This is the first release in a while that I'm really saddened by. Molly has been my favorite female wrestler for quite some time now.

Here's a small update, apparently Molly asked for her release last night after she was told that a.) there would be another Diva Search and b.) she had to put over Christy Hemme again.

Not at all...Well, except if you count her being one of the main players in the women's division...Otherwise, you're right on the mark.

But she hasn't been in an actual angle in over a year.

She barely gets any TV time, even on Heat, and when she did she puts over Christy or Lita.

I mean she could goto Japan where they would actually use her all the time.

I am personally happy, if they aren't going to use her then she can go somewhere that will use her to her ability.

WWE sucks... Two years back womens wrestling was actually interesting to watch because Trish, Jazz, Victoria and Molly put some really good matches, but now WWE is going back to where it was 4 years ago... Nothing but useless and talentless plastic chicks... :nono:

I am fuming with rage right now. Rhyno's release was a disappointment. Matt Hardy's release was saddening to hear. But this? This is ridiculous. Great going WWE, you just lost one of the best female wrestlers you've ever had.

Her last matches were all losses she lost to Stacey and Christy.

Well, if it's true Molly asked for her release because of the two above reasons, it makes sense.

But in all honesty, who else would be able to put Christy over and maker her look legit? She and Victoria are the only face female wrestlers. It wouldn't help Christy if she made enemies with Victoria, now would it?

And without making Trish look bad as they build up the feud, Molly is the last choice.

I know that she doesn't have much going on and the women's divisin is basically crap (and I personally have never given two shits about it) but to release a talented worker who spent years oaying her dues while Christy hemme is working with a huge contract and your about to pay another quarter mil to the next talantless bimbo that walks in off the street is akin to when WCW was paying Master P and the No Limit Soldiers hundreds of thousands for their appearances.

Its a slap in the face of every person in that locker room who earned their spot.

When did the WWE start building a women's division? For the last year (arguably two years), the women's wrestling division has been Molly Holly, Victoria, Trish herself, and I guess arguably Lita, even though she sucks in my opinion, and is never there due to injury.

Maybe (s)he's referring to the mid-90's? I don't know...I remember the women's division always being about OK wrestling and OK talent. It took a swift upturn in the late 90's with Molly, Victoria, Jazz, et al. It has now taken a nosedive straight into hell. I seriously don't even know why they bother having a women's title. Maybe something the women can catfight for, like a cheap prize or something. And that's sad.

If TNA could get those 3 plus Andrew Martin and another decent name, that's a "WWE" invasion right there.

Absolutely spot on. That would really make me make time for TNA. For me, they would be a great stable with Matt as the talker, Test and Rhyno have both shown in the past that they can be gotten behind, great idea

From what I've gathered from my numerous sources within WWE (PWInsider.com), Molly and the WWE had a mutual split. Molly asked for the release as she wasn't happy where she was.

Jacqueline could wrestle, Lita could wrestle at the time, Trish was improving.

then there was Jazz, Victoria, Molly, Ivory. Killer women's division.

the thing is that they released a spate of wrestlers late last year (A-train, chuck palumbo etc) but has the product really improved??? no. last week was good. this week was back to the crapness of before. since when did WWE stop becoming a company that cared about wrestling and just cared about entertainment......fucking WWE bollocks.

So the WWE Women's division now consists of: Trish Stratus, Lita, Victoria, and Christy Hemme - minus Lita because she's currently injured.

Just drop the god damn division! It's pointless! Oh, but I guess they have to keep Trish happy, since she wants to be considered a "legitimate athlete" and all. Fuck it. Drop the division and maybe she'll do Playboy.

Poor Molly. Next to Vicky, she was my favorite female wrestler. But WWE... what a piece of crap. Again, they get rid of some top guys that can still get some notice and put on a great show and yet they pull off crap like this past Raw and fire those guys and replace them with garbage. Let's see what comes next in what is just a bad time for wrestlers.

I wish Molly success whereever she goes and it's unfortunate she was unhappy but in a world where great women's wrestling is over looked to bring out pointless Divas who aren't even valets, I can see why she felt this way.

Nah, for me it's always been boring. It's always been too sloppy and to choreographed looking. Victoria and Jazz both gave me glimers of hope... Trish has gotten better over the years, but that's not enough. The entire business of female wrestling has never been that popular anyhow, minus the T&A stuff. Since that is the stuff that seems to generate anything, I can understand why the WWE would lean that way.

Whether it womens wrestling or the T&A stuff, I have no use for it. So "mah" remains my thought.

Molly has talent and I'm sure if she wishes to continue in wrestling and there's another sponsor interested in women's wrestling, she should so fine.

The T&A stuff sells, but with the nasty chicks they tend to get, I don't think it's a smart direction for them. They offer something which can't be found on other channels, whereas with T&A, you can find better stuff on other channels. I don't know why they'd want to make me choose between their substandard T&A and other, superior T&A.

Side show stuff really. Although this whole Diva Search is really pushing it towards your last point.

Joey Styles at 1wrestling.com is reporting that Molly Holly's release was a mutual one, as Molly had grown tired of the womens division losing focus on the wrestling. She approached management and expressed her feelings, and now today, as we all know, Holly and the company parted ways.

Molly Holly was the best female wrestler ever. Ever notice how she never had a bad match? She was the Bret Hart of the Women's division. I am honestly pissed about this. She was great.

Sideshow stuff would work if not for the two Diva searches on Raw. If they did Tuff Enuff 4 on Smackdown, it'd be the same point. I can watch 100 reality shows in this time slot. I can watch T&A in almost every time slot. In fact, 9 PM's getting close to softcore cable porn time. Last thing I want to see is Lita doing T&A. They have a couple of hot Divas, but they're not gonna have enough to make this sort of attraction worth it to me.
