Who should be the new Bond?

These are all of the possible candidates.

Savio 08-03-2004 09:24 PM

Dave chappelle.

AareDub 08-03-2004 09:24 PM

Jackman.

el fregadero 08-03-2004 09:30 PM

Jude Law is the only one of them that is a decent actor.

MoRcHeEbA 08-03-2004 09:48 PM

:wtf: I heard yesterday that Orlando Bloom is first in line for that job.

Savio 08-03-2004 09:49 PM

Mostly Jude looks gay, mostly [/cartman]

el fregadero 08-03-2004 09:51 PM

Then the Bond character could go in a new direction.

KleptoKlown 08-03-2004 10:42 PM

jackman as bond would be horrible

RoXer 08-03-2004 11:12 PM

I never knew Pierce Brosman was quitting. Or is this a hypothetical question?

Bad Company 08-03-2004 11:15 PM

Brosnan had better not quit. He hasn't been too bad.
This coming from a Bond fanatic as well.

Arashi Kage 08-03-2004 11:36 PM

Will Bond ever end???

I like the 007 films, however, I just find that the more actors that play the character, take away from it a little each time.

It's just funny, when Brosnan was first made Bond, I did not like him, now, I'm like, "it's Brosnan or it's over". It might be the age, due to the age of the series, I find that the Bond character works better as more of a middle aged man rather than a young guy.

Roger Moore for the next Bond flick? :p

ColdwaVer 08-04-2004 12:31 AM

None of the above. Bring back Sean Connery.

I heard that if they decide to do the next bond movie with the premise of Bond in his early 20's, then they'd pick Bloom most likely.

Smitty 08-04-2004 01:15 AM

Clive Owen, he just reminds me of a cool Bond-like Englishman

MVP 08-04-2004 01:31 AM

Ewan McGregor is a much better candidate for Bond than Hugh Jackman.

Edge 08-04-2004 01:36 AM

Roger Moore??

Boondock Saint 08-04-2004 01:51 AM

Clive Owen.

Yeah, Brosnan was interviewed by EW and he said he's done. Rumors are also abound that its a ruse during contract negotiations, but I dunno. I think Pierce is a very underrated actor who can do more than just Bond, although he is the second best behind Connery.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-04-2004 02:16 AM

Colin Farrell

VJW 08-04-2004 03:25 AM

Hugh Jackman gets my vote since I don't much about any of the other choices. Nobody can top Sean Connery in my opinion. From Russia Of Love is my favorite Bond film. I never really understood why Goldfinger is so damn popular. The only part that I really enjoyed was the car chase. Brosnan has been doing a good job even though Die Another Day was too much like Diamonds Are Forever.

Kapoutman 08-04-2004 03:31 AM

I'd go for McGregor.

Tony Montana 08-04-2004 08:28 AM

Ewan McGregor.

Mr. Nerfect 08-04-2004 09:02 AM

I heard that Eric Bana has been confirmed as the new one. Any confirmation on that "confirmation"?

The Mackem 08-04-2004 10:59 AM

Eric Bana fucking rocks.

Tony Montana 08-04-2004 11:16 AM

The Mackem would be a good James Bond.

Shizzo 08-04-2004 11:26 AM

i think clint eastwood would be a good james bond back in his day's but that aint ever gonna happen

Sephiroth 08-04-2004 11:30 AM

Hugh Jackman, but i like Ewan McGregor too.

Team Sheep 08-04-2004 01:35 PM

Ioan Gruffudd. :D :D

Adder 08-04-2004 01:42 PM

They announced Orlando Bloom did they not? I'm sure they made it official only yesterday.

VJW 08-04-2004 02:21 PM

Where did you hear that from? They're always rumors about the next Bond actor.

I-Hate-You 08-04-2004 02:35 PM

Interesting fact that I found out today, James Bond is the second longest running movie series of all time, trailing behind, Godzilla.

Dave Youell 08-04-2004 06:04 PM

Owen, McGregor or Firth should be the only candidates, But to be honest I think out of those 3 Owen would be best pick as he's got the best look IMO.

Plus the other 2 don't need to do Bond to futher their image or profile as they are both over as fuck in hollywood.

Buzzkill 08-04-2004 06:08 PM

Hugh Grant is the biggest pussy of all time.

The Destroyer 08-04-2004 06:20 PM

Last I heard Brosnan was still possibly doing one more, but the producers are still hunting for a replacement.

The Mask 08-04-2004 06:24 PM

Colin Firth would be a terrible bond.

Eternalone79 08-04-2004 06:39 PM

How much you wanna bet the Rock gets offered at least once...

He apparently denied it just yesterday or something. Not sure.

John la Rock 08-04-2004 08:29 PM

Jude Law would be good

Joeleosis 08-05-2004 04:08 AM

They should just have Connery play Bond in his old age and end it all...

You fool, bond will never end, It's Police Academy.

Seriously they are making another Police Academy

tucsonspeed6 08-05-2004 03:20 PM

Rowan Atkinson... :shifty:

VJW 08-05-2004 05:20 PM

Rowan wouldn't be too bad as Q in my opinion.

You've got a point there... but I still prefer the Monty Python guy they've got now. (Seriously, I know his name is like John Cleese, but I didn't want to embarass myself by misspelling it or getting it completely wrong. If his name was really Ralph Gleason I'd suddenly remember and feel like a stupid noob for saying John Cleese, so I said "the Monty Python guy" instead. Please make a note of it.)

John Cleese....:y:

Downunder 08-06-2004 08:35 PM

Eric Bana.

AlphaBean 08-07-2004 06:37 AM

One of the things about Bond is that he's handsome.

Most of those guys aren't.

And Jude Law I think is far too pretty to be Bond. And Orlando Bloom looks 16.

From what I've seen, Firth could pull it off in a classical Bond type way, and Bana would make Bond his own, and it would definitely put him over as a star.

I mean, if people love him despite The Hulk and Troy, then imagine what he would do in a generally flawless action film, a la the Bond series?

Downunder 08-07-2004 08:22 PM

Eric Bana did a movie called Chopper a few years ago, he was fucking brilliant as Chopper Read. If he can pull that off he can do anything.

yianni 08-08-2004 10:33 AM

What Downunder said. He did a fantastic job as Chopper. Eric Bana is the man (Poida :D)

Buzzkill 08-08-2004 04:44 PM

I hope Tarantino directs the next bond movie.

Downunder 08-08-2004 10:37 PM

POIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Downunder 08-08-2004 10:38 PM

BTW Hugh Jackman as much as I like the guy, would suck as James Bond

Lara Emily 08-08-2004 11:07 PM

Doe the sake of legacy, the actor who plays Bond should not be from anywhere but the UK.

Gertner 08-09-2004 06:35 PM

Christian Bale.

LaoOu 08-10-2004 10:58 AM

hmm.. wadya guys reckon... adam sandler or jim carrey... call me 'Joke' Bond...
nah just kiddin... I'm with bana

I didn't know who half of those guys were, and the other half would be horrible

Kid Robb 08-13-2004 07:03 AM

Jackman's a really good actor but Bond just isn't him.

It's not really Eric Bana either though, but he'd be better than anyone else on that list.

Roger Moore is still the man though when it comes to being Bond.

Imagi-Nation 08-13-2004 08:51 AM

I'd say Hugh Jackman is the man for the job, but I saw on the news a few days ago that Eric Bana is currently top of the list for the part.
So take from that what you may.

Blue Demon 08-13-2004 11:09 AM

I think Hugh Jackman
