Yes according to my "inside" sources, the Sega Saturn will use CD's instead of Cartidges.. isnt the future amazing? yeah i've also heard that sony is going to be doing the same thing, but i'm pretty sure this whole CD fad will let loose sometime or another, i just hope they make more games for my Sega CD though, now thats the REAL future.

I just dont see how CD games could be better. Look at the size of that compared to a cartridge. The cartridge is way bigger so it should hold alot more stuff on it. No one can beat the graphics now. So why Try?

Fighting games on the Saturn typically had wayyyyy better ports than ps1.

What's a port?

Fighters Megamix was the tits. It had so much going for it ahead of other games. It just looked blocky as fuck.

My Saturn still worked last time I set it up. Megamix was impossibly hard even on easy. I must have lost the power.

Port is when you take say an arcade game and put it on a home console. Fighters like X-men vs Street Fighter were much better on Saturn.

The film becomes even better with this in mind. The commentary is good but Vic is right, a new version exposing Mitchell would be great.

the only non nintendo unit I ever had was a Game Gear. I remember seeing a Sega Nomad at one point but it came out same time as Saturn and all the nomad was was a portable genesis..and like a month later it wasnt selling at EB out to our mall

Oh I was never into sega home console but I used to drop a bunch of money every saturday at the arcade playing Daytona USA and virtua fighter

I had a Sega Saturn as well, remember a mate of mine having one who lived close by so I thought we could trade games etc. Then he sold his pretty much straight after.

Sega Rally was awesome, even with its very limited scope. I remember owning a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga, which was the best. Really wish I still had it with how much it’s going for on eBay.

Wow even the demo sells for 12 quid which you got free at the time with the Sega Saturn magazine.

I used to go to the in-game arcade in the mall in the late '90s-very early 2000s and just spend so much money playing NBA on NBC and Gauntlet Legends. I spent countless attempts and failures at finding that damned 12th rune before finally getting it and going on to beat the game and collecting the 13th and final rune. I remember being honestly amazed at some of the machines being able to save progress as I never went to any arcades really in my most youthful days.

On a related note, I recently purchased T&E: Back In The Groove. Nice update of the original. Plenty of nostalgia, a few new tidbits, and most importantly, current controllers are a lot less stiff than the Genesis d-pad, so some of the added "difficulty" created by said controls is gone.

Still, a refreshing change to all the "live services". Something I can pick up and play for a short jaunt or long haul without being repeatedly begged for more money? Yes, please. Kinda ironic, in a game all about a very early form of loot boxes in randomized presents (until you identify them).
