Tuesdays are cheap days. Matinees are also cheaper.

jasonvoorhees 07-23-2004 09:30 PM

Our movie theater cost 1.50 for each person, and when the movie finish you can go see another movie, if they don't catch you.

Zelda 07-24-2004 10:38 AM

6.50$ to 9.50$ in Montreal.

xx Su Fi Guy xx 07-24-2004 11:26 AM

How much does an arm and a leg go for these days...cause that about sums up movie ticket prices....that and gas prices :)

tucsonspeed6 07-24-2004 02:26 PM

$7.50 for a good theater (that's 7.00 for students)... Little theaters can cost as little as a buck.

Ironically, it's the hollywood actors who tell us to vote liberal because conservatives steal money from the poor using cheap trickery (ahem, Catwoman) and they all drive Humvees and live lavish lives in beautiful communities while the working man toils away 40 hours a week to make ends meet.

Damn, I feel like pirating something.

Ska-Wars 07-25-2004 08:30 AM

£6-£10 I think. I hardly ever go to the cinema.

Ace Blizz 07-28-2004 01:21 AM

Well they got a theater here where its 2 dollars but thats on movies that are just released on DVD or the ones not in theaters but not on DVD yet. Then theres this theater which is 4.25 w/ student ID all the time, 4.25 during the day and 6.00 at night. Everywhere else here are 5 during the day and 7 at night. Its pretty kick ass but they get you on the concessions.

slextremely 07-28-2004 01:42 AM

6.75 here in Indiana

Triple A 07-29-2004 03:17 AM

MAN I JUST FOUND SOMETHING OUT REALLY HOT. I went to some theater last night and the guy is like, "are you students?" I was like yeah what. And he goes, "cause you get a student discount". So I showed him my ID and it was only $6. I think most theaters have that too. Some are only $5.

Vega 07-29-2004 03:43 AM

6.50-7.50 or so.

Just got a new big digital and shit movie theatet here too.
