PATRIOTSSSSSSSS
like the red sox thread, but for the Pats.
Instead of having 786216759 different topics about the team, just use this one for general discussion. They just beat the Seahawks for their 20th straight win and 17th consecutive regular season win *which also ties THAT record. TOM BRADY  |

If by start you mean continue. The Patriots will continue being good and the Red Sox will continue being a choke.
|
I want to see the Patriots go undefeated. They aren't my team or anything I would just like to see that. Especially in this day and age, it would be cool. Only to have them choke in the playoffs.
|
Well it wouldn't be a stretch
they only play like 2 good teams from here on out |
Eagels baby.. :D
But yeah the Patriots are sick. |
I actually would like to see the Pats go all the way undefeated aswell. Then the whole winning streak would mean a helluva lot more. With the Pats it wouldn't be like some random team real good one year and doing this amazing feat, they are actually a really good team, and if any recent team was going to do it I would like it being the Pats rather than the Rams or something. That being said, it kinda sucks cause the Pats may have been a little bit better last year, but maybe not at the same time?
|
NY is stopping you next week. We're not only going to end your baseball team's run this year, but you're going to be looking at the Jets as the ones that end your precious little streak.
|
I don't know, the Pats disposed of Seattle pretty handily and they are probably better than the Jets, even if they have a worse record.
|
ya gotta love the Pats.
Brady is da man :y: |
They play the Jets next week?
hot game |
Yea this post is probably gonna ruin it now you dick, look what its doing for the Red Sox
|
Hmmmmm, who's been saying the Pats are gonna go undefeated all year?
THE GREATEST SPORTS TEAM ALIVE! |

I'm not impressed. Pats will beat the Jets and lose the next week.
Roethlisberger baby! |
What the hell, this is like a blatant attempt at trying to look even more like sTiMa.
|
yea sick
|
Patriots at home > Jets.

I would like to see the Pats go undefeated, as previously stated. I believe it will continue with the New York Jets.

Pats IMO are one of the best teams in football. I don't watch too much football though. But from, what I have seen I have been liking the Pats. They're a real good football team.

don't fall off that limb... |
The Power Rankings have the Vikes at #4 behind Pats, Eagles, and Colts. Whoa!
|
My rankings would be Pats, Vikes, Eagles, Colts out of those four.
|
How can you honestly rate the Vikings over the Eagles. Christ, the Eagles beat the Vikings already, that should tell you right there. Minnesota's defense is awful; Philadelphia's isn't.
|
yeah, Pats then Eagles. Colts... dunno... I don't think they have the defense... thats gonna kill them in any big game.
Vikes, gotta see if Moss doesn't play, how they do... been doing well w/ RB roulette. |
Yeah and that's the only quality team they've played.
|
Patriots, Eagles, Colts, then the Vikings
Do you guys think the Jets are for real? I don't know..who have they beaten? |
The Vikings and Eagles game was just a joke, the Vikings were playing way too conservative. If they played again I wouldn't call the Eagles outright favorites, give them the edge but they weren't anything special against the Vikes.
Regardless, the Vikes are probably a bit high @ #4 right now |
Oh please. THE EAGLES BEAT THE VIKINGS, so clearly they are the better of the two teams. I don't know how else to put it. "It was the only quality team they played." Bullshit. The Giants, 4-1? Yeah. Detroit and Chicago are gimmes, but Carolina isn't horrible (granted they're not very good). The point is, Philly is beating the teams they should, although their win over Chicago left a bit to be desired. Minnesota is looking good, but guess what? They're 4-1. Philadelphia is unbeaten. They are the better team of the two right now. And that's totally not taking into consideration that Moss might not even play this week. But whateverrrrr. They're both good teams, but Philadelphia is better.
As for the Jets, I dunno. They're looking pretty good. Depends how long Martin can continue playing like this. Even then, if Martin starts slowing down, Pennington is good enough to keep the offense decent. His and Moss' numbers aren't that good right now, but that's because the Jets have been running the ball so well and haven't had the need to pass. I know it's an obvious statement, but their game against the Pats will show whether or not they're for real. They have had a very generous schedule so far, so that has to be taken into consideration. However, sometimes even simply winning the games you should be winning is all that matters. I think they're gonna be good this year, but not elite. They'll probably get a wildcard though. Also, I think this year's Chargers are gonna be the same as last year's Bengals. Just instead, Brees = Kitna and Rivers = Palmer. If Rivers doesn't play at all this year, the Chargers are gonna be back to losing again next year. That's why the Bengals are looking so bad right now. The Chargers will probably finish 8-8 or so, but when Brees is gone and Rivers is starting, I don't think they'll do so good. I dunno, just something I thought offf |
I said that the Eagles were a better team. I also said that the Eagles were not far and away the better team. I said that if they play again the Eagles will not be a lock to win it. It will be close.
|
yeah, the jets have a decent team, martin looks 10yrs younger then he is and a good/smart QB.
Plus, they have such an easy schedule they'll have to try NOT to make the playoffs. |
I think the Jets will lose on Sunday, but thats not a knock on their team at all. I still think they are one of the top teams in the AFC. The media will call them a fluke if they lose, but BCWWF wont.
|
Jets can get some redemtion for us with a win Sunday. Big time Redemtion cause they'll end the streak.
|
That would totally be a kick to the groin of Boston if the Jets won this weekend, which really would be kind of funny.
|

|
Yeah, with the way the baseball went, it just makes sense that the Jets are the team to end the streak.
Of course it probably won't happen, but it will be funny if it does. |
I don't see the Jets beating the Pats at New England. Nobody beats the Pats at home.
|
Risky prediction Gertner, but it worked out in the end :)
|
lol it's not a prediction! it's a fact!
|
The Pats are the shit.
|
Jets should have won. Jets should have won.
|
Quote:
Too bad that didn't happen.. |
Really? Good call. Read my post again.

Patriots are gross
Patriots > YOU |
What a fun game... The first qtr was great... I think like 4 or 5 drives ate the whole qtr.
The jets had the clock and got all the way down and bang... big turnovers. The pats got lucky, there turnover didn't hurt them... and when the defense had to come up big and stuff the Jets at the end hey did. They kept showing pictures of schilling bloody sock, ortiz and from last nights sox game ortiz hr, bellhorn hr and foulkes final K. forgot how much fun it was going to nfl games... what a great stadium... think I might have to get club seats next year (it's the only "season ticket" available, the others have like 60K on a waiting list). |
They might make the stadium bigger for the fans. Since its like a horseshoe now I guess, they might close up the other end. But this was just through the "rumor mill" or whatever
I still haven't gone inside Gillette Stadium yet, I went to one of the training camp practices but they are held right outside the stadium |
Quote:
They had the orignal option to make a huge stadium 80-100K seats and it would have sold out... but they wanted to keep it "intimate"... oh well, the guy I got tix from said I get first dib on any games he doesn't want this year... WOOOOOOOOOOOO! I think I need to get a new portable grill :) |
Ive always wanted to go with a group of my friends. It is impossible to get tickets though
|
GO PITTSBURG
|
hahaha
21-3  |
just got back from lacrosse and the steelers are up on the PATRIOTSSSSSSSS.. and my eagles are 7-0... :D for once i am rooting the for Steelers
|
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PATRIOTS
|
HAHAHAHA. YEAH RIGHT. Finally something to cheer about
|
I'd rather lose to any team but Pittsburg...
Doesn't suprise me, to the extent no Dillon and Law is also out now. But, it's long from over... I'd just rather lose to any other team in the league (even miami or the jets) then Pittsburg... Anyway, it's only a regular season game... it's being undefeated in the playoffs that count. |
STEELERSSSSSSSS

The Patriots just can't do jack shit.. Brady is trying to make things happen but no one is doing anything... AND IM LOVING IT
|
GO EAGLES!!!

|
WHOOOOO
|
Considering I love Pittsburgh, and hate the Patriots, today was a good day
Except for my beloved BRONCOS who sucked it up again. |
What was up with the Vikings though, that was poor
|
The Giants were up with the Vikings, that was what.
|
Anyone watch Giants games the past few games? Gibril Wilson #28 is gonna be a baller.
|
Was Moss even playing today?
I don't think he even had a reception. Nice to see Bennett back though at least. :o |
Yeah he was in the first half as a decoy you could say. Came out at halftime in a t-shirt.
I guess you could say we didn't play the offense at full strength but a W is a W. |
Yeah, having no Moss is no excuse, we have four running backs who are all capable of carrying the load, and Burleson/Robinson/Campbell are all good enough to pick up the slack in Moss's absence. They did well enough without him against the Titans last week.
I dunno how well Culpepper played, but from what I watched of the game on NFL.com, he didn't look like the same guy who threw 5 TDs in three games. Can't really judge it very well from just watching the online shit though. 5-2 is still a great start, I can see another loss coming at Indy next week (which I personally won't mind :o) but the Packers are catching up  Giants are impressive, they only have the Packers and the Rams/Seahawks to be worried about as far as a playoff place goes. |
Yeah, the Injury bug has hit hard... Dillon, Law, Gay, Light....
Ty Law left the stadium on crutches w/ a cast on... I'm a little worried about trying to cover STL rec w/o Law and Poole is also injured, Gay who was the backup got hurt, they had to move a Saftey to CB. |
So, 2 OL injured, 2 starting CB injured, backup CB injured, WR's injured... and the Pats still had a shot in the 4th.
I must admit, the Steelers still make me laugh... this is the team in 2001 we're doing interviews before the AFC championship talking about their superbowl plans and people they'd bring and where they were going to stay, etc... and then got their butt kicked in their own home. So, they spend the whole offseason talking about how they were they better team and that was their trophy (the Raiders did this also) but the steelers really kept it going... so... what happened week #1? The Pats destroyed them, not even close! So, now finally the Steelers w/ a new QB, new RB and others are saying "See, we told you in 2001 we were the better team, it only took us 2 years to prove it" Meanwhile the Pats are saying... "Where's your ring?" Steelers "We broke the streak, we broke the streak" Pats "Yeah, we just want to be undefeated in the playoffs". Anyway, I take nothing away from the steelers yesterday, yes the Pats had some major/key injuries, but you have to have depth which the Pats always have... More importantly, there were no injuries on the DL/LB and the Steelers OL (after the 1st) physically beat up the pats DL. but, thats why we play 16 games and then the playoffs... I just really hope to meet them again in the playoffs. :) |
It was a great run while it lasted.
|
Is Ty Law gonna be out a while?
I have him on a couple teams :@ |
Haha wow, it's kind of ridiculous how people are acting like the Patriots are shit now, because they lost 1 game of their past 22. Pittsburgh's a good team, and yeah NE lost, but guess what? They're still a good team...
I kinda like the Steelers though... I love teams that run the ball a lot instead of doing all that fancy shmancy passing. Running = the goods  |
Hey gertner, what were you saying a few weeks back?
Oh, yeah... But yeah, they still have a great team, no doubt. |
Quote:
LB Kendrell Bell DT Casey Hampton CB Chad Scott CB Mike Logan QB Tommy Maddox OL Kendall Simmons And although they played: Plaxico Burress (Shoulder) Duce Staley (Knee) "More importantly, there were no injuries on the DL/LB" So, the most important guy in our run stop defense (Hampton) is on the IR without having an injury? And is Linebacker Kendrell Bell on vacation? The Patsies didn't lose due to injuries, the lost because their "complicated" defensive schemes were picked apart by eventual rookie-of-the-year Ben Roethlisberger. As the Eagles will learn next Sunday, you can't stop BBR. |
Quote:
|
Nah I wasn't talking about you really, mostly just the guys that are like "YEAAAAAAH FUCK THE PATS WOOOOOOO WHAT NOW"
|
I knew they were goona lose to Pittsburg. They still a good team no doubt but I knew they were gonna lose. haaahaa
|
Quote:
When the Eagles lose in the NFC Championship again, I will be doing the same thing, but obviously to the spazzy Eagles fans. |
Plus we all pretty much did the same thing to the NY Yankees when they lost :o
|
Quote:
Roethlisberger picked apart there system? Really, I'd like to know what game you watched. What won it for the steelers was the running game, the Steelers OL dominated the Pats DL/LB. As I said, it's one loss and the Steelers earned that win, no bones about it... but to try and pretend having out your starting LT, both start CB (one pro-bowler), a Backup CB and the starting RB didn't have any effect? Come'on, get real! Injuries change the game, put Dillon back in there it's a different game. I'm not saying the Pats would have won, cause who knows, but the Loss of Dillon hurt the most. As for the team you've cheered for, for 13 years... umm, how many rings in those 13 years? That's what I love about the steelers, finally, they feel they redeemed themselves from 2001, when they were making superbowl plans before playing the AFC championship... where they lost in their OWN HOME then game one the following year, they were going to prove how good they were and got their ass kicked. Again, I take nothing away from the steelers wins, but it's the players and fans who somehow think this 1 win is better then having 2 superbowl rings, that really makes me laugh. |
Quote:
Especially teams w/ long winning histories (Yankees, Celtics are the first two that come to mind). I tell ya though, you almost gave me a woddie putting the Pats in the same league as the Yankees. 4 superbowls, 2 wins. The only team I can really compare w/ the Yanks is the Celtics. Hockey, I would guess the Candiens? not sure, I'm not a huge hockey follower. Football, there have been "dynasties" but nothing that can compare to the Yanks or Celtics. |
Some of these Boston fans are starting to look like me, when I was in my prime.
|
Troy Brown is playing defense :|
|
LMAO @ Vinateri TD pass
|
Pats win...
Dillon's the difference maker... they would have won last week w/ him. Can't wait to meet Pittsburg in the playoffs and put them back in their place. Someone said about the Steelers "Yeah, they talked trash, but they backed it up" True, but the Steelers have talked trash for 3 years... they've predicted big wins over the pats for 3 years... I mean, if you keep betting against a matchup, you figure it's gotta happen eventually... yeah, still pissed about last week, not the streak or records, but simply the steelers... they don't deserve to win. Anyway, Pats win, life is good. and the 2nd half of the season, doesn't look that tought right now the way the Pats have been playing... I see 3 tough games... KC (due to pats CB injuries and how they've been run on a lot), Baltimore (running game and defense), Jets (There going to be fighting plus they have an easy schedule the 2nd half). |
LOL Troy Brown made the last tackle of the game
Thats classic |
Troy Brown actually played a helluva game given the circumstances
