Week 17 WOOOO (subtitle: The Patriots are gonna win the Super Bowl this year)

31-0 with 10 minutes left over Buffalo

yikes

Nobody will be able to beat them at New England in the playoffs

also I hope Jamal Lewis gets 0 yards rushing tomorrow and the Steelers better ****ing win

Supreme Olajuwon 12-27-2003 05:14 PM

Optik 12-27-2003 05:39 PM

Impressive win, but I dont think they will win the Superbowl this year.

Yashamaga 12-27-2003 05:54 PM

pritty hot sig

Yeah the Ravens better lose tonight. Out of everyone in the league, I think they're the only ones that can really knock the Pats out of the playoffs.

btw, the score today was identical to the first game of the season, just in our favor now

Crimson 12-27-2003 10:27 PM

So either the Vikings or Packers gotta lose in order for Seattle to get in?
I don't see the Vikings losing to the Cardinals. And the Packers , I guess they have it tougher with Denver, but they don't really have anything to play for except for a 5 or 6 seed. I think the Bengals have more of a chance of getting in.

The Miz 12-27-2003 10:30 PM

if minnesota and green bay both win, but dallas loses to new orleans (i think that's who they're playing), seahwks are in. if min, gb, and dal all win, then it gets complicated. :(

Not quite, if Min, GB, and Dal all win the Seahawks are out. That situation puts Min as the division winner, and a tie between GB and Sea. GB beat Sea in the reg season, there's the tie breaker.

The sitch where it gets complicated is if GB and Min win then Dallas loses. That makes a 3 way tie between GB, Sea, and Dallas. If the Seahawks strength of victory is higher than the Cowboys then they can make the playoffs. New England and Philly winning today increased the Seahawks strenght of victory. Certain games tomorrow, including the Pitt/Bal game, can further increase that.

Long story short, if you are a Sea fan you need to cheer for the Saints in the early game and the Broncos in the late game. If GB loses then the Dallas game has no effect, but I think GB will put up a pretty big fight at home in December against the Broncs.

After saying all that, all I have left to say is....

GO PACKERS!!

RoXer 12-28-2003 01:46 AM

I smell an upset. Cardinals>Vikings by 10.

AareDub 12-28-2003 01:47 AM

I hope you're right :)

#1-norm-fan 12-28-2003 02:25 AM

lol. It felt good to root against San Fran again. :D

And I wouldn't be suprised if Arizona beat Minnesota but this week 17 is gonna be pretty unpredictable. All these teams with nothing to play for, you don't know how they will handle it.

I do think Green Bay will win tomorrow though and Detroit may just beat St. Louis. The playoffs should look like this...

NFC Wild Card:
Seattle, Green Bay, or Minnesota @ Carolina
Dallas @ Minnesota or Green Bay

NFC Byes:
Philadelphia
St. Louis

AFC Wild Card:
Denver @ Indianapolis
Tennessee @ Baltimore or Cincinnati

AFC Byes:
New England (1)
Kansas City (2)

My pick is St. Louis over Philadelphia in the NFC Championship, Indianapolis over New England in the AFC Championship, Indy over St. Louis in the Super Bowl.

road doggy dogg 12-28-2003 02:34 AM

Yeah I think it would be utterly hilarious if Arizona just randomly won tomorrow.

If that happens though, and GB wins, is there a chance of Minnesota taking a wildcard spot?

#1-norm-fan 12-28-2003 02:38 AM

Nope. If Minnesota loses, they fall to 9-7. Seattle is 10-6 and therefore would get the final wild card spot. With Dallas having the other of course.

MoRcHeEbA 12-28-2003 02:51 AM

You just better hope he doesn't play KC in the 2nd round.

MoRcHeEbA 12-28-2003 05:26 AM

I hope KC gets far, I bet at the beginning of the year that it was gonna be KC and Seattle :(c'mon people

AareDub 12-28-2003 12:12 PM

Kansas City getting a couple of losses at the end of the season may help them out a little. I think they needed a reality check. Now that they realize they aren't so unstoppable they might be able to win a game. However, I don't see them as a Super Bowl contender. My pick several weeks ago was Rams/Pats part 2, it looks like I at least called the two number one seeds. I bet the precentage of both 1 seeds going to the Super Bowl is pretty low though.

Yashamaga 12-28-2003 01:06 PM

Crimson 12-28-2003 02:19 PM

I hope my Cowboys play the Vikes in the 1st round. Better them than playing at Greenbay. Or I wouldnt mind playing the Panthers again, but it'd be tough to beat them twice.

AareDub 12-28-2003 02:34 PM

Damn the Cowboys look lazy or something today. LOL @ Obogu forgetting to wear his helmet onto the field.

Crimson 12-28-2003 04:45 PM

WOW, the Rams are losing 30-20. I always had the Eagles in the superbowl anyway before yesterday. And the Colts are losing too, and so are the stupid Bengals. Cowboys are doing the 'Hawks a favor so far...doesn't look good for the Packers.

Optik 12-28-2003 04:58 PM

Dolphins started coming back this season. :( But I must say I loved the ending kick return where Hendricks just WRECKED the returner.

AareDub 12-28-2003 05:10 PM

Stupid Cowboys.

The Outlaw 12-28-2003 05:13 PM

LOL @ Cowboys

WTF was Brooks thinking going out of bounds?

Colts just won, so I'm happy.

Now Green Bay has to win and it will be a complete football weekend. :y:

BTW, Shaun Alexander is the man.

Yashamaga 12-28-2003 05:13 PM

Colts come back to win 20-17

hmmmm...20 to 17...

that sounds like a familiar score

Crimson 12-28-2003 05:19 PM

So the Bengals are done.

It'll be Denver @ Indy, and Tennessee @ Baltimore regardless of the later games.

The Seahawks are in as the #5 , and Dallas is the 6 seed. Now either the Vikings or Packers will be in, the Vikings have the tiebreaker.

AareDub 12-28-2003 05:21 PM

Damn, now for the Packers to make it the Cardinals have to beat the Vikings. Well if by some miracle that happens it'll be GB vs Sea in the first round. Wouldn't that be nice :)

I think Dallas is still pretty much a lock for the 5th seed.

Quincy Carter is just not that great. The defense played well though. I really want Mark Brunell as the QB next year. Or maybe they can trade for Carson Palmer!!!

Anyhoo, How 'bout them Bengals? That was sad. And for the third time, for everyone who said I was so wrong (I'm looking your way Cheeba)... BALTIMORE IS IN, CINCY IS OUT!

Seattle already placed 5th now. Dallas is 6th...

Seattle (10-6) made the playoffs in a complicated BCS-like "strength of victory" tiebreaker when Dallas lost in New Orleans 13-7.

It made the Seahawks, who beat San Francisco 24-17 on Saturday, the fifth-seed in the NFC, pushing the Cowboys to sixth.

Y2Ant 12-29-2003 12:15 AM

First they jobbed the Onside kick

then 30 yards for Defensive Holding, bollocks to that

then the Arizona QB got like his 387429892798th sack, and again, and it was 4th and 25 :|

I just ****ing knew that would happen. :-\
