BCWWF 01-02-2005 08:31 PM

We play the Packers now? Interdivision wildcards, smells like bacon

RoXer 01-02-2005 08:39 PM

Chargers > Jets

Yeah, fuck you AAA.

BCWWF 01-02-2005 09:24 PM

Joey Roxer, where are you? Aren't you a Bulls fan too

RoXer 01-02-2005 09:30 PM

Bulls? What are you talking about?

RoXer 01-02-2005 09:30 PM

Suns/Warriors/Kings

Nervous Ferret 01-02-2005 09:50 PM

wow I spelt discussion wrong.

BCWWF 01-02-2005 10:08 PM

Wasn't that you that was drooling about the Bulls one night? Now that I think about it I remember you are from Wadding Country

RoXer 01-02-2005 10:13 PM

Nah. Might have been Joey Radd. Or JT Kool. Or Funky Fly.

I always get confused with them.

BCWWF 01-02-2005 10:15 PM

Oh I bet it was Joey Radd

The Icon of Elisim 01-02-2005 10:23 PM

You mean Kid Robb

BCWWF 01-02-2005 10:31 PM

All the same

The Outlaw 01-02-2005 10:43 PM

Kidd Robb is nowhere near Joey Radd.

Minn @ GB? :-\

The Outlaw 01-02-2005 10:58 PM

Also wtf @ Mike Holmgren. Maybe I am bias but Shaun needed 82 yards to have the rushing title. He rushed the ball 18 times for 81 yards. On the one yard line. Hasselbeck sneaks it.

Does anyone see something kind of shitty about this besides me?

Shaggy 01-03-2005 01:05 AM

I was happy when my Broncos had it won and were in the playoffs. Then when I heard they were gonna play the Colts I was sorta sad. Sure they beat the colts today but the colts didnt have the good starters in. I just hope the Broncos have saved there good plays for this game.

The Icon of Elisim 01-03-2005 01:06 AM

I dunno, at the end he probably wasn't expecting Atlanta to drive for four and a half minutes and was more concerned with getting the TD.

that'll teach him for saying he wants to go to Miami

I dunno, I would think he would be more confident with Shaun getting the one yard than Matt "We want the ball and we're going to score" Hasselbeck? :-\

MoRcHeEbA 01-03-2005 03:12 AM

I agree that I don't think holmgreen thought Atlanta was gonna march the ball for the whole 4 minutes... It's also not an individual game Outlaw :p

The Icon of Elisim 01-03-2005 03:15 AM

QB sneak is the right play to make at the 1 yard line as far as I'm concerned. I don't see how giving it to Alexander would've been better strategy, especially since they Seahawks picked up the last 20 yards of that drive with Alexander rushes.

I think its fair to argue that he should've gotten more carries in the game but they made the right call at the goal line.

The Outlaw 01-03-2005 03:21 AM

I know I know it's not an individual game. I should know that considering I played offensive line and a little DE. And I guarantee you that Shaun does not care about it and is happy with the home playoff game. BUT, he is the main reason they are there. He doesn't get enough carries. He is not appreciated in my mind. That MIGHT have been the right call strategically...but ya know, it just would have been...good to have seen him rewarded for carrying the load even with minimum carries.

Meh...oh well

BCWWF 01-03-2005 03:29 AM

Was it the final play of the game that you are talking about? Because if its there then you can't really do it for a guys stats, but if its just a random play in the middle of a game that you are talking about thats different.

The Outlaw 01-03-2005 03:34 AM

It was in the flow of the game. They went up by like...a touchdown maybe at the time? 3rd quarter or fourth Im thinking?

VonErich Lives 01-03-2005 04:42 AM

I wanted to throw something through the the TV and hit moose w/ it... shut up about the stupid season leader... yeesh... the win was what mattered. Who knows if they even know how many yards he needed at the time!

The Outlaw 01-03-2005 04:53 AM

Yeah considering it was hyped before, during, and after the game and I am pretty sure everyone knew...

same thing happened with Tiki Barber. He needed 2 yards to break Joe Morris's single season record for the Giants, on the two yard line...draw TD TIKI

Nervous Ferret 01-03-2005 03:40 PM

Curtis Martin- 1,697 rushing yards.
Shaun Alexander- 1,696 rushing yards.

zinggggggg Alexander missed a game or 2 I think though.

BCWWF 01-03-2005 03:42 PM

The Jets just lost to the Rams, Chargers will win that game by 2 touchdowns.
Colts will thrash Denver.
Seahawks over Rams.
Minnesota won't even show up to Green Bay. Vikes stopped playing football in November.
This will set up Some GREAT 2nd round matchups.

Nervous Ferret 01-03-2005 05:19 PM

but the jets already beat the Chargers...at San Diego.

and I could have sworn Alexander missed a game or 2, maybe he only played a little..

Haven't really followed college this year, but if there's a top QB they'll go QB, not RB.

You don't get many shots at a franchise QB and look at how many RB move around, plus they have a decent RB.

VonErich Lives 01-03-2005 05:38 PM

I don't know what's funnier, Alexander saying he was stabbed in the back and they were "going to win anyway"

or Moss walking off the field.

MoRcHeEbA 01-03-2005 05:41 PM

yeah Tice should give Moss a fine for that even though he probably won't... I wouldn't be surprised to see the Vikes knock off the pack considering Green Bay has now lost it's top two recievers and TE. Who knows though Minnesota might be a surprise just because their offense can put up points like nobodys business.

BCWWF 01-03-2005 05:41 PM

I would think Miami tries to get a somewhat distinguished free agent QB from Free Agency, aka Drew Brees.

Alex Smith, Jason White (Chris Weinke 2005), Stefan LeFors, Jason Campbell, and (maybe, dunno if he's declared yet) Aaron Rodgers are the top QB's this draft. I don't really see any of them being top for some reason. I don't really know their needs though. Is DGY around?

Matt Lienert is supposed to be taken real early if he declares

I guess im the only one who has some hope for the Broncos. I think it will be one tough game but I bet my Broncs can take the colts. If the Broncs do lose I predict it will be by a field goal. But thats my pick right there. Broncos over Colts.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-03-2005 06:53 PM

Colts worry me this year, I am more worried about them then the Steelers honestly. I really think the Patriots will beat the Steelers if they get there. Colts worry me though because they are "due" for a win againest the Patriots. Plus the secondary is banged up which plays right into the Colts hands. I don't know, Law will probably be back. And Gay is probably playing at the same level as Pool as this point. It will be intresting to see Law if hes back in the flow or whatever. I am hoping the Colts lose in the 1st round somehow, get them out of here

buy Seymour really worries me if he's out... that's huge... especially against pittsburg.

I swear, "The Snake" is one of the biggest wastes of talent... the guy had the athletic skills to be one of the best... can run, can throw a frozen rope on the run... but he has one of the worst heads in the game.

The Outlaw 01-03-2005 08:08 PM

Shaun surprised me with his comments. I am glad he spoke up though, it shows he is unhappy in Seattle. Ride his tail all the way to the goal line the whole drive and then sneak it.

Again I am surprised he spoke up. He's not the kind of guy who is selfish or greedy and whatnot, but I'm sure people are going to think that. He, along with a lot of other people, thinks he deserves it.

1) Is he the only top QB in the draft?

2) Never believe what a team tells you before the draft, if they're telling you the truth then they're idiots.

I keep hearing they want to trade down, also heard Mike Willams (see: Jerry Rice).

Well, that all changed this weekend a QB sneak was the right call. why risk a handoff where you can fumble the exchange plus you step away from the line. Plus there was plenty of time left. The simple fact is, they were 1/2 a yd away from OT against a team of backups in a game that decided their division and home field in the first round of the playoffs. So the "We were going to win anyway" was crap.

1-10-SEA40 (10:07) M.Hasselbeck pass to R.Hannam to SEA 48 for 8 yards (D.Hall, B.Scott).
2-2-SEA48 (9:38) S.Alexander up the middle to ATL 49 for 3 yards (K.McCadam).
1-10-ATL49 (9:05) S.Alexander left tackle to 50 for -1 yards (T.Hall).
2-11-50 (8:20) M.Hasselbeck pass to B.Engram to ATL 27 for 23 yards (A.Rossum).
1-10-ATL27 (7:36) S.Alexander left tackle to ATL 27 for no gain (B.Scott).
2-10-ATL27 (6:57) M.Hasselbeck pass to J.Stevens to ATL 16 for 11 yards (B.Scott, B.Smith). ATL #91 Smith injured on play - walks off the field.
1-10-ATL16 (6:31) S.Alexander right tackle to ATL 14 for 2 yards (M.Stewart).
2-8-ATL14 (5:55) S.Alexander right tackle to ATL 3 for 11 yards (C.Draft).
1-3-ATL3 (5:13) S.Alexander up the middle to ATL 1 for 2 yards (C.Draft, B.Scott).
2-1-ATL1 (4:32) M.Hasselbeck up the middle for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN.

They started at the Seattle 40.
Alexander got the ball 6 out of 10 times... Gaining 3, -1, 0, 2, 11, 2.
So, out of those carries (6) he had 1 good run 11yds.

Plus there were still over 4mins left.

Boomer 01-04-2005 12:36 PM

For the past 3 years, this one included, I've picked Ram vs Colts.

I'm gunna stick with it . I have a feeling the Rams are set to go on a roll offensivley. Lets face it. Anyone who gets hot will come out of the NFC. I dont see one team in the NFC that can sack it up and take down a red hot team.So i'm thinking the Rams are about to get hot.

I'm die hard Colts. This year looks like " The Year". I havent seen a better Colts team in my 14 years of being a fan. Honestly i think we can handle the Broncos. Hell Jim "friggin" Sorgi was torching there defense. Pats vs Colts could be one for the ages. This rivalry has been building fast over the past 2 years and i just get the feeling theres gunna be a Epic match up.

The Miz, what are your thoughts on it?

The QB sneak was the right call, much safer play. What wasn't a correct call was to only give him 19 carries or whatever. I don't agree with Shaun publicly bitching about it. We gained some momentum by beating one of the top teams in the NFC on a goal line stand that won the division and a home game against our rivals. No need to create any controversy or slow anything down right now. And who cares if he didn't get the title, everybody knows he's better than Curtis Martin. Adrian Beltre hit more home runs than Barry Bonds last year, but everyone knows Barry is the best power hitter in baseball.

Nervous Ferret 01-04-2005 05:53 PM

also didn't shaun fumble on the 1 yard line against the jets? much safer to do a qb sneak.

Rain Man 01-04-2005 05:57 PM

The QB sneak was a good call Alexander was just being a bitch

VonErich Lives 01-04-2005 06:50 PM

He apologized, said something like "I'm human, I've poped off before and I did it again, and I take responisbility for my comments and don't want to hurt our team".

On the flip side, Tice said he spent an hour on the phone talking w/ Moss about Why he left early...

WTF, I'm the owner, I fire him... That conversation should have lasted 5mins and ended w/ "Here's your fine and/or suspension".

Pats won a superbowl w/ their #1 WR suspended for the rest of the season (Terry Glenn).

MoRcHeEbA 01-04-2005 06:52 PM

I wouldn't be going around telling people that Terry Glenn is your number one reciever.

The Outlaw 01-04-2005 06:57 PM

Yeah I guess after I think about it, it MIGHT have been the right call...but I dunno...meh

This was my post on another forum after I actually thought about it.

Do I think he deserves the title? Yes

Do I think Holmgren should have given him more carries? Yes

Do I think he is underappreciated in Seattle? Yes

Do I think this was the right thing to do? No

We before me, Shaun. I know you are frustrated, we all are, but this wasn't the way to go. The game wasn't in hand. You will get the rushing title many times over in your career.

"was"

Glenn was great his first few years... look at the numbers.

At the time, he was a key part of the offense, but he was a jack ass and the coach had enough and benched him for the season.

SammyG 01-04-2005 07:15 PM

Rams are explosive offensively, dont know how good we are gonna do though in seattle, i really wish this game was in the Dome... but they can still beat them in seattle, they have already done it once, they will do it again. The only noise they will make is a THUD when they hit the ground after getting beaten by Seattle.

Nervous Ferret 01-04-2005 11:37 PM

naww rams will go over seatle. But I mean neither of them should be in. Auburn and USC should be in instead of them.

Rams 27 Seahawks 21

MoRcHeEbA 01-05-2005 01:51 AM

who said anything about the seahawks?

#1-norm-fan 01-05-2005 04:05 PM

I picked a Seahawks - Colts Super Bowl before the season started.

Nevermind THAT.

Chargers over Jets
Seahawks over Rams
Colts over Broncos
Packers over Vikings

Steelers over Chargers
Eagles over Seahawks
Colts over Patriots
Packers over Falcons

Colts over Steelers
Packers over Eagles

Colts and Packers play to 17 Overtimes over the span of three days until the game is finally just called off and the Lombardi Trophy is split in two and given to both teams.

Really, my dream Super Bowl right there. I can't bare to chose sides though.
