i WON'T BE WATCHING Tonight and I really don't even care, which is weird, because usually when the Rumble I'm pumped as hell. I don't even feel any kind of excitement.

Me neither, but it's because I can't tape PPV's anymore so I don't buy them, I mean what's the sense of paying $30 for a 2-3 hour show that you can only watch once, I used to get every PPV, tape it so I could watch it for years to come, now I don't buy any PPV's, well except for WrestleMania that is.

Just great I took the time in making a rumble thread and for what nothing.I posted it an hour ago to :rant: just because the site was always going down

Rhyno vs. Maven is the Heat match. Maven won by holding onto the ropes. Bad opener.

Edge vs. Shawn Michaels opens the PPV. Edge pinned Michaels holding onto the ropes and trunks. A good match. Maybe not as good as I expected but expectations were high. Finish was a little too similar to the opener.

Ric Flair drew a good number and danced with Torrie Wilson. Eddie Guerrero didn't seem as happy, but hugged Flair and left. But Guerrero stole his number so now Flair has a bad number.

Heidenreich and Snitsky had a love-fest. Seriously, they both declared they liked each other a lot. But Heidenreich hates caskets. I guess we're working toward that tag match after all.

Undertaker vs. Heidenreich in a casket match is next.

I'll be very surprised to see Snitsky NOT interfere in this match. >_>

Undertaker vs. Heidenreich in a casket match is next. They had Snitsky and Kane both interfere and brawl to the back at about the 5:00 mark. Kane came out of the casket as Snitsky and Heidenreich were double-teaming Undertaker. It went back to a crummy singles match. Several botched spots including Undertaker losing him on the choke slam, but he used the tombstone and rolled Heidenreich into the casket to win.

Teddy Long ordered Guerrero to give Flair his number back. Evolution came out as well. Long also told Guerrero to give Flair back his wallet. HHH took a lot of vitamins this week. He looks bigger than Dave. Okay, maybe not bigger, but comparably big. HHH and Dave are upset. Dave wants to get his number but HHH wants to talk strategy to beat Orton. Christian & Tomko signed a petition for Long to be kicked off Smackdown. Christian drew a good number.

Christian and Cena had a rap-off. Of course Cena embarrased him.

JBL vs. Angle vs. Show is up now for the Smackdown title. Show had Angle pinned by Jindrak pulled the ref out of the ring. Jindrak & Reigns were beating up on Show. JBL was about to be taken out on a stretcher after being tackled through the barricades by show, but Jordan threw him in the ring and he pinned Angle with a clothesline. Below average.

Big Dave refused to sign Carlito's petition. Carlito chewed the apple. Dave back Carlito down threatened to sodomize him.

Dave went to get his number.

Eric was so fed up over the mess of a title match that just ended that he banned Evolution from ringside for Orton vs. HHH match. Dave seemed happy about the fact he could give HHH the scoop.

HHH vs. Orton is up next. Pedigree in the middle. There was a ref bump and Orton didn't even get the visionary fall. The storyline is that Orton got a concussion and could never recover.

Batista won the Rumble throwing out Cena. They did the tie finish with both going out together. All the Smackdown refs said Cena won but the Raw refs said Batista won. Vince came out and ordered the match re-started and Batista power bombed and threw Cena out in seconds. Not the best Rumble show by any means. Some good stuff here and there but I don't think anything from this match will be all-time memorable. The only guy really put over strong was Batista. Benoit started and lasted until the last group. It was shorter as they shaved a lot of time on the entrances. No obvious injuries. The London injury and stretcher job was clearly a work, but he did a hell of a job with the bump nearly landing on his head.

Thoughts:

- Good match between Edge and HBK. Crowd wasn't into it though.

-Hilarious stuff with Eddie and Ric in the back. Gold. I predicted that Eddie would start the Rumble in the Tipsters league (though I picked #2 cause in the beginning the dude who made the thread said Puder was already #1)

- Heidenreich and Snitsky are absolutley hilarious together. "I like you Jon"-"I like you too Gene. But I don't like caskets"-"I like you Jon"-"I don't like caskets"-"*heavy breathing*"-"*heavy breathing*"

- Pretty bad with Heidenreich vs.Undertaker.

- Christian promo time equals GOLD. Punking out Cena. I am more of a peep than ever. Cena's rap was better than his recent fare too.

-Three way was decent for what it was.

- lol at Eugene as Forrest Gump punching that lady. Regal: "Run Eugene, Run!"

- The HHH/Randy match was good. The concussion thing was a bit goofy.

- How dumb is it for Nunzio to give up his spot so easily?

- Rumble match was great. Though they didn't get a Ric Flair/Eddie Guerrero confrontation. Also the end was kinda blah. If they were going to do the whole restarting thing, let it go for awhile before the end.

Fuck, my predictions were horrible for Tipsters. My two most frustrating moment:

I had Taker correctly tombstoning and rolling Heidenreich into the casket, but then I changed it to Heidi winning after interference. DOH!

I also had Hassan at #12, and he came in at #13!!!! :mad:

Although we have a lot of Wrestlemania setup now. Angle vs HBK... Snitsky & Heidenreich vs Brothers of Destruction... Batista vs HHH... Cena vs JBL.

WrestleMania 21 outta be decent the way things are shaping up.

More thoughts on the rumble match itself:

- How cool was the Smackdown vs. Raw faceoff?
- Then they all turned on Hassan, making him the ultimate heel! Plus now Hassan can go on RAW and say it's prejudice and if he wasn't arab american they wouldn't have teamed up on him like that.
- I totally marked out for the World's Greatest Tag Team spot. Even though they didn't do it as well as in the past.

Only problem is that I got 2-4 for last 4 entrants. I said HBK and Angle instead of Edge and Rey.

I missed the first hour of it. It's what happenes when you go to church :eek: Don't ever go, especially on a WWE PPV. Its funny how this church (born again christian - I wont get into it) hypes up that they'll be showing the superbowl on a huge ass TV and they don't even mention the Royal Rumble. They don't mention Wrestlemania either. Why is this?

Was that Orton concussion thing real? It either was or he did a really good job selling it. He had me fooled if it was a work. Orton really did look dazed. But I don't think that they would continue the match like that if he was hurt....I don't know.

-Nice Big Show/JBL splash spot through the guard rail.


-That Raw and Smackdown faceoff in the rumble was cool.

-The shortened time between guys sucked. Was that only like a minute? They screwed it up.

-HBK/Angle at Wrestlemania :love:

-How come announcers don't keep track of how long a wrestler is in the rumble anymore? Edge, Benoit and Guerrero were in for a decent time.

-Why is the sky blue?

Ha ha ha. My dad was just watching it (I taped it cause he wasn't home and he likes wrestling) and I just caught something hilarious in the Christian promo that I didn't the first time.

When he went to go pick his number he looked at Torrie and Christy and said in a sarcastic voice "My, what an important job it is that you have!"

Only the WWE could have Edge "go over" HBK and then have HBK have the hotter program going into Mania.

-GREAT PPV in my opinion! That's more like it! Good job on the WWE's part. :cool: I saw the PPV at Galaxy Theatre, and was surrounded by marks! In my row, there was like 5 or 6 ten year olds. They were hilarious, and were legitimately pissed when Edge won, etc. :lol:

-Watching at the Galaxy was an eye-opener for me. I realized that Guerrero, Cena, and even Taker are FAR more popular than the faces on RAW. Only Batista and Jericho compare to Cena/Taker/Guerrero. Even Mysterio can be put on that list. I can kinda see why there are lots of people who enjoy Smackdown. The marks love their faces. :p

Why the Royal Rumble ruled, and why tonight's RAW kinda sucked
 

Well that's cool. That boards didn't fuck up on me. I'll continue.

CAUTION - Potential Raw spoilers ahead.


Last night's rumble RULED for TWO main reasons in my opinion.

-Hilarious backstage skits (Christian/Tomko/Cena/Guerrero/Flair = :rofl: :rofl: -). Snitksy's apparent homosexual crush on Heindenreich. :rofl:

-Unexpected happenings (i.e. Angle/HBK, Snitsky/Taker/Kane/Heidenreich)

-Good storyline progression and interesting angles.


A third reason - Some decent bumps (i.e. Taker on Heidenreich, Show on JBL, Snitsky on London)



The actual QUALITY of the wrestling had little or nothing to do with the overall enjoyment experiencd by most fans

What happened on RAW tonight?
 

IMO - those were the main reasons why the RR was so good. So - why did Raw kinda suck tonight? Here's my arguments:


-Not enough backstage skits. More "mystery" and "intrigue" should've been devoted to the 'who aired the JBL tape?' thingy.

-LONG and BORING matches. This is the biggest thing IMO. The marks don't WANT to see long matches! Period. Save them for PPV's......when the matches have strong storylines behind them. After last night, I'm *CONVINCED* that a large reason why the "Attitude Era" was more popular than the current era, was because there was

a) More unpredictable (like last night's PPV).

b) Intriguing skits (like last night's PPV).

c) More emphasis on storyline progression and character development, rather than focusing on high quality but boring matches.

This is the first time since Saturday that I've actually been able to get here on a count of the database error messages.

I tried to come on before the Rumble and say how I was so incredibly syched for it like I haven't been for a PPV in many years and how I was rooting for Cena in the Rumble like I haven't rooted for anyone in wrestling in many, many years. I didn't really think he had a shot but then it came down to him and Batista and I was going INSANE. COMPLETELY marking out like no one has ever marked out before.

I wasn't really disapointed in the end as they did it better than I thought they could. Cena is the fucking MAN.

Also, HBK VS. ANGLE. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!! GREATEST MATCH EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Wrestling is finally good again.
