BabyHugger 10-22-2004 02:12 AM

Boston will probably collapse, but Ill be rooting for them.

el fregadero 10-22-2004 02:19 AM

They are terrible, Boston is going to eat their pitchers alive.

BCWWF 10-22-2004 02:36 AM

Sensei Of Mattitude 10-22-2004 03:27 AM

Walker, Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, Renteria

I am about to go blow up the Redsox bus now.

BCWWF 10-22-2004 05:37 AM

There is no doubt that St. Louis' five amazing guys are better than the Yankees 5 though, IMO.

DegenerationY 10-22-2004 05:50 AM

Sox in 5

RP 10-22-2004 06:01 AM

I think Boston will win. I'm also rooting for them. But i'll be the first person to roll on the floor laughing at the idiots who basically burned down there campus's and local bars in Boston after they beat the Yankees, If they lose. ComoN! Your team wins the american league championship and you burn the city down. Florida Marlin fans make you guys look like fooking retards. Congrats on the AlCS idiots. Pray you win the title cause if not america will be laughing at your ignorant premature partying for years to come.

Morons.

BCWWF 10-22-2004 06:48 AM

I know some people that go to BU and BC actually, and they are really smart

Paranoid Rattlesnake 10-22-2004 08:01 AM

World Champions what a joke

el fregadero 10-22-2004 10:22 AM

Yeah, Man United could beat them anyday.

SuperSlim 10-22-2004 11:05 AM

Sox all the way

Dunno but it's close.

(hopefully someone who has time will pull the stats of the 5 vs. 5)

Jeter, A-rod, Sheffield, Matsui and you'd have to go Williams I guess as #5...

The big difference between the two, is w/ the exception of Bellhorn who has a great OBP because of all his walks, the sox don't have a "true out" at bat, someone who really shouldn't be hitting.

IE: Mathney

Now, what does change is Ortiz will be at 1B... which takes away Millars bat, and Ortiz is pretty bad at first base. Then if you do a defensive replacement late, you lose Millar and Ortiz...

Loose Cannon 10-22-2004 03:46 PM

I agree.

I'll take the bet with you.

el fregadero 10-22-2004 05:03 PM

Bye, Outlaw. :(

BCWWF 10-22-2004 06:03 PM

If you brought up season stats there is no doubt that the Cards lineup would be better, simply because Jeter was 0-60 or something in the beginning of the season, and A-Rod didn't do anything until the second half either.

The Yankees is set up more like: Get on base, move around base, big rbi, another big rbi.

The Cards lineup is set homer, homer, homer, homer, strikeout. Which is why a good set of pitching could make some candles go out.

Florida Marlins have fans?

BCWWF 10-22-2004 08:19 PM

Lol Stima

ralphwiggum 10-22-2004 11:47 PM

I think you misspelled NL champions.

Corkscrewed 10-23-2004 06:49 AM

Cardinals only have to win ONCE at Boston. Then the series is over, because they'll have three in St. Louis.

Cardinals don't lose in St. Louis.

Also, history is in the Cardinals' favor. Both times before when they met Boston in the WC, they had the best record in NL that decade, and they won both WC's.

The Mackem 10-23-2004 08:02 AM

OI OI OI

ct2k 10-23-2004 07:27 PM

I fucking hate Boston.

they don't? ever? really? wow... better call the MLB and fix their home record.

But more... I love your last thing... people who say that have no clue what they're talking about "history" yes... it's called that for a reason... Different players, coaches, talents, rules, parks in some cases... etc.. etc..

Saying "Well, the Cardinals won before" is like saying the sox didn't win due to a "curse". Load of crap... the team that plays better will win, plain and simple.

3-0 Red Sox, bottom of the first.

YOUR Hero 10-23-2004 11:46 PM

5-2 now. Woody's curve just wasn't working. Hell I bet I could drill it.

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 12:04 AM

Ugh. What was that Millar

YOUR Hero 10-24-2004 12:15 AM

What is it 7-5 or 7-6 now?

nevermind.. 7-5.
Pujohls has looked like shit so far.

el fregadero 10-24-2004 12:17 AM

Good job, Wakefield.

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 12:21 AM

GREEEEEEN MONSTER

The Miz 10-24-2004 02:09 AM

Oh my GOD Manny Ramirez is probably the worst defensive outfielder I've ever seen play in the major leagues. How is possible that somebody so good at hitting can suck so much penis at every other aspect of the game?

The Outlaw 10-24-2004 02:10 AM

That second error looked kinda like a freak play. He tried to slide but his right leg wouldn't do it. Just looked like an awkward play. He still sucks at fielding, though.

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 02:16 AM

WOOOOOOO.

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 02:28 AM

BOSTON YOU'RE MY HOME

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 02:28 AM

Only Game 1 but still.

The Miz 10-24-2004 02:29 AM

Red Sox really got away with one; their defense, pitching, and baserunning was absolute shit. They aren't going to score 11 runs every game, I honestly can't see them winning this series.

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 02:29 AM

No shame losing this series if we do. It'd be awesome if we win but coming back the way we did was amazing and beating the Yanks to boot...which is more important. :shifty:

Champion of Europa 10-24-2004 02:31 AM

Just 3 more games.

Yashamaga 10-24-2004 02:33 AM

If they sweep (which I HIGHLY doubt), they will win the world series on my birthday (27th)

But I think this series goes at least 6 games

Boondock Saint 10-24-2004 02:34 AM

It'd be cool to have it goto Game 7 on Halloween. People would be dressed up and stuff prolly. Just be cool to see.

lol, OK.

The Answer 10-24-2004 02:43 AM

Mark Bellhorn has come up big lately especially after getting booed for about 5 straight games especially at Fenway.

el fregadero 10-24-2004 02:44 AM

Manny Ramirez is basically the worst defensive outfielder ever and they still won.

Yashamaga 10-24-2004 02:51 AM

That's not fair to Manny though, ask VEL and sTiMa this: Manny's made a few spectacular plays this season.

It'd be more on target to call him very inconsistent

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-24-2004 02:51 AM

Yea on that last Manny error his cleat got stuck in the turf

He is a pretty bad outfielder though, but remember that time he made that sick grab at Yankee Stadium? He randomly pulls shit like that outta his ass.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-24-2004 02:51 AM

EXTREMELY inconsistent lol

The Outlaw 10-24-2004 02:54 AM

Yeah that second error was a freakishly awkward play. I was laughing about it and then saw the replay and was surprised he didnt seriously hurt his leg.

Yashamaga 10-24-2004 02:57 AM

Yeah when I first saw it I thought he was just trying to make a good looking catch. I was pissed until I saw the replay, pretty freak stuff.

el fregadero 10-24-2004 02:57 AM

Yeah, the second error was pretty weird, but that first one was inexcusable. Doesn't matter though. If the Cards need 4 errors by the Sox to still lose by 2, then I think Boston has a good chance to win.

Jerichoholic 10-24-2004 03:38 AM

Yeah, Manny is always really weird.

I still remember the play from the begining of the year were he was like jogging in to catch a pop-up, and it slipped right out of his glove because he was being lazy.

Then he will jump of the wall and make a really great catch.

You just never know with him.

VonErich Lives 10-24-2004 05:00 AM

"manny being manny" yeah, he's not a bad fielder, he just blows plays "big plays" I'm not sure what his fielding % is, but I bet it's not that low.

Anyway, the fact that this team wins these games, Pujols and Rollen 0-8, this sox team should win the series.

Okay, maybe the Sox will get 4 errors every game. But it doesn't matter as long as they win.
