Ladies and Gentlemen, with the first pick in the 2005 NFL Draft...
The Miami Dolphins select Kyle Orton from Purdue University.
|
um. the dlophins aren't gonna finish worst overall

Miami, Buffalo, Arizona... I see those as the worst 3... baring any major inuries (is Portis gets hurt you can add washington) in the case of Miami, I see... 2 games they might be able to win. Arizona and SF... and I'm not so sure about SF. They have no offense, and there defense is not what it once was. I mean, anything can happen, etc... etc... But I wouldn't be shocked to see them w/ the #1 pick. |
The Bills don't belong on that list
I think the 49ers will finish worst |
49ers will finish worst, then Miami
|
Miami's D is still pretty good. Unfortunately they have a laughable offense. Tampa's in the exact same situation. I'd say that San Fran will have the worst record.

Arizona x 2 Miami x 1 and a lot of semi-bad teams... meaning teams you wouldn't call the worse, but are suspect and could get upset... ie: Chicago, Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Washington. |
They would blatantly take Bd. Smith

so do the 49'ers, I forgot about them. The bills are nowhere near where they should be. Once again, they have a bad coach. Bledsoe did well in New England because they put a system around him, that allowed him to play his strengths and hide his weaknesses. Buffallo hasn't done that. They have a system and want him to do it... doesn't work that way... That and so far I'm not as impressed w/ their Defense as I thought I would be... Honestly, I expected Buffalo to be #2 in the East and possible compete for a wild card... from what I've seen so far, it ain't gonna happen. They have 2 "good" running backs, and yet can't seem to get a running game going... anyway, I agree, on paper and talent they shouldn't be in the worst 3-4... but they're playing like it. |
Can't predict who they will take till you see who the coach is.
QB, RB are major needs... might be able to fill QB via free agency, and w/ Booker, Chambers and Boston next season, along w/ McMichael they have a great WR/TE group. They need a RB, they need OL, they need a QB and they could use a young DT or OLB. Depending on the coach, wouldn't be shocked to see a non-flashy move like a OT to start building for the future, or trade down to fill multiple positions... Early rumor is Charlie Wiess going there... If that's the case, I see them going after a RB, cause charlie can build a system around an average QB, if they have a strong running game. |
Kyle Orton won't be the first pick, as to the team that picks first, I don't think Miami will take the honors.
Besides the first pick will tend to differentiate depending on the team's need that gets the #1 overall. Unless of course you have an absolute standout, but so far I don't see one. |
Neither of the Bills 2 "good" running backs have been healthy yet, BTW
|
I don't know what it is about the Bills, they certainly have talent and playmakers.
How is their offensive line? Or does Bledsoe not fit or what? |
49ers will be the worst team btw.
|
Yeah i figured it would be either the dolphins or the niners. I just have a feeling about miami feely and feidler aren't cutting it. then again rattay is ass as well. but supposedly they got dorsey so i that's why i went with miami.
|
The Dolphins would take Carnell Williams or Cedric Benson long before Kyle Orton
|
espeically with the fact that running backs can make immediate impacts, while qb's usually take a few years.
|
why would they do that? ricky williams has to come back whether he wants to or not.
|
no he doesnt
|
sure he does. either that or work off 8 million dollars in debt with a real job.
|
You cant force someone to work.
This isnt the USSR |
wiggum, you're an idiot.
|
lol you moron wiggum
Carnell will go pretty high, if he went #1 I wouldn't be that surprised. |
what do you guys mean? i am pretty damn sure ricky isn't going to work at mcdonalds for 50 years to get 8 million dollars. he is going to come back and pay it off.
|
lol even if he does come back, he doesn't have to come back for miami. he can just wait until his contract runs out.
also, how do u know he can't afford to pay it back right now? |
A. He doesn't have to come back to the Dolphins
B. He doesn't neccessarily in dept 8 million, for all we know he has 7,500,000 sitting on his kitchen table and just needs 500,000 more to finish the deal. I'm just saying that to devils advocate you though, since its probably wrong. |
I'm pretty sure he would have to because I know that Barry Sanders' contract is still valid. If he ever came back (yeah right) he would HAVE to come back for Detroit. It was all over the local news. That is why when there was rumors about him coming back they said he wanted negotiating rights but they wouldnt give it to him. If Miami were smart they would do the same and not just give him away.
|
Miami will not finish last in the NFL, either the Bucs or the 49ers. Probably the 49ers. And I dont think Orton will be #1 anyway. I would think Jason White would be up there for Heisman again unless he doesnt blow it like he did at the end of last year.
|
Where did Jason White come from? He doesn't even belong in an NFL thread because he will never be better than a third stringer on the Bengals.
|
ahahahahahahaha 41-0 to the Giants

Generally when we talk about the draft we leave the 5th and 6th round out of it
|
It is and he's saying that if you had an ounce of sense you would know that Jason White is not good enough to play in the NFL let alone get drafted.

I was never worked up :?:

why? coaching. That and wasted draft picks have really hurt the Bills. |
Williams doesn't have to come back, he can file bankruptcy.
That being said, ESPN is reporting Williams is going to talk to the NFL to see if he can come back this season to Miami. I know by retiring after a drug failure it's supposed to be a 1yr suspension, but if he comes back and serves the original 4 games they "might" let him back. As for Sanders, no. Detriot no longer has rights, the contract has expired and the money was paid back. They did have a claim/rights but those have run out. |

I am praying that the Bills finish with the worst record, that way Dallas gets the #1 pick  . Forget Orton, gimme Mike Williams  . |

Do you think they would draft Orton, or just work with Henson if they got the 1st pick?
|
Cowboys w/ the #1 pick? It's Parcells, they go Defense.
I also wouldn't be shocked to see Bledsoe end up in either Dallas or Miami next year (Miami if Wiess is the HC). Parcells as HC and Wiess and OC got the most out of Drew... they both know the system to put around him... |

Plenty of good starters have been taken after round #1. Thats where you seperate the Scott Pioli/Bill Belichecks from the Bobby Grier/Pete Carrols.
Plus, plenty of late pics have worked there way up by kicking butt at the combines. Perfect example Mike Mamula. He should have been a 3rd round pick at the earlyiest, but shot into high round #1 w/ a great combine show. |

Thunder and Lightning right?
More like dutch oven and Lightning |
Cupcake and Lightning. Hell of a combo there.
My 12 year old sister runs with more authority than that guy. |
I don't know, it's almost a given Dallas will get a top 5-8 pick with the way the Bills are playing, if they draft defense I would LOVE Antrel Rolle out of Miami. Imagine Rolle,Williams,Newman and Woodson, OMFGGGG. Either him or Derrick Johnson wouldn't hurt. They could go in any direction pretty much, like drafting a RB, or even picking up another QB (which I doubt Parcells would do).
To answer VEL's question, the Cowboys picked up the pick by trading it for their 22nd this year which the Bills used for Losman. (dumbasses :)) |

Dane's problem is he doesn't have the quick burst of speed, which was fine in college when he had big holes opened by his OL, but in the NFL you have to hit the line quicker and he just ain't that fast... Big Goal line backs work, not just because of size, but they hit the hole... I don't care how big you are, if the defense is meeting you on your side of the line every time you won't go anywhere.
Hence why Cloud will become the goal line back in NY. |
