End of The Simpsons
SIMPSONS creator Matt Groening has revealed he wants the hit show to end.
Matt, 50, is finding it increasingly tough to think up new ideas for the cartoon family. He told The Sun: “The Simpsons’ success has been unbelievable. But the show gets harder and harder every year because we are trying to keep surprising the audience — and trying to surprise ourselves.” Actors who do voices for Bart and co signed a four-year deal in May, doubling their salary to £147,000 an episode. That takes them up to series 19, in 2008. Animator Matt hopes to do one more after that, to rival America's longest-running show Gunsmoke, a Western that ran for 20 series. He said: “I’d love to get to 365 episodes, so there’s one for every day of the year with no repeats.” The show is about to start its 16th series in the US, while series 12 is due in the UK early next month. But in the final five years lesser characters like Bart’s pal Milhouse will have stronger roles. Matt said: “I expect we’ll do more and more stories about the other citizens of Springfield.” http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2...460533,00.html |

20 years...damn. that would be fuckin great though.
|
Wow, I was under the impression that this was going to be the last season. It's a shame I was wrong. Last season was horrible.
|
Atleast they're going for the record... I hope they tie the record or do ONE MORE after 20 to beat Gunsmoke... The Simpsons ending sucks, but it's gotta end sometime... Hopefully they'll do a movie eventually...
|
Good, it's a shadow of what it once was, and to try and stretch it out any further will just be painful to watch.
|
Hmm....

That's understandable, the TV show has been going on for too long that the creative team are just running out of ideas. No ideas, no story, no show. Simple as that. I wasn't a Simpsons fan anyway.
But there is still no stopping of an animated Simpsons movie for theaterical release though. :) |
The Simpsons really isn't that good anymore, the rejuvenation of Family Guy didn't help either
|
Family Guy isn't that funny.

So they are going to 20? At least there is a few years left that we can enjoy.
|
Don't worry, they do a lot of nuclear bomb testing down from where Dave's from
|
At least he admits that they're running out of ideas.
|
There are a few ideas they havent done to my knowledge.Homer becoming a wrestler is one.Maybe a few Wrestler voices: HHH,Flair,Vince,Matt etc.Homer thinks back to the time he took Bart to see Bret Vs HBK in Montreal and Bart threw something that hit the bell, causing it to ring (thats REALLY why the screw job happened...or something).
They could do a screwed up episode where Homer or Bart go back in time and through old episodes and stuff (can't think of an actual story for it) yeah,:shifty: |
It's cool that they're trying to go for the record, but as I've said before, they really should finish it sooner rather that later. When it does finally die it'll be known for becoming kind of lame in it's later seasons, which will tarnish the name of what was otherwise an amazing programme. I'll be sad to see it go because I love the Simpsons.

Family Guy is decent.
Basically, in a nutshell, family guy is Peter saying something followed by a flashback. repeat |
And they are always hilarious
|
I'm with the "Family Guy isn't that funny" crowd.
Why? 'Cause Family Guy isn't that funny. |
Actually, Stewie is fucking hilarious, but everything else is :|
|
Correction: They are all fucking hilarious
|
lol calm down Buzzkill
|
If you don't get the jokes then that's you're problem. And the show isn't all flashbacks either. It's mostly filled with jokes about old TV shows, actors, and movies. "Gumble and Gumble" wasn't a flashback, and that was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen on tv ever.

it used to be good, but please just end it

Yeah, I love the Simpsons better, but Family Guy is pretty good.
|
The funniest thing on Family Guy is when Kool Aid Man busted into the courtroom through the wall.
"Oh no!" "Oh no!" "OHHHH YEAAAAAH!" :shifty: [Slowly backs away] |

Isn't Meet the Press the longest running show?
Oh, well, it had to end sometime. Creativity is a big factor in TV shows cause too much too soon can make it jump the shark. It doesn't help matters that basically every network is moving on to other things or making room for more reality shows. I say this about every cancelled show: There's always reruns. |
Simpsons In The Future
-Bart would be 21, causing more hell than ever -Homer would be fatter and completely bald. Or he can strut around with a toupee -Lisa would be some out of control vegan -Marge would be....still Marge -Maggie would be like the young hellraising Bart. And have her talk way too much that it gets' annoying. She'd be like some sort of Britney Spears wannabe wearing scantily clad clothes that Homer bought from Wal-Mart -Milhouse will be gay -Lenny and Carl would finally have their gay wedding -Grandpa would be dead etc etc |
and yet Mr. Burns would probably still be alive

Although I do like Futurama. |
Although I find Family Guy funny, I tend to believe people hype it up more than it's deserving.
Simpsons is funny too, deeper, more cerebral humour, that I appreciate mixed in with the stupid funny stuff. The show could consider getting new writters if they really want to rejuvenate the series. Whatever though, I got other things to worry aboot eh. |
Futurama is the closest thing to the Simpsons without having to start a new Simpsons
