American Idiot is a hot albummm

Dunno we've had it for ages but I just finally started listening to it this week. "lol". Dunno, hotttttt CD, everything flows nicely and it makes me happy to listen to. Lots of good tunes. The first song doesn't like fit the rest of the CD at all, sound-wise. Still good though. I forgot how much the man Green Day are :'(

Requiem 04-19-2005 07:35 PM

Agreed.

Kane Knight 04-19-2005 07:54 PM

I agree, minus the mentally retarded spelling.

PullMyFinger 04-19-2005 08:33 PM

I still prefer their pre-Dookie cds (39/smooth and Kerplunk!)...and as for their mainstream days..Insomniac pwnd em all!

YOUR Hero 04-19-2005 10:38 PM

Music is for sinners anyway.

Wow, where did you go all this time?

Wolverine 04-26-2005 12:06 PM

Had the album for awhile loved it.

Saw them in albany last night, and what a fuckin show. One of the best live shows I've seen, better than expected specially their covers of Shout and We Are The Champions

That would be interesting to hear.

Loose Cannon 04-26-2005 01:11 PM

Yea, my sister went to thier show the other day and they played We Are the Champions she said.

Silent 04-26-2005 01:54 PM

I'm sick of the album now.. I've listened to it a lot.

Bad Company 04-26-2005 05:03 PM

I have thrashed it, don't listen to it much now. It's still all over the radio

Buzzkill 04-27-2005 12:24 AM

Yeah its a great album

Transplant 04-27-2005 12:44 AM

It's not a terrific album. There's a few good songs on there. Although that Boulevard of Broken Dreams is fuckin stupid. It's so slow and depressing. If I want to listen to depressing songs, I'll borrow Simple Plan off someone.

Oi. Why would anyone want to listen to a Simple Plan anyway?

Boulevard of Broken Dreams is a decent song, but it really shines in its place within the concept album American Idiot is supposed to be. context. Depressing? yeah, but it's cool.

And this is considering I can't name a single SONG off one of their other records I even like.

loopydate 04-27-2005 01:44 AM

American Idiot is a fantastic album. One of the best of the last five years or so.

As has been said before, the title track doesn't quite fit the overall feel of the album, but it does sort of work as a foreword to it. Top to bottom, there's not a weak song on the album, and I constantly find myself humming one track or another.

When I first heard that they were making a "rock opera," I thought they'd completely lost their minds, but it really is wonderful. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

Exactly my point.

LK 04-27-2005 04:34 AM

It's a fantastic album which I think is Green Day's best work. American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Boulevard, Letterbomb, When September Ends and Homecoming are all top songs. In my view it's the album of the year.

Downunder 04-28-2005 09:29 AM

I can't pick a bad song off the album.

They don't thrash it on the radio station I listen to, so the only time I hear it is when I play it.

The only song I hear on the radio is BoBD.

Not surprising though.

The Outlaw 04-28-2005 04:18 PM

I read this thinking the title said American Idol. :o

road doggy dogg 04-30-2005 09:26 PM

Yeah this CD still pwns. Been listening to it nonstop since I've gotten it. Jesus of Suburbia is like the greatest song ever, next to the mandatory Blink nominees, and/or The Decline. HOTTTTTTTtttttttttttt. God I wish I didn't stop listening to Green Day for so long :(

Silent 04-30-2005 09:36 PM

I deleted the album off my computer the other day. Sick of hearing it. :p

road doggy dogg 04-30-2005 09:38 PM

I'm sick of hearing your ugly face, swine. Meet me at the flagpole at 3pm for a knuckle sandwich.

road doggy dogg 06-17-2005 02:47 AM

ANOTHER SHAMELESS BUMPPPPP

Man. I've been listening to this album like every single day for the past 2 months. Seriously like the best album I've ever heard. Goddddddddddddddd. Every time I listen to it I love it more. I gotta go see Green Day when they tour sometime, fuck. So good. Gonna go listen to Homecoming againnnn

Silent 06-17-2005 03:43 AM

lol stfu

Looking for boobies. 06-17-2005 06:11 AM

It is indeed one fan-fucking-tastic album. I should listen to it right now and I probably will.

Tornado 06-17-2005 07:21 AM

Going to see them on Sunday, supported by Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World and Hard-Fi.

Downunder 06-17-2005 10:32 AM

I nearly played it in the car the other day when I was on a long trip - I played the new Foo Fighters instead :y:

Green Day still rocks tho'

Deceit 06-17-2005 02:19 PM

I completely agree.

I actually finally got myself to listen to it last month and I was really impressed by it. Boulevard of Broken dreams being played 15,000 times a day on the radio was pretty much halting me from listening to it. Glad I did :y:

Evil Vito 06-19-2005 12:55 PM

Yeah, it's a fuckin' great album...not a weak song on it.

Baio 06-19-2005 02:55 PM

Now that its kool for punk to actually have something to say Green Day decideds to say something. Fuck them.

The Outlaw 06-19-2005 08:38 PM

lol wtf? I thought the whole big "thing" about punk music was that they had this big message about whatever. Hence why people are like "omg blink aren't punk, SEX PISTOLS ARE FUCKING PUNK RARRRRRR"

Green Day are immense, hush now.

Way to bitch about an argument you evidently don't understand.

Tornado 06-24-2005 09:39 AM

They where pretty damn awesome at Milton Keynes on Sunday.

Kane Knight 06-24-2005 01:58 PM

If punk is all about a message, why are the Ramones (Often as shallow as the beach boys) considered punk?

road doggy dogg 06-24-2005 05:42 PM

I don't care either way. I'm referring to all the whiney retards who are like "punk is all about being anti-authority" or whatever, and calling bands like Sum 41, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, etc not punk because they're poppy or whatever. I don't know, I just find it hilarious when people bitch about it at all

El Capitano Gatisto 06-24-2005 05:47 PM

They're rubbish.

Yeah, but the reason that they're not punk isn't that they're not "anti-authority," it's because they're more produced than New Wave, can't play for shit, and really have nothing to do with punk.

It had nothing to do with authority. The only "rebellion" in punk was from overprocessed sound and overproduced record cuts. Which all those groups use. In other words, it was counter-culture, so by definition, Blink can never be punk.

But hey, ramble on like the stupid twat you normally are. I mean, it must be punk because you said so...

Looking for boobies. 06-25-2005 04:50 AM

I don't think RDD is saying they are punk. He is saying he just laughs at the people who bitch and moan about those bands not being punk.

Does it matter? His argument is pointless anyway.

Besides, he calls them punk all the time. I'd say he's said they're punk enough.

They're only considered "punk" because whiny understood little girls like him don't want to call them what they really are...Boy bands.

Kane Knight 06-25-2005 04:14 PM

BTW, Linkin Park is my favorite thrash artist.

It depends on the era. Punk meant different things at different times. In the begining it was a conservative movement (the Ramones were mostly conservative as an example) and it was about just being over the top, and playing shitty songs as fast as you could. In the 80's/90's, punk became more about a message. In recent years it has morphed into some kind of annoying whiney emo bullshit.

Green Day just fucking sucks to me. They marketed punk to the masses in a bubble gum disguise and created legions of kids who thought they were being all cool and different, like all the annoying real punk kids who real and different, but atleast the "real punks" most of the time were listening to music that provoked real thought. Same thing with Blink and all those shitty pop punk bands, marketing punk to the masses.. I woulndt even hate GD so much if it werent for that American Idiot song. they wait till they can safely have a message before they decide to. fuck them.

Baio 06-25-2005 06:55 PM

Seriously ahh I hate GD, give me some fucking Bad Religion, best punk band ever.
