The reader review over IGN is a 9.5 with 70 something votes so far. That's a little encouraging.

Isn't IGN generally harsh on rassling anyway? Might explain the difference between 6.0 and 9.5.

Also, most of those reviews are pretty petty.

Now, I don't know if the game's good or not, but they seem to go out of their way to find things to nitpick, making me wonder if the hit detection and AI are really all that bad. If you're bitching about the lack of "ambient music" or the "Menu formats," something's up.

Meh.. The Team Xbox review made it sound like there was no back button for the menus. You had to go through with everything, then quit out of the match if you messed up.

Also, I don't like the idea of having to change something in CAW, and not being able to see it right then. They again, made it sound like you had to go into a match to see if you liked the change, then exit out and remove it if you didn't.

I knew Mo-cap was a bad idea, you are just asking for a glitch fest. However, the team X-box review did have a picture of "Orton going down to Captain Charisma"! :D

well the game comes in today at GameStop for me and I'm supposed to pick it up and since I have tomorrow off I plan on testing it out and will proabbly give my own review of the game.

I read somewhere that since XBL isn't sending any packets to connect, it's not the server. It's the game (supposedly). Supposedly there's no way to fix it save a mass recall of the game or a disk.

It's not like anyone can connect to XBL though WM 21 right now anyway, so even if it had downloadable content, it wouldn't do you a damn bit of good.

I bought the game today...I am so far very very disappointed.

Game looks ok

Plays decent

But the CAW is severaly lacking in options so far (i assume I have to buy everything else in the WWE store)

For some reason my character sounds like John Cena

When you hit a finisher or something, it looks like a regular move...unlike some other games where at least you feel like you hit a finisher.

The career mode im not really impressed with so far other than they have character voice overs.

Controls are weird so far...

i just won the f'n tag titles and now the f'n freezes..

It's pretty much crap. The Ai is super cheap and it takes you song long to get back up that by the time you do you're knocked down again like that.


It froze once while loading.

Plus side is the voice overs are pretty decent and the cutscenes are neat but the gameplay sucks.

Why is it to complicated to make a decent wrestling game...

even little things they couldnt do right...in my tag team title match the dudley boys didnt even come down together...they had seperate entrances and they are the tag team champs for cryin out loud!!

the only good thing is that the wrestlers actually wear the belts to the ring

there is also no special ring attire you can wear to the ring and then remove...whatever you put on your character stays on your character

i had such high hopes...do they even talk to wrestling fans when they make these games?

Yeah it's overall still pretty bad but I'm getting into the storymode. The voiceovers are the bets thing done in this game

ok this cannot be the proper reelease, things that are supposed to be unlockable come unlocked right away, all the caw entrance stuff.

One cool scene though, I'm US champ, I interfear via cutscene in a Cena/JBL mattch, knock JBL out silly, Cena goes to punch me I used the belt to block the punch, Cena punches the belt and hurts his hand then I knock him silly with the belt.

Cut scenes are way to easy to skip thouhg you even so much as blow on the controller and it skips.

Why is there so much shit to unlock in this game? Do the developers actually expect us to play through multiple times to get it all? I'll be lucky if I actually complete this piece of shit the first time.

The more I play the more I enjoy. It's still not what I would call a good game but it's not without it's good points. One of the better linear story modes in wrestling history

bo and lara, they may do a call back to get versions where online mode actually work out, and they may fix all the glitches

to mee it seems they rushed to get it out.. very terrible game testing on the "final" version

I'm not too familliar with the XBox, but you should be able to make a connection without the game being involved in terms of uploading a patch.

The problem is that this is the future of video games.

Hell, it would be easier just to port No Mercy to XBox and make it online and it would sell like shit you wouldn't even believe.

Anyway I started playin more and more in the career mode and I must say first off, the voice overs really help carry the career mode... mainly cause it's pulled off so much better than on SVR when everyone sounds bored and in a studio.

There are still some things that really really irritate me about it like teh fact that you could be literally half a length away fromyou opponent and you start running and they can still hit you with a back body drop or something.

Also one thing that really irks me is that there is too much stuff to try to unlock. I mean man I'm talkin bout stuff you might actually want, then you have to pay out your nose for attribute points. So it's either get the stuff you want but keep a weak character or build your character up and have to wait even longer to get the stuff you may want.

Other than that it's better, at least to me, than those reviews make it out to be. They were really just bein nit picky about the whole thing.

Although the create a belt thing, the belts look like cheap plastic toys fromyour local department store, they really suck but at least they are free to make.

Yeah, the voice overs really make the career mode pretty cool. Really adds to the game (esp. after raw 2 which didnt even have subtitles).

Has anyone figured out how to use the other superstar theme music in the game? Or does that have to be unlocked.

Im not sure what has to be unlocked and what doesnt. Because I have all the symbols, movies, pyros, and generic theme music. But I had them when I started the game, and didnt have to unlock them. Is that a glitch or what?

This is probably one of the worst wrestling games I've ever played. Seriously. I thought Raw and Raw 2 were bad, but this takes the cake. Bring back the No Mercy system.

So this leads me to believe that Studio Gigante = Failed.

Cmon...worse than Raw 2 I could maybe understand...but worse than Raw 1? Thats a little harsh...you have to play this for a while to get more into it.

I think my big problem is that I was expecting WAY too much from an Xbox WWE game. To this point, they've been nothing but disappointments.

I thought Raw 2's storyline was a huge improvement over Raw's, for the simple reason that Raw 2 actually HAD one. I kept thinking that WM 21 would be something spectacular, but I (and many others) get stuck with a mediocre story mode at best.

I guess I should rent this game before buying it :y:

Is online play any good? I read that all the modes available in single player can be played online.

the main thing that is gettin me about this game now is the amount of times it gets stuck

So I beat Kurt Angle at WM to unify the titles. Then after the match I got attacked by Bradshaw, Big Show, and Angle. Left them all motionless in the ring while I celebrated with my titles. I thought this would lead to some cool title defenses afterwards...instead....nothing...They dont let you play career mode anymore...this game frustrates me to no end.

HOw the blue world do you "defeat a legend" as one of your tasks to complete?

I've purchased Snuka-a legend. And beat him two times in a normal match. nothing. then i beat him in a cage match. nothing. so inform me how.

i thnk you have to beat him in career mode....in my career, Eric Bischoff hired the legends to help train me kind of.

well I already went through career mode... I'll try it again first and hopefully it works although it's straight retarded that you can't just buy a legend and beat them in a match.

I had the same problem but then I beat him on the legend difficulty and it had me as completing the goal.
