Apparently the driving force of the movie is the satire of America policing the world, and making fun of stupid celebrities (ala dixie chicks) who try to make political statements.

85% of the time a good thing. You have to be in the right mood however or else you fall into that 15% area.

I started laughing at the puppet thing when I first saw the preview. The political nonsense should be pretty damn funny too. Probably won't see it right when it comes out, as that weekend is Homecoming this year, so maybe the week after that.

Honestly this is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a LONG time. I don't think I've ever laughed that loudly in a theatre.

This movie is so fucking funny, i was in tears no kidding, the songs are probably the best part of the movie. And the puppet sex is awesome...

That scene where the main character pukes his guts out was the funniest thing ive seen in a long time... also the Dicks, Pussys, and Assholes speech was classic.

I didn't really enjoy it that much. It was ok, but a lot of times I was kind of disgusted at the theatre for laughing at the things they did. It felt like back in pre-school when people would laugh just because somebody said doodie or booger. The theatre was in tears everytime they said balls or pussy. Some of it was funny, but some of it was too low brow for my taste I guess.

Having said that, I thought the overacting was just brilliant. Overdoing all of the action movie cliches and such had me laughing pretty hard. Not to mention the panthers, that was great.

The line that comes to mind right away is when the one guy said "I'm gonna rip out your balls and shove 'em up your ass, so next time you shit, you'll shit all over your balls."

Or something like that anyway. The people around me were all just laughing so hard and I was just like :| It's not even that I don't enjoy that kind of comedy, I laughed pretty hard at the speech in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back that had something to do with eating shit and/or shitting shit. I dunno. This movie just felt like a lame attempt at those types of lines.

It was mostly funny (to me anyways) just because of the fact that it got to the point that Trey and Matt just got to the point in that scene where it was just such a blatant attempt to say stuff like that (and its not like they were trying to hide it, thats what was funny about it)

I loved this movie. Especially the way they had Matt Damon as some retard LOL :lol:. And those songs were funny as hell. My favorite one was about when that guy was singing about how much Pearl Harbor Sucked or something along those lines. Pure genious. I am going to buy this when it comes out on DVD.

As a South Park fan, I walked in the theater not knowing what to expect in terms of humor. 80% of it turned out to be in making fun of action films, while the other 20% was in true South Park fashion (i.e. the speech that the bum made, the vomiting scene, making fun of celebrities, their overall opinion of war, and of course, the songs). In the end, I thought it was pretty good, but I may have to see it again in order to really enjoy it. Since it was different from South Park, I was a little critical at first. I liked the song that Trey did (Freedom ain't Free), which had the line "If you don't throw in your $1.50 a week, who will?"

South Park.. I like.. South Park movie.. I like it as well.. Baseketball, loved it.. So when I went to watch Team America.. I was expecting a really funny movie.. something I could laugh through from the beginning to the end.. Sadly.. it wasn't even funny at all.. All the jokes they had were retarded.. the songs were retarded too.. the only part that I really laughed at.. was the end of the movie when he had the speech about dicks, pussies & assholes. Other than that.. I was disappointed coming out of the theatre.

Just saw it. Loved it. Hilarious. I don't watch South Park...but I really enjoyed the South Park movie. Hated BASEketball. But this was great albeit not as good as the South Park movie

Correct. David Zucker wrote it, one half of the team who did Airplane and the Naked Gun movies. Which I like a lot, but he just didn't bring the funny with BASEketball. But from what I recall, Stone and Parker had some input on the comedy. But a lot of people consider it one of "their" films anyway.

I also hated Cannibal! The Musical.

My third favorite film of the year hands down! So incredibly funny. I was laughing almost the entire 90 minutes. Genius!

Yeah it's really funny. Some dull parts where there is no comedy at all, kind of weird. It wasn't as smart as South Park: BLU, but still pretty good.

Even if you're not a fan of south park, i'd see it. It's just the best way to take the piss out of everything, including OTT films like The Day After Tomorrow, and shit like that. wonderfully overacted :love:

It's weird I found the movie to be pretty hillarious while watching it but then slightly dissapointing when I thought back on it after it was over. Still quite funny though.
