Homer is getting a bit stale now :(

Its tough, Peter didn't have an oppurtunity to get stale cause just 3 seasons and Family Guy as a show was great from the start while the Simpsons had at least 2 seasons of okay stuff before it became what it is. But Homer is Homer, but Peter's also black. K, Peter wins.

Archie hated blacks, gays, chinese, and pretty much everyone who wasn't like him: Homer's friends with Lenny and Carl, one of whom is black, both of whom have feelings for one another, has had aprehensions towards gays, but not to the point where he'd refuse to live with gays, and thus far has never called anyone a ch</>ink, go</>ok, or nig</>ger. While racism was an integral part of the character of Archie, it was not so with Homer.

Archie was uneducated: Homer is uneducated.

Archie was a lip service Christian: Homer is a lip Service Christian

Homer is an abusive father: Archie was a jackass, but not abusive

Homer is prone to wild schemes, one of the signature parts of his character: Archie prefers to sit in his recliner and complain.

Archie is versed enough on current events to blame everything on the Jews, the blacks, and the Chinese (and the hippies, fags, and so on) : Homer is totally clueless.

Archie was a character of subtle irony: Homer is a character of blatant and direct motivations.

Homer's had his moments over the years, but I find Pea Tear Griffin to be much more entertaining.

I really do not view Peter as being a "Homer rip-off", sure many characters are going to share some similar traits, but Peter is unique from Homer. I don't think that I have ever watched a Family Guy episode and have the thought "Peter is like Homer" cross my mind.

Homer, original character that took the average man and made him not so average in a not so ordinary way.

Peter is not a Homer rip off, and it's spelled Pea Tear Gryphon. Gryphon is my University's mascot, so I take offense to people not recognizing our claim to fame in Family Guy.

And what's with all the people talking about Futurama? That show stinks, how dare their characters be compared to the likes of Homer and Peter?? :wtf:
