Your sporting moment of the year
Just say what has been,in your opinion or for you personally, the best moment(s) of 2003 in terms of sport.
For me it would be both England winning the rugby world cup and Leicester getting back to the Premiership and not being in the relegation zone for the start of the second half of the season. |
When the Spurs won the championship.
David. :wavesad: |

for me, probably the canucks beating st louis in game 7 of last years play offs after trailing 3-1. that and bertuzzi laying out all mcInnis |
The Yankees not winning the World Series and this past weekend's football craziness are the two that stand out for me.
|
Jonny Wilkinson drop-kicking the English to victory against Austrailia, bringing new meaning to the term:
'AVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
The Wild with two 3 games to 1 series comebacks in the NHL Playoffs last year
|
Arsenal losing 3-1 at home to the Dirties (Leeds) crowing Manchester United Champions of England for the 8th time in 11 years.
****ing sweet. :D |
Ducks clean-sweeping the Wings
Also, the Vikings molesting the Chiefs :'( |

Watching Cristiano Ronaldo take the piss against bolton at the beginning of the season was great  |
The All Blacks putting 50 points on the Wallabies in Sydney.
Unfortunately this wasn't at the World Cup. :( |
4-1-SEA49 (1:10) J.Garcia pass incomplete to T.Streets.
4-25-MIN 28 (:04) J.McCown pass to N.Poole for 28 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Play Challenged by Review Assistant and Upheld. |

The one I had in my sig was mad funny, Moss 20yd TD against KC was reversed, so he threw a 19yd pass to Moss, and Smith ran the other yard straight away  |
haha, what about the 28 yd td pass culpepper threw to moss
or was that the other team :?: |
For me it would have to be the Yankees not winning the World Series :)

For me, it would have to be when Aaron Boone hit the game-winning homerun off of Tim Wakefield in the ALCS to send the Yankees to the World Series :y:
|
|
The Aaron Boone home run was really shitty in a way, but it was probably the most important single play in a sport this year, and to be watching it live was pretty cool.
|
I think the best moment of the year was the Colts' Monday Night Miracle in Tampa.
My favorite moment PERSONALLY was Dallas' Monday Night Miracle in New York.  |
Nate Poole's catch is mine, BTW.
|
Watching the Ducks in the Playoffs this year probably.
Which also lead to my most heartbreaking moment in seeing Paul go to the Avas...:( |

Clemons getting his 4000th strikeout and 300th win in the same game.

Lelie saving Denver's ass against the Browns in the closing seconds

Lelie making a catch
Anywho, I dunno what mine would be... Lions signing Rogers, watching the Ducks/Stars series in last year's play-offs, or hell even the Cardinals/Vikings game there |
Febuary at Upton Park - England 1 Australia 3
RWC Semi Final, beating the oh so great All Blacks when no one expected us to get anywhere near them, let alone beat them and get into the final. |

|
Canucks beating the Blues, yeah.
But then... :'( |
The biggest moment this year was by far Wilkinson's kick (as much as I hate to say it :()
Others that I'll remember are: - Steve Waugh's century to save his career - Matty Hayden's world record Innings against Zimbabwe . (Pity it won't be remembered that much because of the opposition). - Warne getting caught doin drugs - Collingwood getting flogged in the AFL GF |

Shane Williams tearing through England's "world class" defence in the rugby world cup quarter finals, and seeing probably the best try I've ever seen. If only we had kept our disciplin and not conceeded so many penalties, we would have gone through to the semi's, and england would have gone home empty handedly. We clearly outplayed them, we beat them on try count 3-1!! And at the end of the day, considering wales' poor form coming into that match, loosing by an 11 point margin to the world champs aint too bad now is it?

Watching the Ducks make it to the Stanley Cup finals when every one figured they'd get swept by the Wings in round 1. If only they could have won Game 7. ****ing Devils.
|
Dolphins having a 10-6 season and still not making the playoffs. :|

Actually, us buying Tim Howard.
Goodbye Fabien "crap dive and wave your arms any which way but the balls way" Barthez, you worthless POS. I did feel guilty when I saw the picutres of him looking sad though. But it's his own fault for sucking ASOJFOJSAD. |
Where is Barthez now?
Have they sold him yet? |

nvm :( |
Scotland beating Holland 1-0 was one of the best days of my life. I prefer to forget what happened 4 days after it :(
Also, Randy Couture beating both Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz this year in the UFC was a script that couldn't be written. Loved Joe Calzaghe's performances this year. The decision on the De La Hoya vs. Mosley fight was the low point for me by a long way. |
St. Louis and Green Bay getting knocked out of the playoffs in two awesome games
Also, the Colts owning the Broncos, and beating the Chiefs  |
"David Seaman is a keen angler, he says he relates to all his fish.
Struggling on the line, and flapping around helplessly, I guess he's right." |
hey Hardkore suck my balls k thanks
|
River City Relay
Ironically enough the next play was the worse shi</>t of the year.. F'n Carney... :nono: |
You mean this? :(
|
Mike Weir winning the Masters
|
[QUOTE=Rob] Loved Joe Calzaghe's performances this year.
QUOTE] I met Joe Calzaghe in Sainsburys in Cwmbran about 3 years ago. He was signing autograghs and I got a picture with him, and I was holding the belt  It's pretty heavy, and it's got fur on the inside. He was pretty shy, but that was back when no one knew about him, and if you mentioned his name people would be like, Joe who...? He's massive now though of course, a good old Gwent boy! Every american boxer knows about him, and he seems to be more arrogant now, which all boxers are like, so that's good. :y: |
Patriots goalline stand againest the Colts
or Derek Lowe closing out the series againest the A's......coming back from down 0-2 |
**** YOU STIMA
**** YOU |
Best moment of the year was definetly Scotland beating Holland, a brilliant game, a fantastic performance, just amazing.
Not quite the best, but Liverpool winning the League Cup. Most people sneer at it, but if you just look at how gutted the Man U players were afterwards, it made it all worthwhile, its also the last time Liverpool played, what I would deem our best 11 (before we signed Kewell, who'd come in for Smicer). Truly great day. |
