JETS AND GIANTS, WHOOOOOOOOO
Mark my words. If the Jets can beat the Patriots the week after next, they are gonna start at least 8-0, because Herm Edwards made their schedule or something.
Oct 17 San Francisco 1:00pm Oct 24 @New England 4:05pm Nov 1 Miami 9:00pm Nov 7 @Buffalo 1:00pm Nov 14 Baltimore 1:00pm Nov 21 @Cleveland 1:00pm Nov 28 @Arizona 4:15pm Dec 5 Houston 1:00pm Dec 12 @Pittsburgh 4:05pm Besides Baltimore and NE, they are gonna win all those games. They have the easiest schedule of all time. That's why I'm not sure about them yet. The Giants though.   |
yesssssssssssss
|
Damn hate the Jets
|
Trips you silly goose you. The Jets aren't gonna beat the Patriots!
Silly!!!!!! Gertner"Metrosexual" |
:D
|
That TD catch by Shockey was pretty hot
Roy Williams didn't like it though :( |
Cowboys :(
Roy Williams is still the man though, mostly because Darren Woodson is hurt, those had to give up his position of being 'the man'. |
Just like Chris Benoit, the Giants are FOR REAL
|
I just got back rom the Jets game a few hours ago....
but i agree that were not going to know what the Jets are made of until week 15-17 Seattle New England @St. Louis |
if Curtis keeps playing like he is, anything is possible.
NE, Balt, Hou, Cleveland and Pittsburg could all be tough games for the Jets. |
I don't think Cle is that tough. Everyone is underrating Houston..and Pittsburgh is just explosive when they wanna be.
|
They're gonna lose to Miami
|
Sorry that was my #1-wwf-fan retarded post of the night
Don't think they'll win the division but they have a good chance of a wildcard spottttt |
WTF are you talking about now?
|
Giants baby, looked piss poor in the first half then came out in the second half and opened it up on Big D.
I was surprised Seattle lost too, crazy. |
Ya Jets will get a Wild Card. Pennington is playing pretty good right now, We'll see if they can hang with New England. in a few weeks.
|
I got a picture of Curtis Martin hanging on my wall right now, back when he was with the Patriots
|
The giants might be for real.. but can they hold up... will the "new tiki" keep going?
I dunno, coughlin teams tend to get tired and fold near the end of the year... will be interesting to see... they don't have an easy schedule, and they play some strong defensive teams... but should be fun to watch. |
VEL GET OUT OF MY HOUSE.
But seriously, you make a valid point, seems what happened with his Jaguar teams. We will have to see, I am excited, Tiki is playing the best football of his life. |
That must be why he brought the Jaguars to the AFC Championship game in their second year. The Giants team is much better than the Jags were that year, so I don't see why they shouldn't be considered a threat.
|
I'm not saying that the Jaguars didn't accomplish anything under Coughlin, but in the latter part of his tenure in Jacksonville his teams weren't too spectacular.
|
Quote:
That Jags team didn't even win their own division, and it was a very weak division w/ exception of that years Steelers team who won the division. Coughlin is know as a "tough coach" and has always run his players into the ground... maybe he's learned... but only time will tell. He has them doing full contact pads practices late in the season and puts his players at risk. I don't know if he still does it, but he used to have a rule that coaches couldn't wear sunglases on the sidelines, it was a sign of "weakness". It's too early to say a team like the Giants are for real, but they have the potential. A lot of teams have potential and a lot of players are playing above their head... check back mid season... Can Tiki keep holding onto the ball? Cause if he starts dropping it again, Coughlin will bench him so fast his head will spin. can Warner stay healthy? and they don't exactly have an easy schedule... I'm not saying they're not a good team, but I'm waiting a few more games to see how they shake out. |
Also, as for season #2 of an expansion team. That has more to do w/ drafting then coaching.
don't forget, he got the job 18months before they played a game, he had plenty of time to scout... and even w/ that I'm not sure if he was the player personal guy... not saying he's a bad coach, just not putting him up there like some people do. |

Seriously... the refereeing in the NFL gets more and more rediculous every year. It's almost like when instant replay started, the officials looked at it as an okay to start half-assing their calls more than usual. Really, a little concentration. I don't expect every little call to be dead on but stuff like the Shockey interference, the interference on Bennett early in the game tonight, and the Trent Green "sack" last week along with about a million other plays this season alone just taint alot of the games.
|
Giants are outplaying everyone, they have mad heart, and that will take them far. That all stems from Coughlin being the fuckin man.
|
Tom Coughlin looks exactly like a rabbit, by the way. It's scary.
|
Quote:
You tend to see this near the end of games, where something has to be blatent otherwise they let things slip both ways. I think w/ the enforcements of the 5yd bump rule (which has almost become a 0yd bump rule) they are lightening up on some of the other calls... |
Alot of roughing the passer calls are iffy.
|
yeah, the NFL is really going out of their way to protect the QB, such as the no hitting below the waist rule.
Which I understand cause a few years ago like 1/2 the starting QB's got injured and watching Brady, Pennington, Culpepper and Manning is a big difference then there backups. |
The reason they are so touchy is because quarterbacks were getting hurt too much.
As for the Shockey penalty, yeah it was blatant. However there are times when the opposition gets calls in their favor as well. :-\ |
5-0. :D I am in like heaven right now with NY SPORTS. JETS AND YANKS.
|
The Jets opponents combined are like 6-22. Three one win teams, Miami, and the other three wins are from the Chargers.
|
Patriots just beat the Seahawks and have already beaten the Colts
|
G-MENNNNNNNNN
|
The Jets almost lost a lock on Sunday to the Niners. Luckily for them, the Niners remembered that they suck, just in time.
|
P.S.

Fuck the Canadian Bills. That is All. |
Quote:
*cough*Willis*cough* |
Quincy's crackhead ass will bring them back. JUST WATCH.
|
What happened to Pennington?
I was watching it, change the channel, change back to the game and Carter is throwing a TD pass :wtf: Also, what ened up happening? It got cut off here becuase the Patriots game came on |

Bills won by 5.. |
Fucking Giants man.
|
lol , Giants suck. I always said they were overrated.
|
THey don't suck, shut the hell up, that is a giant ignorant statement. Their D is great, and their offense has problems, but they are a playoff team, shut the hell up.
|
Quote:
Do they have a shot at the playoffs? Sure, they could get a wild card... won't be easy... they don't have too many gimme games the 2nd half of the season. oh, and their D is good, it's not great... I also wouldn't say they "Suck", but w/ that coach and a few players who played over their head the 1st half of the season that might come back down to earth fast (or are) I wouldn't be shocked to see them go 1-7 or 2-6 over the 2nd half. But as I said, they have a shot... but so does most the NFC right now at a wild card. |

"WOO THAT GUYS ON MY FANTASY TEAM" |
Quote:
Scary shit.. On a sadder note, the Aints are fucking horrible.. :'( Who Dat?? |
Too bad McGahee has to play for the Bills though. Can't stand them.
|
yeah I have McGahee on my fantasy team, but I put Brian Westbrook in instead of him, I don't know what the fuck is going on though. Westbrook had like the worst game ever, stupid injury.
|
Everyone expected the Giants to win like 4 games his yr, how could they be overrated.
|
Quote:
|
Yeah Pennington got "injured" on a sack. He is alright though I think. He looked fine on the sidelines. Also, the gay Bills just ran the clock out. The last 4 mins or whatever. Whatever.
|
Hopefully the Jets come back to reality now
|
Nah they are alright. They were doing well on offense but got nothing for some reason. They missed like a 30yd FG on their first drive, and the wind was crazy and shit. Plus, Buffalo has like the #2 D in the league. It's alright. They will go 12-4 I predict.
|
Vinatieri kicked 4 FGs, 4 extra points, and threw a TD.
He is on my fantasy team. Despite my dislike of New England, he is now the man. |

Thought we were better than this..

Also thought the Jets were better than that..
|
zing
|
Leave the fucking Jets alone. Them losing is SO early game.
Bears beat the Giants in the late game. Let's stick with the times and make fun of them. |
Did Eli get any PT??
|
Kris P Lettus, you are the worst poster of all time.
|
Nah Eli didn't.
|
Nope.
|
heh
And to think, less than a year ago I was in your top 20.. :wavesad: |
LOL wow, like everyone's team lost this week :|
Jets lost Giants lost Lions lost Cowboys lost Eagles lost Vikings might lose tomorrow night Saints lost Rams lost Depressing week :wavesad: (except for Supreme, and some others :foc: ) |
It's OK though. The Bengals are awful.
|
If the Giants can figure out how to beat the easy teams, then we're good to go.
|
Quote:
I am suprised how bad the Lions looked... I even started Jones on one of my Fantasy teams, cause he looked good last week and Wash had some injuries upfront... that didn't work out too well... |

Martz is another great Coordinator, horrible coach. |
I dunno. I was pushing for them to fire/demote Martz last year and then promote Lovie...which never happened.
|
Hey Trips - Strahan, torn Pec... out at least 1 month, MRI today to see if he's done for the season.
|
wtf
|
Says who
|
Quote:
|
Yeah he definitely injured his pec during the game, but I didn't hear that he could be done for the season.
|

|
It doesn't matter for me this week, one of my teams will win, one will lose :o
I think i'd rather have Indy pick up the win though, as they need it more right now. Minnesota can then beat Green Bay next week, Indy can beat Houston, and Detroit can beat Jacksonville. |
I bet all three of those games next week goes the exact opposite of what I just said :(
|
Jacksonville is going to finally get a blowout win instead of that last minute victory stuff.
|
Sweet, there goes the season, Strahan out for the remainder.
|
Quote:
Unless coughlin has changed, he's always been known to work his players to hard, hence injuries. Plus, I think Warner and Barber have been playing above their heads, well, especially Barber... will be interesting how they do the rest of the season, Strahan will hurt, but if the offense stays intact they should still be able to compete. |
VEL, you have no idea what you are talking about. The Giants really have been playing great. It is not a fluke. And the NFC is weak, so they should be able to make the playoffs easy. Their only competition for the wild card is Detroit, Green Bay, and St. Louis. All three of those teams are 4-4 right now.
|
Quote:
Also, Kevin Jones is not what Detroit needs. If I were Mariucci, I'd just say, "Hey, we have one excellent first-round pick in Williams, so fuck Jones and let's make Pinner our #1." Pinner > Jones |

How bout them Patriots

Quote:
Barber is playing over his head, he's not as good as he's playing, and he will at some point break down and come back to earth. But hey, I understand, the Giants fans don't have much to hold onto. Should just rebuild, one thing Coughlin was good at was finding talent, get rid of some high priced guys and rebuild the team. and no, it's not coughling "pushing a team" he was known in jacksonville for doing stupid things like full pads contact practice late in the season and that's how players get tired and get injured. Who knows, maybe strahan was an early sign of that. |
You are an idiot. Shut up. I guarantee you have not watched any Giants games this season. Barber really is nuts. He has been playing great every game this season. It's not just one or two games. It's consistent. If you watch him it is insane. You think he's going to be tackled, then he just teleports or some shit and gains 7 yards.
|
Quote:
Really Trips, I thought you were smarter then this... what is this your first year following the NFL? Do you think Barber is a rookie? or are you assuming he's just a late bloomer and all his problems are magicly gone now that Coughlins here? That's fine, I just think we'll see the old Tiki back at some point... might not be this season, might be next... we'll have to wait and see.... |
Quote:
he gets back to 100% and blows chunks the rest of the year, different story. |
What problems? He hasn't lost a single fumble this season. He has obviously done a lot to improve himself during the offseason too.
I don't get what the hell you're talking about. |
Quote:
Really Trips, this is like talking to Wadding about the Rams. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/player...s?statsId=3937 There, now look at his career stats... he's on pace to have his 2nd highest yds per rush avg, beat his total rush yards by 253yds, etc... etc... the biggest change is he hasn't put the ball on the ground. Now, yes... sometimes when a player makes a drastic improvement mid-career it's continues, he's a late bloomer or whatever you want to call it. Personally, I see the fumbling coming back and coughling wont stand for that and Tiki will be on the bench or gone. might not be this year, this could be his "1 hit year" so to speak... and I'm not saying he's a horrible player, far from it... the fumbling has been what's always hurt his career. again, time will tell. |
