Terrell Owens out for season, playoffs

He might come back if the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl, which they won't with T.O. on crutches.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, eh?

FALCONSSSSSSSSSS

Seriously though. I am hoping for another Eagles collapse.

Which would then result in another Falcons Superbowl collapse :(

Innovator 12-20-2004 08:21 PM

Fuck, now WHEN the Eagles lose they'll have an excuse

BCWWF 12-20-2004 08:55 PM

They will still make the Super Bowl, who do you think is going to beat them in the NFC? The Packers? The Falcons? They are still a defensive team, and they should still walk through the NFC.

OK, the Packers just lost AT HOME in December (10 degrees without factoring windchill) to an AFC team that won't even make the playoffs. They got killed by the Eagles a few weeks ago, I don't see them beating the Eagles at home. The Falcons are the only team that still has a legit chance is the Falcons, but honestly who are you kidding, the Falcons?

The Vikings have an injury torn roster that includes I think 5 starters right now, aswell as some of the worst linebackers in the league. The Eagles beat the Vikings in the beginning of the season while Moss was healthy and TO only had like three catches. I doubt they do a thing.

Seattle is just plain awful.

St. Louis is just funny how bad they are.

Carolina probably won't make the playoffs, and if they do they don't have enough talent to get past the wildcard this season.

So basically, everybody here is putting their money on the Falcons to represent the NFC in the Superbowl? Excuse me, but

Rain Man 12-20-2004 10:12 PM

I was at my girlfriend's house when I saw this.... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( I was fucking pissed. They say it all depends on how it feels in a couple weeks. If he can't run in like I think 4 weeks than defiently done for the season. But if he can and is fine he SHOULD be back for the Superbowl.. Oh jesus I was playing Madden today with my brother and he was the Falcons and I was the Eagles.. And the Falcons won.... :nono:

But the way the NFC is this year even without TO, the conference is still so bad they should easily get to the Superbowl.

Rain Man 12-20-2004 10:13 PM

Hey BCWWF.. YOUR COOL!

Rain Man 12-20-2004 10:21 PM

TO hasnt done much in the past three games, besides his Touchdown against the Packers he hasn't done much and the Eagles have squeezed out two pretty shitty wins. As long as McNabb and most of all Westbrooke stay healthy they should win right on. Westbrooke has been the big play maker for the Eagles the past two seasons. Last year when he went down late in the season it really hurt the Eagles cause he was our main guy. So with Westbrooke and McNabb healthy I'm not worried.

Gonzo 12-20-2004 10:30 PM

Stats lie. Just because he didn't statistically do anything doesn't mean his precense wasn't felt.

I love how everyone says he won't be back until the Superbowl. Not saying they won't get there but don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Rain Man 12-20-2004 10:36 PM

Oh his presence is most defiently felt. He opens up so much more for every other reciever. But I'm saying Westbrooke has been huge the past three games and has carried the team on each, and can through the playoffs.

slextremely 12-20-2004 10:41 PM

The Eagles BARELY beat Dallas without T.O. they are done if he can't play.

What? he went down in I think the 3rd quarter? How can you judge that the eagles are "done" off of 2 quarters? Their offense was not playing good all game and it wasnt because of TO? Dumbass.

Boomer 12-20-2004 10:53 PM

I will not deny how good a defense Philly has. I will say they have lost the NFC Championship because of dropped catches from their recieving core. I have said to my friends all year that the Superbowl was probably going to be Eagles-Patriots, but without TO, any team has a better chance. Vick has been defying the odds all year anyway. The best teaam doesn't always win. That's the fun of it.

OssMan 12-20-2004 11:04 PM

Westbrook

The Icon of Elisim 12-20-2004 11:11 PM

Without TO I would pick Atlanta or Carolina, personally

Crimson 12-20-2004 11:22 PM

Woooo Roy Williams with the HIT on Owens. The NFC IS pretty weak , but i'll still be surprised if the Eagles make it.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-20-2004 11:48 PM

They could still end up making though. They aren't a lock like they where before, but like everyone said, NFC is fucking weak.

I don't know, if the make the Superbowl without TO you are never going to hear the end of it from Philly fans.

And Outlaw, why are such an anti-Eagles fan? Does that Brett Favre play still burn deep inside :(

And the reason he has been huge is because of TO's presence...:)

Basically I dislike them because of their fans, same reason anyone does. I like McNabb alright, used to be a big TO fan so yeah. What play? The only play I could be upset about was the 4th and 26 or whatever?

The Outlaw 12-21-2004 12:08 AM

So, all season Eagles fan have been all on TO's nuts and saying the reason they are dominating is because of him, but now that he is done for the season they will be ok? If Walker went down I would be worried, and he's nowhere close to TO. I don't understand the people that are downplaying this.

MIAMI

Yeah but the Packers aren't as good as the Eagles either. Eagles will probaly still be favored to make it to the NFC Champ game without TO. Thats how bad the NFC sucks.

also Brady > Miami

Really?

I know they aren't as good, but TO is 70% of their offense, with Westbrook being 25% and their other skill players combining for the other 5%. TO has what...14 of McNabb's 29 or 30 TD's? Westbrook has the next most. TO is what they were missing from being a contender. Without him...well we will see what they are without him.

GOOD NIGHT DOLPHINS?

MoRcHeEbA 12-21-2004 12:57 AM

I'm not getting cocky with the Jets. I did that with another team in the playoffs and they lost. I'm not saying anything anymore.

Innovator 12-21-2004 01:15 AM

Looks like the road to the Superbowl is going through Pittsburgh

The Outlaw 12-21-2004 01:17 AM

They just almost lost to the Giants. I think the Playoffs are going to be unpredictable myself...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2004 01:17 AM

Yeah, Jags probably won't make the playoffs in the AFC but they are still a better team then the Packers. I am not surprised at all that Green Bay lost.

The Outlaw 12-21-2004 01:18 AM

Shut up, the Pats just lost to the Dolphins, do not slam the Pack :'(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2004 01:18 AM

Its one game guys. I still think it's going to be Pitt and Pats in the AFC Championship

el fregadero 12-21-2004 01:18 AM

Jacksonville still has a chance. :'(

Loose Cannon 12-21-2004 01:20 AM

I think Buffalo will sneak in.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2004 01:20 AM

It sucks some shitty uninspired team like the Vikings will make it. While an inspired team like the Jags won't

el fregadero 12-21-2004 01:20 AM

The Vikes won't be as bad as Seattle and/or St. Louis making it.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2004 01:23 AM

Wow you are right. With the expection of Carolina, Philly, and Atlanta the NFC is just flat out stupid. I know Carolina has a shitty record but they've been "hot." Also, Dan Morgan is a sick fuck and is probably my favorite "non Patriot" in the NFL.

Triple A 12-21-2004 01:24 AM

Yeah fucking St. Louis better not make it. They won't though. They have Philly next week and then the Jets. They are gonna finish 6-10. Terrible.

Panthers will make it hopefully. Hope a real shitty team like the Saints doesn't make it.

Loose Cannon 12-21-2004 01:25 AM

Carolina lost most of their good players too. I should know, since everyone down here tells me that every time the Panthers are brought up. :nono:

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2004 01:26 AM

Its either Carolina or St. Louis pretty much..isn't it?

Triple A 12-21-2004 01:26 AM

The Saints play @ Carolina in week 17. That game will probably decide the last playoff spot in the NFC.

Triple A 12-21-2004 01:27 AM

The Saints, Panthers, and Rams are all 6-8. The Rams have the hardest schedule. The Panthers are def gonna make it, IMO. All comes down to that last game with the Saints though. If the Saints can somehow win that, they will make the playoffs. Terrible.

el fregadero 12-21-2004 01:29 AM

It will be the worst feeling of all-time if one of those teams makes it with a 7-9 record.

Triple A 12-21-2004 01:29 AM

They are gonna.

Loose Cannon 12-21-2004 01:30 AM

I wouldn't even count out all those 5-9 teams just yet.

Triple A 12-21-2004 01:30 AM

The Giants could still make it if everybody loses every game.

The Outlaw 12-21-2004 01:31 AM

lol yeah NFC is definately weak

But hey, if one of them can get hot in the playoffs, regular season doesn't really matter.

to bad about the Lions. Didn't realize they were 5-9.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-21-2004 01:35 AM

Kinda wierd timing for Harrington though. He FINALLY has a good game, then after the game he sounds like he is about to kill himself after the loss. Why couldn't he ever had that conference after he played like shit? I'm not saying it did any certain reason or anything just something to think about.

Loose Cannon 12-21-2004 01:36 AM

Wow, basically every team, except San Fran, still has a chance in the NFC. unreal.

Loose Cannon 12-21-2004 01:36 AM

yeah, something like that can destroy a guys confidence.

Innovator 12-21-2004 01:40 AM

One minute left, you have the flu, and you lead your team down the field and score with 8 seconds left, tying the game. Then you're snapper messes up.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, like they said on ESPN Detroit found something out about Harrington, the guy can get down.

No, Giants only play well when they are already out of it, or have no possible shot of winning.

Tiki better get a Pro Bowl bid, the man deserves it this season

BCWWF 12-21-2004 03:33 AM

Jesus, there has been two pages of posts tonight.

What team is it that you guys are so confident the Eagles are worse then?

The Falcons? They are the only team I see with a legit chance, but they are stupid and will have to play in Phily to go on.

The Packers? Come on, the only player they have on their whole team is Brett Favre. They have an offense that can be sliced through like hot butter.

The Vikings? Randy Moss probably still wont be 100% and they have one of the worst defenses in the league

The Seahawks? No, just no

The Rams? If you think an aging offensive arsenal is going to beat the Eagles, no.

The Panthers? They probably won't even make the playoffs now. They were hot for a few weeks, then it all blew up. Even if they do make the playoffs they are without some of their best players.

So basically, I am not saying that the Eagles are still hot shit, but there is no team in the AFC that you can currently make an argument that they are better then the Eagles, except maybe the Falcons, but if you do you are gay.

MoRcHeEbA 12-21-2004 04:16 AM

so what you're saying is that you're gonna light my country music award on fire?

The Outlaw 12-21-2004 04:18 AM

lol cheeba

Y2Ant 12-21-2004 09:22 AM

As it stands in the NFC Wildcard, Packers play the Panthers at Lambeau, and Vikings play the Seahawks at the Metrodome, I think I might prefer the Panthers though :(

Vikings have a good shot at winning the NFC North now though, huge game on friday

Are you retarded? They won 5 straight before losing to Atlanta and have the tie breaker against St Louis and New Orleans. They also barely lost to the second best team in the NFC. The Rams will be 6-10 and the Saints suck.

VonErich Lives 12-21-2004 12:14 PM

Will the Loss of Owens hurt, of course.

But they got there last year w/o him, and they still have their running game that they have been using this year.

I still see them going to at least the NFC championship.

But I must ask, is their a more arrogant coach then Mike Martz, what other coach on more then one occasion has hung a loss on a player and never ever taken blame himself.

The Pats loss does suck, but could be worse... could be 1993 when the 5-11 Pats (well, 4-11 at game time) beat the Phins last game of the year to knock them out of the playoffs.

The Pats play good on the road and away, so while homefield is nice for the fans, it's not like Indy who plays much better in the dome.
