I'm saving the Hawks for deeper in the season, I hope St. Louis doesn't f up and knock me out early.

I'm in. The first week is a tough one, there look to be a lot of close matchups, but who knows how well some of these teams are gonna do.

I feel like I'm wasting St. Louis, I want to use Cincinatti but I'm not sure how good the Jets are gonna be.

the Chargers, I assume they are pretty bad this year considering they lost Boston and Rivers isn't signing, but I'm not an expert on them, so don't take my whole word.

All my money (yea, all $0 of it) is on Buffalo in the first week. They aren't exactly a team I'd want to bet on late into the season and they've got a home game against Jacksonville to kick things off. Of course, all my reasoning could change before the first week starts :lol: I don't like having this much time to think about my decision.

i picked st.louis at home vs arizona. seems like a safe bet.

I'm in on both. Don't know how I'm gonna do my picks though. I don't wanna just do the same picks in both leagues because if I lose in one, then I'm out in both.

Anyways, I'm debating between 3 sure bets I've got for week one.

Atlanta over San Francisco
Houston over San Diego
Chicago over Detroit

Though it's the only time that you have your choice of all the teams, week one is REALLY tough on this thing. No telling what's gonna happen. I had Falcons over 49ers but even then, I started going over in my head the ways San Francisco could actually win and it scarred me away from it.

I'm thinking St. Louis over Arizona would be the safe choice for this week but then I think back to how everyone thought that about Miami over Houston week 1 last season.

Well Arizona doesn't have its two best players plus the game is in St Louis so I dont think there will be any chance of an upset

Baltimore over Cleveland seems pretty safe as well

Yeah, I ended up going with St. Louis. I just wanna get past week 1 and then hopefully get enough of a feel of how teams are gonna play to start getting them right.

I chose Tenesee over Miami, that one was a no brainer. In the other leagues I'm in I also chose Atlanta over San Fran, as well as Washington over Tampa Bay. I'm very uncertain about Atlanta, but I'm pretty confident with Washington.

I think Philly would've been a prime choice this week as well.

Yeah Tenn was a good pick but I chose to try to squeek out Houston over SD this week. Get as many shitty teams out of the way as early in the season as possible is my thoughts.

Yea, getting a win with a team like Houston or SD would be great in the first week.

lol. WTF again. I thought I picked St. Louis all this time. I forgot that late last night I got online to switch my pick to the Jets. I regret that now as I would much rather have the Jets for a lock later down the road than St. Louis.

I am deciding whether to take the risk and have Cincinnatti going over Miami, or take the sure bet and have Green Bay destroying the Bears.

I took the sure bet.

I want to take Arizona over New England BADLY just so if they do win, I can flaunt it.

I just can't do it though. I've narrowed it down to Dallas over Cleveland, Oakland over Buffalo or New Orleans over San Francisco.

That will be the best game of the season.

Look at his numbers compared to Moss.

He's not bad by any means, but he isn't the same player that Moss is.

SportsCenter was trying to compare the two last night and they were strugling. They did the "Whose Better" thing...Moss won more dangerous and more intimidating while TO won stronger and better celebrations.

Then they went on to show career stats on Monday nights...TO had played 16 times on Monday Night and Moss 8, yet Moss only had one less TD catch, about a hundred yards less total recieving, and so on and so fourth.

So they are both great recievers, but they are not comparable beyond that. Totally different games, totally different history.

Also, my use of the rant smiley was supposed to imply that I was being for the most part sarcastic.

I agree with you, I was being more sarcastic than anything up there. Moss, Harrison, Holt, and Owens are really all in a class of their own, but that doesn't mean they are all comparable really.

I lost in the Yahoo Public group thingy I'm in because I picked Denver over Jacksonville. Still alive in both TPWW leagues though.

I lost this week because I picked... no one. Meh. I was in a big car accident. If I hadn't forgotten, I would have dragged my mangled body from bed and put something in. I'm a little upset. I would have gone with New Orleans.

In Week 2, Dallas rebounded by pulling off an upset on the road against a division rival.

Every team that plays New England this year will play harder for that one game than any other. I'd rather pick NE against a team like AZ that couldn't beat them no matter how hard they try. I'm guessing there are quite a few teams on NE's schedule that could pull a surprize upset if they play their best game of the season. NE is hardly a sure thing all season ;)

Yeha but there were a couple other almost "givens" this week so theres no reason to use up New England when there are plenty of other good picks.

The Vikings/Eagles game was like Prefontaines race in the Munich Olympics. The game was played on a shitty tempo that went against the Vikings from the start. It was a defensive game and we had a shitty defense.

the way this league is going it'll be all over by week 5.

I think I am gonna pick Atlanta this week, at home against the shitty Cardinals. I dunno though, Packers vs. Bears is giving me doubts :mad:

They upset the Vikings last year, in a game that was probably more important than the Cardinals game. That DB pulled the ball out of Randy's hands in the endzone for the interception. The Bears still aren't good.

Tillman went from nobody to high-80s rating on Madden because he pulled the ball out of Moss' hands. Was it in the end zone?

I didn't see the play, was graduating college... cause if Moss had the catch, and then got stripped, that's technically a TD. Unless his feet weren't down. :dunno:

I thought he was in the end zone and they both caught it at the same time, but the DB pulled away with it. I may be mistaken though, as I try to put games like that behind me.

My strategy early on was to pick against arizona every week until they ran up against a team that I thought might lose to them.
