Matt Hardy and Rhyno have been released. World Wrestling Entertainment wishes them the best in their future endeavors. Knew about Rhyno, but why Matt? |
So he won't shoot on Edge when he comes back.

I would doubt Edge has to worry about Matt kicking his ass.
But as one guy said long ago, the wrestlers who bust their ass for Vince sure do get treated like circus animals in the end for their contributions. I can see why Rhyno was fired, but to me the firings of guys like Matt and Test before him were just dumb, and lacking sense. Also, I feel some sympathy towards Matt. |

Matt was released because of a technical clause in his contract. Since he is under an undisclosed weight amount, his contract has the "No Hoss Straw Draw" stipulation. This month officials brought the remaining non-hosses together to make another draw. Matt Hardy drew the shortest straw and was released.

Some are siggesting this was an amicable and mutual split for now. Matt needs time to get his life in order, and that might be difficult working in the same company as those who have betrayed him etc. Take some time off, work elsewhere if need be, and then when you feel like you can come back, and work professionally at the same time, they'll re-sign you.
Perhaps this is the case, but if not, my point above still stands, and I think it's shameful that you get rid of talents, while keeping non-talents, and plenty of it. |
Honestly what is with the WWE lately? They release Test when he's recovering from neck surgery, now they release V-1 when he's almost back. Besides that, Edge and Lita have an affair while Matt is recovering, Edge gets a title shot and a push while Matt is released. Good fucking job WWE.

I just read about it on WWE.com and came stright here to see if anyone posted about it. Sure enought everyone on here is pretty quick.
That really pisses me off. Matt is one of the best WWE has and they go off and do this to him. Sure I get that they dont want him and Edge to beat the shit out of each other over the whole Lita thing but still. That sucks more than anything right now. Rhyno getting released is also a bad thing but both of these are good for TNA. They can get Rhyno and make him into the champ he was in ECW. Then they put Matt and Jeff together again and for the Tag Titles. Seeing the Hardys Vs Americas Most Wanted would be pretty damn good. |

He gets put in one of the biggest, yet worst storylines of 2004. He goes out with an injury, and while recovering, his girlfriend cheats on him with one of his good friends, behind his back. And just when he is ready to return, he gets released. This is absoulute BS! :foc: As much as I like WWE, this has to be one of the worst decisions they are making. They keep people that are crap, and get rid of people that can actually do something. I even got a chance to meet him in late February during a Wrestlemania tour. But I do wish Matt the best of luck in anything he does. |

The early word I am getting on Matt Hardy's release is that the major reason he was let go is due to how he handled the situation with Lita and Edge, which of course he went very public with on his website.

When Austin left around WMX8 the WWE took every opportunity they could on tv, their website and their magazine to say "Austin took his ball and went home" and other such things. Granted, Austin was in the wrong, but it shows you just how vindictive the WWE is.
